Hey great to have another livestream Some things on my mind maybe you can share some info on some of these: New Ships/Vehicles: An important feature of the game, can you share anything on these no matter how vague at least that some thing will come some time? Crew Functionality: Will crew be able to do more tasks and even on land, maybe guard duty, raising an alarm, maning mining or woodcutter camps and so on? MMO Living World: Will we see something like a living and changing world with some bigger events? Trading: NPC Ports with different prices to allow a trading career when you are not on a server with a functioning player trading network? Quests: Will we see some of the basic MMO stuff to keep players playing? Could be exciting tasks in a dynamic way, collect and deliver certain amount of resources, defend location against npc armada, attack certain npc base or ship, steal special goods from npc ship, base. Progression mechanic: Will you flesh out the progression mechanic to provide some of the basics for an mmo that keep players playing for a long term? Like different xp trees (build ships, become better at building ships, faction relations, expansion of the gold progression and other alternate ways to progress in a permanent way. Survival: Will the survival mechanic(collect resources and survive without a ship) and the gold mechanic(once you have a ship collect gold and buy the basics with it, upgrade ships and buy better ships with gold etc.) be separated to allow for a true survival experience when you dont have access to a ship and thus gold and traders? Water/Air Bases: Will we see under water basebuilding or flying bases/islands Crew Breeding: Any Infos on breeding our own crew? Has that horrendous baby model improved Will we see gradual aging and an expansion to the age slider to allow human npcs to grow up and get old in a normal way and not change from a new born into a random 90year old looking crew like they pop from the shop? Sliders: Will we get a feet height slider? Small Characters with small feet look awkward from the side with their brick feet Will the aging include sliders in the future so old characters shrink a bit and loose muscles for example? Wild Pirate Encampments/Strongholds: Will they just be kill on sight and feature the same wonky respawn mechanic as the treasure maps or will we get a different system for example kill x numbers and they retreat or stop respawning instead of kill all in one go? Will Encampments be peaceful initially and let us trade with them and do they also spawn ports so we can trade with them when we dont want to settle on ever island in single player and dedicated? Keep up the great work

Thats not much. How about a pic of the diffrent map layout?

Have you thought of putting a map with pvp and pve areas together like a lot of the private servers have made so that small tribes can enjoy the ship pvp without having their base trashed by the large tribes and have a safe area to relax when they want to just build.

Hey Antony. We've opted not to give an ETA on the next Mega Update yet because, let's be blunt, meeting ETA's when we set them quite far in advance isn't our strongest attribute as a Studio As it draws closer, we'll share more. Generally speaking, we have a lot we're working on behind the scenes and information we're excited to share with the playerbase soon.

A bit more explanation of the map layout changes, please. What does it look like? What's the purpose of it?

