It may Sound stuipid to set your own base under attack, but i just came to the stuipid idea that beside what is going to be added for singleplayer with the Encampments could also be buyable. Like you build your base And got some ally Friends Who would like some Action you could buy a Dragon attacking your island or Pirates etc. Just for the Fun or with rewards if you are able to kill it

What do you all perceive to be the ideal atlas experience? The game seems to lack a clear direction. What do you all intend to do if anything to shift game play to be more boat focused? They only way to accomplish anything in PvP currently is destroying people's islands. Housing any kind of boat safely, even given peace timers, requires mega bases that the majority of player groups can not dedicate the time to build and maintain. What are solutions to this problem you all have considered, and what is the ideal scenario you all would like to see? How specifically do you all intend to rework the blueprint system to not put players without a mythic galleon at a MASSIVE disadvantage? At current, a common boat can't even hold enough cannonballs to sink a mythic boat, and it takes a group of 5 or more to have a chance at sinking a mythic boat. At the moment you can keep a galleon with half its planks missing afloat with only 4 people bucketing, What steps are you all taking to address this (maybe remove bucketing in to camp fires...)? Server performance has managed to seemingly decline even given the low player population, assumably due to mega bases. Is optimizing the game's current system to run better the best way forward, or are you all looking in to more wholistic changes? There is currently no reason for players to repeat any of the world bosses other than to help others. Is this the intended game play experience? How do you all think on boarding of new players should be handled? At the moment new players either join an existing company to teach them how to play, or they sit around on a beach and never experience most of the game's content. should it be the job of existing companies to onboard new players, or should their be more resources given to new players to teach them how to play?

Thanks for adding singe player, I can settle whatever island I want, build whatever I want everywhere and set the rates how I want them. Thank you devs BTW: does anyone know what the single player settings option does?

For science! Thanks for the really detailed reply. Before I wrote this, I didn't realize the vitamin level gave a boost. I'm often wearing cloth armor to protect against the heat. Sometimes I'm naked, because I forgot to dress after exiting the diving suit. Sadly, also, I recently froze to death while wearing the diving suit. I checked my character recently and I think I have about 40 fortitude. I haven't tamed a parrot yet and I wonder and hope it could survive underwater long enough for me to get the ship wreck loot.

To my knowledge, spending 30 points in fortitude will increase your hyper and hypo by 50 insulation points without armor, vitamins or parrot. Vitamins will increase fortitude by another 30 fortitude points so + 50 insulation points to the first 50 insulation points = 100 insulation points. Parrots supposed to increase fortitude per its actual level but to my knowledge that number is unknown. Some say it scales with the parrot's melee attack. For science, we are going to say another 30 fortitude points making our insulation points = to 150 points. Now we need to talk about armor. We can have cloth which will provide insulation against heat and cold, fur will give insulation against cold and negative heat. The plate armor is similar to fur but mostly for melee. Cloth armor New armor stats including the above 150 points of insulation. Hypo = 29 179 Hyper = 60 210 Fur armor Hypo = 216 366 Hyper = -130 20 The Plate Hypo = 47 197 Hyper = -42 108 Be mindful that the above numbers are not fortitude points and are actual insulation points. Meaning the following: wearing gear, having the equilibrium boost, placing at least 30 fortitude points into fortitude and having a parrot on your shoulder will provide you approximate numbers reference Hypo and Hyper insulation mentioned under "New armor stats including the above 150 points of insulation." Anyways, the point of all this was that I make sure that I have at least 60 points in fortitude, 700 weight and the rest in health and stamina. Warning: All information mentioned above is taken either from Atlas Wiki or in-game statistics.

If you set the difficulty on 1 (preset 0,2) the wild animals can spawn up to level 150. Alphas up to 1000 or more (not seen one over lvl 963). And if you're not on a powerstone-island you can tame everything except alphas. The problem now is the max lvl of the tames. If you breed without changing your game.ini file you will not be able to lvl them up over lvl 130 or somewhete there around. In another post jat postet a example for the game.ini file who lets you lvl up tames born up to lvl 120 with another 150 lvl = 270 Max.

40 - 45 base fortitude is solid in pvp when lvl 80+

You get an armour against the heat. It's called: clothe-armour. Read the stats and you will see, it's the only one who helps against the heat.

