While I agree that travel time is bad and boring, there are multiple problems in play here not just speed, and they each come with their own issues as well. 1) We dont know that in game mechanics (speed sail BP) fix the issue we all keep complaining about because they are broken and Grapeshot hasn't fixed it. And as Grapeshot wont or cant (not a programmer there so I dont know which one) fix a problem we have talked about since the early launch there is no available discussion with the playerbase on how it is working. 2) Even if that was working it creates a few problem which I hope Grapeshot sees. A) The time invested to get BP sails for speed mean that companies that have been playing longer will outmatch potential new players and smaller companies driving them away from the game. B) Current PVP meta is people completely wipe everything you build/harvest from the game which drives people away because they now have to rebuild from nothing pushing people away from the game. This leads to the bigger issue in the end which is more people leave the game and it deepens the problem of distance to travel thus an increase in speed may not be the correct fix. As with your example the company you want to fight is to far away so you attack weaker companies which you know are not going to be the challenge you want and then creates problems for the smaller companies and potentially loops us further into issues I already put in above. Maybe the grid is to big for what we are trying to test for them? The big issue here that I see, is the amount of time it takes to get going into the game/do anything in this game. -If a mythic ship outclasses a basic ship (which it should) and a new player is sailing their schooner across the sea to find flotsam, maps, etc and is sunk over and over they say screw this game and quit: *Game design is flawed -If you build a ship and the current meta means your mythic ship (which took you weeks of farming overall) is possibly going to sink and be lost by a new game addition, lag rubberbanding, just launching it from a shipyard, etc, thus you dont sail cause who wants to build that again: *Game design is flawed. -if loosing a fight (or even a game glitch in PVE) means I have lost everything and requires weeks of rebuilding and prevents me from PLAYING your game: *Game design is flawed Going forward, @Jatheish and @Dollie need to discuss with upcoming patches what the Devs want to see happen with additions, then let us see if it fits their idea, or makes it worse. "Guys we think vitamins should work this way and give the in game experience this. End goal is you shouldnt always want to choose eating poop over cooking food" then let us respond after trying their method. Also things currently IN the game need to be fixed or removed so we can address things accordingly as well and not have post after post that say "sailing sucks" or "dont touch sailing I love it the way it is"..... we dont even have sailing working the way the game was designed yet (fix bp and let us tell you what's wrong and right) so we are testing an EA with one arm tied behind the back, two eye patches on, and hoping that a flying whale doesnt appear on the horizon.

The question and the poll are a bit to vague. Increase of the max-possible speed -> no Increase of the min-possible speed -> I am all for it. Decrease the no wind-time to be shorter. The reachable max-sail-speed with the correct setup is more than enough (especially now since we have cargo-racks). with 21 knots it takes u about 4 - 5 minutes to cross an entire server. On your way back (loaded) home even if you have to zic-zac, a speed of 14-15 knots is still very reachable and viable (crossing a server 7 - 10 minutes per server). So the max-sail-speed is not the problem - it's rather the lack of wind (low wind). We could talk about increasing the minimum sail-speed. But I am strongly against increasing the possible max-sail-speed, because that will just make raiding even more easy. The problems you mention are none for me and my company - they seem to be organisational issues of your big company. We don't have enemies more than 3 or 4 grids away we wan't to attack and the gathering is no problem. We can craft expensive mythical-bp without problem. It's a question of ships & weightmanagment, how you organise your time & company. Trading is an option as well. The fact you can't just roflstomp other ppl in only 3 till 4 hour that are more than 3 grids away is a good thing. It should be difficult to attack someone further away. And it gives the game actually some depth if you have to organise yourself for such an attack.