Ahoy Pathfinders! In this Captain’s Log, we aim to give you an update on some new and exciting features that will be making their way to the ATLAS, as well as a brief status update on the next Mega Update. Before we begin, we’d like to give each and every one of you a huge thanks for the support you’ve shown ATLAS. Over the course of ATLAS’ development, our recent review scores on Steam have jumped considerably. We just wanted to express our thanks and show our gratitude for your support. We know that our work is far from over and that ATLAS still has a long journey ahead. There are many more changes we plan to make and features we would like to introduce. Keep your eye on the horizon, there is much to look forward to, some coming sooner than you might expect ;)! Mega Update 3! It’s been a while since we’ve spoken about our next Mega Update 3. There have been questions about the release date, and how it’s progressing. The update is still coming together, our team of developers is actively working on getting it ready to release. When we’ve got something to share about the launch date, additional features, it’s availability on the PTR, we will let you know. Though, we won’t leave you guys empty handed! Here’s an update on our Hydra Six-Shooter Pistol! In an earlier log, we revealed it’s concept art, now we can actually show you what it looks like in game as it’s going through its implementation. This pistol, as the name indicates, allows for up to 6 shots before reloading -- though it is significantly weaker than the single-shot flintlock! So if your aim sucks, or you have multiple targets, this will be a great weapon of choice. Wild Pirate Encampments! We’re excited to reveal to you a new system we’ve been working on, which will be released for Single Player, Non-Dedicated Multiplayer (more on that later!), Unofficial Dedicated Servers (optional), and potentially expanded onto the Official Networks in the future. This is how the new feature will function on Non-Dedicated Multiplayer and Single Player mode: “Wild Pirate Encampments” (WPE) are collections of enemy NPC characters, defensive fleets, and fortifications which inhabit claimable islands. They have varying weapons (melee and ranged), defenses (various cannons/turret types), and live in pre-built forts. They’ll also have AI ships representing all 4 classes (Sloop through to Galleon) patrolling the shoreline of their islands. The placement of Encampments will be randomized along the islands, and they can also include inland encampments without ships. You’ll have to explore an island to discover all the encampments which inhabit it, and the number can vary based on the island size, with larger islands having bigger and more Encampments. Each region will also have a WPE Level visible to players, some being higher than others resulting in better loot but a more challenging task. In order to claim an island, Pathfinders must destroy the WPE that currently live on it. This includes their patrolling ships and any enemy NPC within range of the Encampment center. Players will be able to use the Encampment claimflag to reveal nearby enemy NPCs. After claiming an Encampment, all Encampment structures transferred to the new settlement owner, and an Encampment Loot Box will be spawned. Once defeated, an Encampment will never respawn, and you cannot unclaim an Encampment. However, if the Encampment has not been fully defeated, it will reset to full strength if sufficient time has transpired without it being rendered. Players will have the option to disable WPE entirely via the Host Settings UI, or scale the difficulty of Encampments (this will not affect the loot quality). If you decide to enable WPE on an Unofficial Dedicated Server please note that: Encampments will only spawn (and can respawn) on unsettled islands when no players/tames/structures are nearby at all, over a long period of time. An island can only have Claim Flags placed on it when no Encampments are present on the island, indicated on the HUD when the system is enabled. With the implementation of this togglable content, we’ll be nerfing the traversal capability of Gliders on Non-Dedicated Multiplayer and Single Player, with an option to use the original values in Non-Dedicated Multiplayer. We’re excited to introduce this type of encounter to the ATLAS and we expect to have it ready in the very near future. Non-Dedicated Multiplayer! Following the positive response to Single Player and after evaluating the relatively small amount of technical bandwidth required to make this a possibility, we’re excited to announce that a new game mode will be making its way to players! Non-Dedicated Multiplayer will facilitate playing as a client whilst also hosting the server at the same time. It will allow up to 8 players to play simultaneously on the server. Similarly to Single player, the host will be able to make use of the host settings UI to adjust server settings to your group’s needs, as well as additional enhancements in your .ini files. We expect to have this game mode available next week (the week of July 14), and the “Wild Pirate Encampments” Beta towards the end of the month. ISO: Blackwood We are working on final touches and testing for ISO: Blackwood and we expect to have it ready to play later this month. Explore the heart of the jungle or settle in rolling farmland. Silent eddies run before your boat as you make your way through the slick reeds of The Mire. Wade through thick green waters teeming with dangerous creatures, rare plant life, and the occasional Gorgon to find buried treasure and lost corpses. Approach the ancient serpent boss, Anacython, if you dare! For those not familiar with Blackwood, this is not something we’ll be supporting specifically on our Official Network, as it was designed and intended to be used for single servers an example of a mod map that can be hosted unofficially. This specific map will be set up so that you can still enjoy all the mechanics that ATLAS has to offer, whilst hosting it as a standalone server with no database setup required! Live Game Patches Since the last Captain's Log, our live game updates have taken a look at some more long term issues we’d like to address with the game in addition to our general focus towards bugs, performance, and QOL. We released an update which was shortly reverted with the aim of tackling sky high Claim Flags. Our initial attempt involved setting a maximum height for flags to be placed at, but we recognize this one-stop solution doesn’t work for all islands, so we’ll be looking at a more island-specific approach in the future. We understand why these locations are chosen for flags, and how they relate to some of the more frustrating mechanics involved in contesting claims for both attackers/defenders, which we also plan to improve in the future. An additional patch focused on the implementation of Fast Decay on our Official Network in order to tackle the structure spam that is present on islands. We understand that this doesn’t resolve the root issue and it can be worked around, however, it’s an initial measure we wanted to put in place whilst we explore proper long term solutions. With today's patch, we'll be deploying a measure to help new settlement owners clear out existing structures on their island. A frustrating part of the game, after claiming an island from someone else, is dealing with the remains of their structures, whether that's a large base, or where that's multiple pillars and foundations littered around the island. With the latest patch, new settlement owners will now have a 12-hour window to activate a one-time razing of an island. This will