I liked it when there was only one type of ship don't get me wrong the ships themselves are great but the loot is horrible. You used to be guaranteed good look with a 50+ ship pre wipe but now it has to be a lvl 50+ galleon or it's not worth turning around. Only ways i can think to fix this is either have the fleet only drop 1 loot box that is for the whole fleet (i know poor choice because you have to find and kill them all and if they split up this is very hard) or you could have ships above 50 drop mythicals and legendaries like they used to but just in different quantities. Lvl 50+ schooner 1 bp brigs 2 and galleons 4. This is what i would recommend, as it stands schooners have no purpose other than to make you waste time to kill them so a new ship can spawn and inconvenience people.

just keep all your vitamins up for 30 min, this gives you 30 fortitude and 10% movement speed bonus its all you really need for this stat. I live in tundra and 30 fort is all I ever need.

I dunno but I think you should challenge Chuck to a pvp duel for the right to use George Carlin as your avi. The guy is a legend and easily my all time favorite comedian. Every time I look at either of your avis I think of some funny shit he said that made me laugh AND think.

You can get pillars on the corners, it's not structural but you can get them to line up. Place a foundation, or use existing one. (must have a clear edge). Snap a fence foundation sticking out from one corner. You can now snap a pillar onto the foundation corner 90 degrees from the fence foundation. Once that pillar is in place you can use that pillars snap locations to place any others. The dock in the image is actually held up by centre placed pillars, look closely and you can see a few.

Personally, I'd like to know why the walls can't snap into the ground like foundations and pillars. Actually, let me take a step back. Your absolutely right about those columns. The appearance of them is appalling. Worse, due to the single option snap point they are not nearly as effective as they should be. Back to the walls, when I build a wall down into a hill I would very much expect it to seal into the ground exactly like a foundation or a column would. as it is, it is very difficult to form fit slopes.

No that's Dollie leaving the chat. If your premise is that it's inappropriate under any circumstance whatsoever for a moderator to ever leave a chat, I can offer a pretty good guess about the kind of thing that might have precipitated her leaving.

The short answer is you have joined a game 7 months into a 2 year Early Access development cycle that is struggling with some fundamental design issues, some of which relate directly to where and how players should be allowed to build. The good news is expansion of building options and greater variety of building pieces is almost certainly coming. The bad news is probably not soon. I am however willing to back that statement with Boomer’s guarantee.* *Boomer’s guarantee: All predictions wrong or your money back.

Wild level animal cap is 150 unless difficulty is manually set higher. At 2-3 I have seen level 1700 wild level animals at powertstones.
  21. 1 point
I think difficulty setting seriously comes into play here. I play on maximum difficulty as a solo game and I've seen alpha creatures that are lvl 900+ (I killed an alpha turtle that was lvl 969) I haven't been around very much but I have seen a few wild animals at lvl 100+ in my game. Makes me think the wild animal level cap is 150 or something.
  22. 1 point
Isn't that depending on server / single player settings? Sure, official can have max lvl 30, but if you play with difficulty setting on server/ single player you can get up to few hundreds level creature.

I think most player spend a lot of time to takeing the resources from the resource box to the crafting table to craft My suggestion is all crafting table can draw the resources from the resource box. And make some options in the resource box 1.Make a on/off option for crafting draw resource 2.Make order number to the resource box then all crafting table will draw it by the number 0------>1------->2 to make sure ppl will not use the wrong resource box 3.Anchored ship will draw the resources to repair

I might be confused but the map in Singleplayer (assuming you haven't used a custom json/map images and are just running with default), is the same that we use on the Official networks.