I mentioned this on the discord, and also put forward the idea of removing completely the low wind mechanic. Needless to say I was shot down by a myriad of what I can only assume are no lifers telling me to 'get good' and to 'time my sailing' better, then there were the people saying its fine and that they enjoy sailing. It wasn't received well. Which is just odd. Gameplay in my opinion.. should be engaging and fun. sailing is neither of those things atm. and FAR too time consuming. the fact that speed sails arnt being fixed because of overuse and troubles balancing doesnt help either. Im just glad to see other people that are of like mind like me, that dont want to spend hours upon hours doing nothing in game. (I stopped playing Ark for this very reason, everything in the game seemed to have been implemented just to slow you down and keep you in game) having said all that, Im still playing Atlas, as theres just enough to do besides massive journeys and endless sailing. im +1k hours so I like to think I have some idea of what im talking about, and I support this post. anything to get me across the map faster.

Hey devs, Can you please fix where pillars can be placed to the HUGE rocks under water. I really want to build a bigger dock/pier but yet I can't break these rocks at all. So please for the love of God allow us to break the rocks or fix the snap point to the rocks so we can build.

Scissors are made from metal. They should be able to cut human hair for YEARS before needing to be repaired. They cut HAIR, not titanium!!! It's petty, but you have to repair scissors more than any tool in the game. I can expertly fillet a tuna with the same pickaxe I just used to smash 20 rocks and the pickaxe needs less repair than scissors that I used to cut my 90 yr old hair.

Can we please get an option to TURN OFF the head follow on our tames?? It's so annoying that an animal will turn its head to look at you which then clips into the animal you're riding and now the animal you're riding is stuck. If the other tame doesn't look at me, there'd be room for me to ride past it, especially in tight quarters like a boat. It's a cool thing to watch, the first time your tamed T-Rex's head follows you in Ark. But that novelty has worn off a LONG time ago and it's more of a PITA with tames on small boats and trying to maneuver them around in Atlas. Please add the ability to turn off that "feature".

“By Dollie 06/13/2019 We have implemented a fix to stacking cannons in gunports. This fix will not apply retroactively to legacy cannons placed in this way. More than one cannon/launcher in a gunport is a build method we regard as an exploit and, with that in mind, players with cannons/torpedo launchers placed in this manner are on notice to cease actively using them in PvP and to remove these structures within the next 48 hours. Beyond this 48 hour grace period, ships running this build will be susceptible to enforcement action. Thank you.” I am at a loss, why are the same people that have exploited every other aspect of the game being allowed to make changes vs being actioned with consequences that might merit a change? Has this “Billy I told you stop Billy. Do not make me tell you to stop again Billy or I will tell you to stop again” method not taught you anything? It has taught those that exploit the game that the good graces you show them can be taken advantage of with no recourse for their repetitive actions. It has taught them that they can ruin the game for hundreds if not thousands and Grapeshot will continue to cater to them. It is beyond understanding why Grapeshot has not found a way to police these people from what is a fun game and by simple lack of real action has shown to be complicit to the steady death of this game. Do something tangible, other than to action the people that point out this inaction.

Ahoy m'artys! An update from us here at the Explore Atlas development team! We have recently put live our Beta version of the Player Tracker & Player Search. This will allow you to see how many players are in each ATLAS 'cluster' and server (Region). https://exploreatlas.co.uk/ On top of this, we added the ability to view which players are within the specific region you are looking at. Or, alternatively; you can search for players directly in our search bar to view which region they are in and how long they've been there We hope this helps when you're finding your way around ATLAS! Should you have any suggestions for us; please don't hesitate to come visit us at discord or catch up on one of our social media! https://discord.gg/s3Kr7mp https://twitter.com/explore_atlas https://www.facebook.com/exploreatlasgame/

I think a Ship which is anchored should also count like Land for the Cargo saddle with the 0.33 weight scale cause it whould make unloading a ship way more comfortabe then just throwing stuff over board then pick them up again and put them in the storage of the cargo saddle. Always having problems cause my Tames have to wait on Land to get filled up with all the stuff i collected else they are overweight on the ship even it is anchored and i just want to move them down from my ships

Increase default sailing speed, get rid of small wind. It takes extreme amount of time just to get somewhere. Whether it is enemies or rare resources (some resources are for instance 6 grids away from your location) it just takes too much time. For people who play 2-3 hours a day its practically impossible to do such things as go for a rare resources or go fighting more than 1-2 grids away. After 850 hours in this game I honestly think this will be a reason to quit for me. Ofc it can be highly subjective but as I talk to people in our company this bothers them too. I want to fight, I want to go for a rare resources to craft better things. But I really don´t want to invest SO MUCH just to get somewhere.