destroy all structures on that island, including their own. It can only be used during peacetime, and will notify everyone on that specific grid, as well as log into any companies that had wiped structures on that island. And finally, crew changes! So, of course, you guys may remember our mention of the I.W.C.R.S, now dubbed the Silo - a structure which can store gold and berries and is capable of feeding and paying crew from anywhere on the island - a much needed QOL change! Another crew focused change we made recently, was to sync up the costs of both stationed and idle crew. This was because we wanted to encourage players to keep their crew stationed when possible, and the primary reason for that is for performance. Stationed crew are a lot more cost efficient on our servers due to specialized logic. So it’s a win-win for everyone here! Further changes involved allowing the stationed crew to repair boats, but that change was shortly reverted due to players requiring the choice of whether or not they wanted their crew to repair their boat. Having all crew capable of repairing meant resources were being used up a lot more rapidly than some intended due to natural boat decay, but changing it back to idle only, means players have a partial choice in determining how often those resources are being used up. It's clear this system could use some improvements, and it’ll likely be something that's touched on in the future. We wanted to highlight that sometimes we’ll make changes and they may not pan out, but we’re not afraid to pull those back, give them some more time in the oven or tackle problems from a different point of view. We appreciate your feedback as always and will continue to iterate on solving these problems and more! And now for the rest of the patch notes: 209.499 - Fast Decay has now been enabled for Settlement Owners - Fixed Reservoir and Waterpipes being from being falsely flagged by Fast Decay - Fixed some edge-case 3-5 structure builds from being falsely flagged by Fast Decay 209.497 - Fast Structure Decay has been enabled on our Official Network. This means that core foundation structures (floors, pillars, and fence supports), which are not snapped (connected) to more than 2 pieces or do not have a valid structure on top will have rapid decay which will result in their destruction after 12 hours of not being rendered in. Unofficials can enable this setting with the following command parameter: ?FastDecayUnsnappedCoreStructures=true - Reverted the change to Stationed Crew repairing anchored boats in order to control the amount of materials that are being consumed when a boat has been anchored. Idle crew will still repair boats. v209.491 - Magic Mythos bonus rates have been disabled - Fast Structure Decay has been disabled on our Official Network (needs more tweaks before we can set this live) v209.48 - Fixed a bug which would cause bears and horses from not basing on ships when they had storage carts attached to their harness (this would cause them to fall off ships when sailing) - Non Seamless Grid maps now save and load player/ship locations properly (notable on mod maps such as OceanTest) - Stationed crew can now repair anchored boats - Stationed Crew and Idle Crew now have the same gold cost requirements on land and on ships (Client will need to be updated to visualize this change, it's inc!) - Fast Structure Decay is now enabled on non-snapped core structures. This means that they will decay within 12 hours. v209.46 - Shipwrecks and their icons should now correctly vanish on the map after 5 days. We're still investigating legacy wrecks and however they may clear with this change after 5 days, as company data is loaded - Fixed "leave Company" button v209.43 - Fixed a bug which would sometimes cause the Wall Hook to not remember whether a light source was active after loading a saved game - Fixed a bug where players would temporarily enter combat state upon transition v209.4 - Fixed a bug which prevented players from gaining experience at level 149 (Max is level 150) - Companies are now enabled and force-created on Single Player so players have access to their Company Log. If you had a pre-existing savefile, you will be able to create a company, however it will only pull in boats/structures/creatures for the grid you're currently on. We recommend creating your company on your most active grid. You can use the cheat command 'cheat givetome' to pull boats/structures/creatures into your new company - Added an Admin Command to Single Player: cheat DoLeaveTribe - Forest Colouring can now be crafted and applied to items - Renamed one of the Purple colours to 'Dark Violet' as there were two of the same name - Demolishing buoys will no longer leave the sign floating behind 209.36 - Fixed a bug which caused silos to pay crew that weren't on the same team v209.35 - Reverted the Claim Flag height limit on Official Servers v209.34 - When replacing invalid claimflags, you can now place them within the green ring of your original flag - Claim flag height limit has been increased to 6500 units above sea level v209.31 - Magic Mythos is enabled on our Official Network: 4x Harvesting, 4x Taming, 4x XP, 2x Gold, 2x Egg Hatching, 2x Baby Maturing, 2x Crop Growth, and 50% less mating interval! - Company Island Point Limit has been increased by 100 - Tax Banks can only be placed by Admins or above in companies. - Fixed certain level creatures not receiving experience points in Single Player - Fixed underwater trenches not loading properly in Single Player - Fixed a bug which caused Pistols to have a bullet loaded after being repaired from a broken state - Discovery Zones on the map can now be hidden using the Toggle Island Info button on the ATLAS map - Discovery on the map now temporarily disappear beyond a certain zoon distance on the map (zooming back in will have them reappear) - Important: Claim Flags now have a maximum height limit when being placed. Claim Flags that were previously placed which exceed this limit will indicate as such on the HUD. Those which exceed the limit will be able to place a 2nd claim flag in a viable location. This will destroy your old flag and drop it's entire inventory into a loot cache (2 hour expiration time) on the ground. Next Wednesday, we'll be deploying an update which will force destroy any legacy flags which exceed the height limit. The limit is 4k units above sea level which is approximately 16/17 walls and only admins or above will be able to replace the flag. - New configurable ini setting for Claim Flag height limit [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] MaxSettlementFlagZ=4000 // you can set this number to 999999 to have no height restrictions. v209.1 - Added activate sail turning as a keybind (default: Left Shift) - Crew Members will now take food/gold from the following structures in this priority (it goes to the 2nd/3rd if the first does not have gold). Crew on Land: 1st priority: Resource Box and Food larder 2nd priority: Silo 3rd priority: Claim Flags Crew on Fully Anchored Boats: 1st priority: Silo 2nd priority: Claim Flags 3rd priority: Resource Box and Food larder - New placeable land structure 'Crew Resources Silo' which allows storage of food and gold to feed crew. Note this will also function on lawless servers, but to do so we've had to have them display island points on the map, however they still will not be able to be claimed. - New option on claim flag which allows turning off crew gold and food payment - Fixed an edge case which allowed you to fire cannons through walls - Fixed a bug where Crew was taking gold/food from a flag before they took it from a resource box/larder