Tbh I'm absolutely loving single player!
  30. 1 point
Yeah there's no point in flag claims in single player, because no-one else is playing besides the single player. They can build wherever they want. What would you need a claim flag for?
  31. 1 point
I noticed this as well. After talking to folks in Discord, the opinion was that it's single player. No need to claim land. Just go build anywhere. I would like more details. I thought you needed to place a flag to feed and pay crew in the base. I like the idea of claiming in single player so I can see where I've been

Ok, it's well reported by now that the wheel of misfortune doesn't work.. never really worked in ark.. doesn't work in atlas. So our crewmen are destined to forever shoot fish, parrots, seaguls, horses, sheep, pigs etc. How about an ai overhaul? Where you can actually get a crewman to operate to a script.. pull lever at night.. to switch on lights.. pull lever in morning to switch them off. Unload cargo or tames into nearby lockers/chests. Pickup nearby poo and convert it into fertiliser.. Collect farm crops.. supply fertiliser to crops. Maybe.. just maybe.. shoot crocodiles.. and ignore the elephants, giraffes, parrots, fish, horses, pigs.. just shoot just crocodiles. There's dinos in Ark.. that collect poo.. so why not have crewmen do it too. And oh.. can we have crewmen take up positions in the dingy.. for that little extra speed, hell, forget rowing the boat gently up the stream, merrily merrily.. can we just get them to sit, in the dingy.. so crocodiles and sharks don't eat them when they're being rescued.

Ark had single-player from the outset and as I type this it has 57k players online. Single player has never held Ark back and there's no reason it will hold Atlas back. It hasn't stopped Ark's development in any way, shape or form, either.

The vitamins bar gets silly at times in this game,I'm not needing to eat through hunger but I have to eat for vits, then I get an overate penalty. When people literally find it easier to let their character die to replenish their vits bar rather than have to keep getting food ,then surely there is a problem with that aspect of the game.
  38. 1 point
I honestly haven't noticed the vitamins at all since season 1 ended. I will get hungry or thirsty long before vitamins give me any trouble. A quick suicide and right back to action. If I am going sailing I will ofc have a larder on board for the crew anyways, so its not even an issue. Certainly not worth putting any skill points into. No, hes not mean, hes just stating a fact. I grew up spending $50 per game. It was the going rate for every new title. Granted, they were finished titles and ready for market (up until about 7-10 years ago, damn you D3). $15 for a game is basically a free game. I don't even care if its early access because you are paying less than half of retail. It is an insignificant amount of money for the entertainment you get out of it. Best part is when it releases for $40, $50, $60 whatever they charge, you still have the game for the $15 you spent 2 years prior. Its so cheap in fact, that you would have to dissuade over 133 people that were certainly going to buy the game from doing so to have cost GS thousands of dollars (certainly doable with social media mind you). -CS

I just stand in a fire when i lose my vitamin buff
  40. 1 point
I don’t have a problem with the vitamins at all. I like the buff you get from achieving equilibrium, and with some planning it’s not difficult to keep them up. The simplest way I’ve found to keep them up is to max out your vitamin buff in the survival tree. The second tier is good enough, but having the third is really nice. Put some points into fortitude because that also reduces your vitamin depletion rate. I always have at least 40 points in fortitude. With the equilibrium buff that becomes 70, which makes it a bit easier as well. For food, salt prime meat in a preserving bag, grow veggies, have a cow for milk, and I like to keep rum around as well, though berries are usually easy to find. The salted prime meat gives you a lot of vitamin b without filling up your hunger bar as well. Veggies are good for vitamin a, but if you can’t farm just spend some time picking up coconuts or digging up potatoes. Rum and milk will give you vitamins c and d respectively, and they fill up your water bar, not hunger. Eating the salted prime meat will lower your water level. I also keep salted meat and salted fish in the preserving bag, just in case my water bar is too full. Eating a few of them will lower your water level so you can have more rum or milk. Without any of the overeating skills, you can eat up to 125 points without taking damage. If you need to eat more yet, grab a tool and just swing it in the air to lower your stamina quickly. Regenerating stamina will use up your food levels. With a bit of effort, it’s not that difficult to maintain the buff, and I think the buff is absolutely worth the effort. I always feel so slow after I die and lose the buff. Hopefully this will help you and others out, and if anybody else has some tips please share them.

Why the hell would a manta ray attack a freakin stone construction? Every freakin time i jump in to the water next to my shipyard atleast 2 mantas are attacking me until i leave the water, then the mantas start attacking my shipyard, foundations or whatever. Whoever thought this would be funny, NO ITS NOT! fix this asap...its annoying af. Btw this problem exists since launch

I think you missed a point. If you look at all the data, 6 speed sails is always faster. But if you are above 50% weight, you are faster if you add a cargo crate.