There's a beautiful galleon near me I'd gladly take over. Why let it go to waste? All boat pieces (planks, deck, masts, and steering wheel) should only be destroyed when scuttled. All other building items should be on the 10 day timer like a house. Once boat pieces hit a 10 day timer the steering wheel radial menu would have a claim option. If the wheel is locked behind a door you have to wait for the door /wall to be destroyable to get to it. No steering wheel? Once the boat pieces hit the 10 day, you need to place a steering wheel on a deck (not ceiling) to claim. Sounds like a fun "piratey" thing to do to help clean up the servers and have people race to claim boats left over.

I will admit that I can often be found "nodding off" during slow sailings.. but I still don't think that just increasing sailing speed is the answer. Nor do I want more mini games. And getting the bp +sailing velocity working should be high on the agenda. I don't even see why bp's even have an rng number on them. Bps should be straight up +10% velocity on Fine, +20% on Jm, +30% on Mw, +40% on Leg and +50% on Mythical. Simple, straight forward. And you can then rng wether a bp is + velocity or + durability or turning speed or weight reduction bonus as well. Also remove the rng number of items from loot, make getting the bp's fairly rare, maybe 1-2 bps every 5-6 kills. Instead of 50 bps every 3-4 kills. 95% of which I usually throw away.

I think you are ignoring the fact that you have to go where the wind takes you, not I want to go there because I want to. Even if there is no wind or its in the wrong direction. Second there are times when you can do other things besides "just get there." Three hours away and three hours back to do a trip sounds like bad planning, maybe decide what you really need and where you need to go to get it. Maybe they will come up with a trade wind or something, but it will just get exploited by others and it will be used against you. Then it will be a mega OP thread or some other rant to turn the tables in your direction again. No wind would actually be a terrible thing to remove as it will take the planning/strategy completely out of sailing. Frustrating as it can be it can make for interesting situations with enemies, storms etc. Its not a motorboat/speedboat game.

mythic sail bps? I was told they do nothing. I think that would help but I am pretty sure they don't want to turn on the sails because a guy cruising up on somebody with +30% on all large speed sails would be insane. Just hit and run all day long. Intercept everybody everywhere! I don't know how you would balance something like that to people that don't have access to that level of BP. ~Lotus

My company had an area that we were building on, and another company, Mario Bros. started building on top of our location when we removed an item to rebuild. We left it in peace because we did not want to have any troubles. Today, 6/15/19 the company Mario Bros. member -z- -m- specifically, was trying to get us to remove our floor block so they can take over our spot. We were willing to let them take an area on the other side of our lighthouse, but he got upset and demanded we remove our base. They then proceded to place many signs around our base, and along the edges, saying.... game over. We noticed that one of our company ships was then "swallowed" up by two of their ships... I am now unable to leave our ship because I am glitched inside their ship on our ship. The owner of our ship is unable to access or move their ship and they were very upset that we are being griefed like this... cheat TP K4 250127 -278998 64 Please help soon.. I am about to die and I have made all new equipment and don't want to lose it. Thank you, Grimgarwald

Yeh I admit I like to have them as windows, to let natural light in (as far as natural goes in a virtual world) I don't like the change either, nor see the point in them. There's no reason why people couldn't use them to manually shoot from in pvp for example. It is a gun port afterall, should it really matter if a cannon is there or some guys using crossbows?

Network: PVE NA Grid: e9 Description of issue: Large ship disappeared. We were actively on this ship. Lots of hours put into it. We would like for Dev's to give us ship 955123119 back! It just says shipped removed but we were on it so not sure how it would just vaporize. Please fix, countless man hours gone! Any screenshots or video demonstrating the bug: Attached.