when dealing with Crew on Land. - Fixed a bug which prevented harvesting on creatures/using tools in Singleplayer - Fixed a bug which would sometimes cause the resource override to stop functioning, therefore provide players with a different resource than intended Show 'N Tell #9 We loved looking over the entries for Show 'n Tell and we're excited to showcase our favourites so everyone can check out player's creative endeavours and piratey adventures! Let me start off with this first, I'm a PvE player so this goes from PvE only (my view); the following is not meant to be too sarcastic but you guys really have done a great job in letting the (almost) entirely community go to the bottom of the sea and even deeper. Why? Thats an answer you all know, the silence on all threads and only responses on the Blackwood thread makes it even harder for the majority of players to even making it worth while to comment on this forum. Here goes; Almost 1600 hours playtime. Thats how many I got since the release in december 2018. Good deal for a game wich costed me about 20 euros. When I saw the anouncement; ATLAS, a MMO with 40K players. THE pirategame where you can tame and breed animals, NPCs and even companymembers, I was stunned. Finally a game wich lives up to my name and created by the people from ARK. I just loved ARK and almost everything about it. I often wondered how it was like to sail around in a pirateship and do the same as in ARK. Taming, basebuilding, making awesomely insane ships, upgrading canons/weapons and so on. Now we got the chance of fighting pirates and all what came with it. Hyped. Everyone got hyped, we watched the TWITCH channel for the release and even when it got delayed, people still wanted this game so badly. It looked like you guys hit it spot on. We all where gathering old friends to buy this game and set up companies. Opened up multiple Discord channels and we where LOVING it. In the next weeks after release, we got alot of patches, the game is in EA and it needed alot of tweaking. Players where giving alot of tips and bugs and we had the feeling you guys learned from ARK and finally stood closer to the community then before. Then; the wipe. The wipe was something needed, we all can agree on that. New players where given a chance to try and get an island for their own, next to alot of improvements such as the claimingsystem. We where all hoping for more "piratecontent", wich was promised to us. More boats/different canons/breeding NPCs/villages bursting with activities like in the anouncements. We also got a skin for helping you guys out. (ikr), communitymanagers where appointed to keep in touch, but to be honest, here it stopped. Entirely. I'll never forget your face Jat, when people where spamming the TWITCH feed with comments like; Where are the new shipbuilds? Why is there a charwipe? Why don't you fix bugs? It was there and then we said as an alliance;" He's in way over his head, this game will never leave EA." Griefing. Players and companies where being griefed big time. Like us, we tried to get help in alot of ways. The only response I got, after 3 days of continiously spamming the the "ticketbox"; "I see what I can do, but I can not give you any info from here on." Thanks for that, I guess. Alot of companies where not having the "luck" of being smarter then the one who griefed them, they also tried to get in touch and/or help, but nothing happened. They left and felt like being stabbed in the back, most of them never will return. I remember and issue with one of our allies at that time, they went on and on and on for weeks on the Discord from ATLAS. Finally they got help from one of the admins. It was solved in 5 minutes, the griefing player was warned firmly and it was solved. 5 Minutes it took for the admin, was it that much for the other admins to do this? And before everyone goes ranting on them, remember they are being told to do things. Or not. The "Mega updates". You gotta be kidding me? That was our first reaction. Unreal, we get a, yes people; A Ron Jeremy of camels. I still can not believe it, an animal to make salt water tastes sweet, it feels like a screwup wich was done with sweet waterspots during the design of the game. No new ship designs, no new canons... Erm, ok, we got a torpedolauncher wich is almost completely useless on at least PvE and wich is expensive as.... For soloplayers/little companies? Nothing changed, it has gotten worse. Foundation and pillerspam? Some companies think it's normal to bomb places entirely, still happening. I asked once if a company wanted to remover theirs, I got so much BS about it, now they even made all of the floors 5 wide. "We just want to prevent other people from building there, due to the resources." And how about blocking other players to build? "There is space enuf now, let them keep on searching..." Sigh... pathetic. And not a single person from ATLAS does something about it. July mega update? It's august ffs. We don't even want to know the updates anymore and alot of players do not even care anymore. We know we're getting new animals and a new gun. That's not wat we want; WE WANT NEW SHIPS, NEW PIRATE CONTENT, BREEDING NPCS, NO MORE BROKEN PROMISSES! I do not care anymore about fixing, for instance, the so much hated building bug? Keep it, you guys know how to fix it, but leave it please. It has been fixed by a couple of modmakers. And in this rate with the game being drowned, we all go to unofficials. This game should NEVER been thrown into EA. It has been completely changed since it has been introduced as a "Pirate MMO with 40K players." Too bad to see all players go, people we got to know in the last 6 months are mostly gone allready. They will not return, so be happy with their cash. I really couldn't care any less if one of you responded or not anymore. Only one thing me and alot of players want to know now; Is this game going to be as it was sold to us or not?
  8. 1 point
excitement? no one is excited aside from the game's bank account, we are still waiting for the "early acces game" we got sold, because what we recieved was not an early access it was an alpha or even a pre alpha.
  9. 1 point
My thoughts exactly!! Not touching the PTR because the fact that they took away something from the actual game to force us there. You have to force people to the PTR because you have run everyone off the game and the few of us left here still trying to enjoy it look forward to the weekends. They have learned nothing and they never will. Wasn't there a post about them not caring about numbers playing the game or something? HA! Good one. Fk this game I am over it, or the devs and community managers I should say not the game. 1600 hours wasted.
  10. 1 point
No, your not the only one. Every weekend its a crap shoot to find out whats it going to be 2X, 4X gold, XP, harvest, taming. I dont understand the reasoning for not having a schedule so we know what going on. I guess we are like mushrooms. Keep us in the dark and feed us s#%t. 2X's should be the norm. 4X's for holidays, or whatever.
  11. 1 point
will the map layout changes be able to go life without a wipe?
  12. 1 point
PTR replaces copy paste islands which would require a wipe if released to live. XBOX is coming sooner than later. If Crossplay was going to be done, it only makes sense to wipe. It does not make sense to add wild pirates to official and force newcomers to have to fight NPC to take an empty island when old players did not have to. Better to wipe and make it so everyone has to do that. Conjecture based on these facts? The new islands and WPE are ready for when they wipe the servers for Crossplay

Balance is as always the key and appeasing all is never going to happen. That said, as has been mentioned by others, I’d like to see the two modes rolled up into one server hub with PVP and PVE zones with the power stone zones belonging to the Damned and the Freeports belonging to A.I. Navies of various nationalities and the Lawless Zones belonging to A.I. pirates. Get a reputation system going to align you with an A.I. Nation and Navy or A.I. Pirate band, then make the rare resources a little more scarce and spread out around the map to give you a reason to travel 15 Grid squares and kick off proper trade routes and hubs in the aforementioned A.I. hubs. Want the safe route? Yep, 15 squares, want the shortcut of 7 squares, you’ll be needing to transit PvP and or Pirate zones matey! This also lets the casual PvE’s try out PvP without committing to a server though, win win! Certainly the wildlife needs to be more lethal, I should be running and squealing like a little girl when I see a 20ft Cobra not waltzing up to it and casually poking it with a sharp stick, but an Alpha bunny? Really? That said, whilst the Fountain of youth quest shouldn’t be an easy stroll through the daisy’s, it seems that a lucky nudie run is the only way to do it as I certainly don’t see how the hell else you’re supposed to do it!

Will you be adding repeatable end game content. The Kraken and Giant Yeti are cool but not much incentive to repeat. It's hard to choose to spend time in Atlas when you have finished all the content when there isn't any repeatability.