So a submarine can roll into a bay where defenses are built and ships are anchored, is able to draw fire from NPC fortifications and other NPCs on anchored ships in such a way as to not take damage or be susceptible to damage while the fortified canons and ships kill their own ships. This is just stupid. How about change the setting for NPCs to exclude or include firing at submarines so someone in a sub can't grief with impunity.

For a temporary fix its okay, but i like to have a few gunports on my Cargo galls for unloading stuff.

If you're in 1st or 3rd person you have to angle the viewpoint down into the rock in order to receive the resources, if your camera is above, your stamina and pick/axe durability continues to reduce, but you get no resouces. Even though you're still hitting the rock and getting the rock being hit sounds. The weird part about this, is if you look down and start hitting the rock and then turn the camera up, you still get the resources but if you start with camera angled back too far, even though you can hit the rock.. you get nothing until you actually look down at the rock without changing position.

As Dragfire says, under Behaviour you can Disable Ally Looking. The main problem is not the looking, it's that the collision results in stuck animals which is bloody stupid and shitty, shitty programming.

To turn off that feature, go under the behavior option in the tames options.

Grenades had some changes to them applied recently. We reduced their damage specifically against players, NPC Crew, and creatures. We also increased their weight. We're open to doing more changes, but we're waiting to see how these current ones play out. Definitely not going to be introducing a 5 minute equip timer on anything, though!

Definitely needed. Perhaps a Mutiny button could be added to the company panel. If the owner account is active, mutiny from 'admin' ranked members would require a simple majority, with ownership being transferred to randomly to one of the admins that pushed the Mutiny button. If a majority of admins isn't achieved, mutiny from non-admins would require 75% of membership to click the Mutiny button and ownership would be transferred randomly to an admin who voted in favour, or to a non-admin if no admins voted in favour. The owner should get a constant big fuck off red text "Your crewmates are mutinying!" while a mutiny is active. They should have a 'suppress mutiny' button that cancels the current leadership challenge and prevents further challenges for two weeks. If the owner account hasn't logged in for 2 weeks, those numbers should be reduced. For the purposes of calculating majorities, any accounts that haven't logged in for 2 weeks should not be counted.

I recently started playing Again because of the recent patches that made breeding easiere, however coming from ark, I found it slightly troublesome to breed on atlas. For me to breed on atlas i had to use the mechanic "enable wandering", which forced me to to spam "all stop" whistle(other players making pens to make them stop wandering). In ark, wildcard recently added a feature called "enable mating", which does the same thing as "enable wander" except that it doesn't wander away or forces me to guild a pen or spam whistles to make it stand still for the mating. I hope you will look taking this feature from ark and implement it into atlas, i don't believe that "enable wandering" is intended for breeding animals, but for the creature to simple wander around the vicinity and interact with the enviroment with it's neutral or aggressive stance. "enable mating" would be a good quality of life change for many people.

The cargo racks overcome their speed penalty at a very low weight. I find it super useful to carry 700 building pieces and be faster then the guy with 150 and no rack.

Except in 1 crucial detail: time invested in farming the BPs, farming the 6 materials, farming the mythos, surviving the farm phase, leveling a specialized INT based character to 1,4k Intelligence, taming a crow, and finally crafting the 200% sail takes less than 1 day for a zerg company. To everyone else... And for what, in the end? So that zerg admins and leaders have the pleasure to hunt down and destroy bob ships effortlessly, tipping the game balance even further. For a person who seems smart, you sometimes seem incredibly short sighted. This week ATLAS player base dropped further: in the night of mega update, during the peak hours, it had just 6k players. That is a drop from the starting 12k, since the wipe. Now divide that number by 2 and that is the number of pvp players. Divide that further by 2 and you have the number of official players. Further division by 2 reveals the NA player count and EU player count on pvp. For how much longer will the zerg more have the pleasure of blasting the smaller tribes with their 220% cannons, do you think? Well, the answer begins to be quite clear to me..

Should slow down 10% not 40, now it is useless and sailing is already boring af.