Are you planning to work on your deficit documentation for help modder? (because you make a whole map blackhood to help us, but there is no explanation at all for anything) Do you plan like the Ark to integrate one or two animals for each update? Will you add one new ship or sail (no cosmetic) this year? Have you worked for an improvement of the colony system? Can we have a whole plan for everything you will develop during this year? (like priority fix bug, adding an island, adding quests, console... etc.) For the next big update, did you plan a wipe? What do you think about the meta pvp on the ground and the ship we are actually playing? Did you plan something for bringing more player for counter your very bad evaluation on steam? Does ship will go faster or official will have a smaller map for the early access because of the low population? Is there any possibility that the EU and NA server merge?

Are there any plans to make sailing in PvE fun? (or at least less boring) Are there any plans to allow solo players have fun? (like unlocking groupal content like the submarine for solo players) Are there any plans to remove decay? Are there any plans to make the game progression meaningfull? Are there any plans to make SotD grind worth it? Are there any plans to rework the skill tree? Are there any plans to make guns better than bow/crossbow? (as logic indicates it should be) Are there any plans to allow pirates to be free entities instead of feudal lord slaves?

and just a heads up our company leader just told me yesterday another 6 ships disapeared and it was written in company log, again: ship removed from company, bed removed from company, like it was last week, we move our ships, what is this, fix your buggy mess

Could the mobility of a horse be addressed please. It has a really bad turning circle and is a pain to ride/pull with. It's much worse than almost any other creature i can think of, definately far worse than a bear for example.
  19. 1 point
Sorry but thats what pirates do, they throw chickens at someones ship until it sinks. You didnt even need to board a ship you can just throw chickens from another ship, i think it was fixed by the fact that anchored ship can no longer be overcrewed or overweighted.

Ok, let's get back to improving the PVP aspects of the game now that this silly, single-play has finally been implemented. Please and thank you. Hopefully before the rest of the player-base has left or has been forced to play only within the single-mode... Grapeshot, your massively multiplayer first-and-third-person fantasy pirate adventure that can host up to 40,000 players exploring the same Globe simultaneously, with an unprecedented scale of cooperation and conflict, has unfortunately been reduced to a meager, single-play mode only. If you are wondering where most of your avid players are, many have left to play other games while the rest of us have gone back to ARK: Survival Evolved as we all wait for you guys to drastically improve Atlas. I for one, still hold a modicum of faith in your prowess to turn this game around...

There are small hitches if a very large structure has been destroyed, but general/more typical cases wouldn't have an impact.

A few days with multiple MMO Official server issues that need addressing, and tonights patch proves it to me. Tonights Patch addressed NOTHING on official. Only concern was all single player issues on a modded map, that again will never be an official server hosted. ANd now consoles. Am I wrong here? Are the MMO Players being punished for some reason? Nor was any comments on the forums addressed in regards to the ship going Poof issue. Yes Im pissed now.. I post about a ship... MY ship just randomly going "POOF" other players comment, we agree its a bug/issue and bring up many points on what the issue could be. Yet not a single response from anyone. So what then, in the next couple days here, you gonna let more players shit go "Vanish"? Already hardly online on the NA PVE server, each grid i sail all night long is 1 person me! and thats Daily from N11 to J11. I don't understand... I dont care about the poof and everything i lost with it. Just own up to it. let us know this is a problem you are aware and are addressing it. If players read the forums and come across that topic. and say to them self's. Ships can "poof" why would they want to play, or spend the time needed to build a ship. Only so it can randomly go bye bye? Its EA yep for sure. WIPE the servers again, ill come back. But dammit guys. A little communication WILL go a long way

Wow.... I can't believe they would put this on console in its current state. Cross Platform LOL You people are funny....

Oh let me assure you I’m quite familiar with Realist. If you look you will notice we have both been here since the beginning. On some things we have agreed, on some things we have not, but you know what I respect about him even when we disagree? He sticks to expressing his views without poisoning the discourse with personal attacks. However little you might think of him, have you ever seen personal insults on a game forum resolve or improve anything? One sign of maturity is the ability to disagree with someone without attacking them personally. Attack his ideas, positions or arguments to your hearts content, I have done so more times than I can count, but when you attack the person rather than the idea you lose me.

Nice, more development time that would have been needed to actually fix the game split even thinner.

All over it is putting it lightly. This is my backyard now. I will not have the same failure come about on my platform. i can only imagine the stupidity that it would take to even think about crossplay, let alone implement it. Smh they actually have a chance to become somewhat successful. Why blow it all away? console people don’t like pc people. It is actually that simple. I now have a new crusade. This crusade will be a very tireless one and without any regard for anyone else. i will stop it.

We’ll have further updates on this at a later time. For those not familiar with what the Pirate Encampments system is, you can read about it here: enforcement Our Enforcement protocol has been expanded to include temporary bans. This means that enforcement will now include three tiers of action rather than two: Temp bans, Permabans, and HWID bans. Whether your offence receives a temporary ban or not will be at the discretion of our Enforcement team. For the most part, temporary bans will likely be appropriate when enforcing against player misconduct, namely, chat related misconduct. Repeat offenders may receive longer bans, or in some cases, enforcement action will be escalated to permanent bans. Moving forward, in regards to some players feeling that what they said in-game was not deserving of a permaban: We work with the overall community and within our own company guidelines to identify what disruptive behavior and misconduct are and what the consequences for those behaviors should be. If your disruptive behavior has resulted in a permaban, it was either deemed highly excessive and harmful or this is not the first time you have been informed that your actions were inappropriate and unwelcome on our network. Please bear in mind that bans, both temporary and permanent, are seldom revoked. If you feel your ban was issued in error or seek clarification on the nature of your ban, bans can be appealed here live game patches v218.24 - Fixed a case where ships would enter a broken state where it visually appears to be unanchored, but you wouldn't have been able to move it. - Releasing a ship from a shipyard now has an activation timer - Fixed a bug which would cause players to throw items out of their inventory when rapidly pressing E to equip them - End of Magic Mythos event on Official Servers - Critical Save Changes to Non-ATLAS Dedi/Blackwood which fixes the following, but may require a save wipe: Players were randomly removed from their company Companies being deleted Being unable to spawn on beds Beds not appearing on the map Ships not appearing on the map Additional info on Blackwood/Non-ATLAS Dedi changes: v218.21 - Prevented the hotbar from outlining red with broken items when at the ship wheel - Fixed a bug which prevented melee attack with weapons whilst carried by Lion - Fixed a bug which caused players to lose most control of their characters after dying to exhaustion when shoveling (was previously solved by relogging) - Fixed a bug where buoys would not provide light and be desynced on the ocean at high waves - Fixed a bug which would not allow players to change the name of the ship if they hadn't previously given it a name (this only occurred when pressing accept without naming it, rather than cancel) - Fixed a bug where the reload mini game would not take effect when mounted on creatures - Multiple Misc Blackwood Level related fixes (floating foliage, ocean water transitions, holes). v218.21 - Fixed a crash which would occur when attempting to open a Dinghy's inventory - Fixed Advanced Able Mapmaker being unlocked by the wrong skill - Fixed Ship Max Level being erroneously counted by the Shipyard's current health rather than the total health. - Fixed dedicated servers not using passwords on Blackwood - Fixed a case when searching for Blackwood servers would cause only one to list at a time - Fixed a bug where corpses with inventories would not calculate their correct weight - Fixed a bug which wouldn't allow you to select the Home Server to change to on Unofficial Networks - You can now plant an assortment of seeds in Blackwood - Fixed multiple islands on Blackwood being marked as non-buildable - Fixed a bug where beds would sometimes not function on Blackwood - Fixed Shipwrecks spawning on the coast of islands in Blackwood - Fixed multiple foliage and terrain bugs with Blackwood - Moved the 'Exit to Main Menu' button to the bottom of the pause menu options v218.15 - Fixed a client-side crash (https://pastebin.com/U3QN7KyQ) - Blackwood content moved to optional DLC, for those who do not plan to play it and want to save the install size (10GB): https://store.steampowered.com/app/1129370/Blackwood__ATLAS_Expansion_Map/ - Added multiple treasure map locations per island for Single Player and Non-Dedicated Game Modes v218.14 - Client-side fix for Treasure Map crash v218.13 - Blackwood is available! So another night on the world of Atlas. Get home from work, fire up the game, Farm at lil bit at home, lil wood, lil thatch. FT (Fast Travel) to the island with Bamboo, farm a lil more, fix the dock up. Sweet, my chores are done, now onto the good stuff! Get in my Schooner, Trench Wench, armed with crew and a sub, head to M12 the Trench, launch my sub. Sweet again, killing crabs getting kera, killings squids getting residue. having a blast. Re-Attach to boat head back home N11, To the following: Alright, No worries, Dont Panic, whistle follow get em safe, then investigate.... And I Find the following in my Company Log: Please pay special note to the entry: Ship -1328532013 was added, then same ship ID was removed: (FROM What? being fully green anchored??) (and the other boat ID's and Bed's that wer removed I have no idea what those are, Nothing else at this time appears to be missing, however 1500hrs played I have not checked everything i have before making this thread. The boat that randomly disappeared, was a Mythic Skelly Birg, and Mw Canon's. Not too expensive, but shit i dont care all i do is farm resources, while my son kills SoTD's and my wife breeds her animals. What gets me pissed is "WHY" I thought we were passed this, and the reason why I say "past this" is because the only concern as of late with grapeshot, is single player, and Non Ded, Which again Cooi with me, there has been bugs, ya'll fixed em, move on, game on.. keep on giving your MMO players new stuff, tames, content, storage containers, ice cave, etc. etc. But a SINGLE CORE Aspect of the game being "Ships" and this Flaw/Bug/Exploit comes up at this at this Stage of Atlas. Launch V1: To Current V200.0 - After all that - And this still has a chance of happening, I've been with ya'll - Through Thick N Thin... But damn this one hurts.. To my core. Please Note: the boat that went "Poof" was built about a month ago, so me and my wife could go blow shit up ourselfs, since we lost our Son's Interest. And now, a Single bear that went hungry? and died? To what? Please Note: All Bears in backround" hard to see, but yo know what to look for. You may have lost me with the ship, but at the same day, moments later, you lost my wife with the loss of her 100% imprint bear. 100% Damn she enjoyed the game, thats dedication..

We've build limits in place for 2 reasons. The primary reason is that boats are considered dynamic platforms and each structure piece that gets added to one, the more the boat costs the server from a performance point of view. Dynamic structures are pretty expensive in general, which is why we have to introduce limitations. The limitations should vary across the different boats. Galleons allow more structures than Sloops. The second reason is for balance, we do have to limit the amount folks can build on certain boats so they don't get too ridiculous. It's by design that you cannot build as freely on a Galleon compared to a Sloop. If you're suggesting that the limits are actually the same across the boats, we'll look into it. It could be the case that the Brig and Gall are quite similar, but there should be a pretty significant/noticeable difference between the Gall and the Sloop.
