    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

I'm not sure, that it is bug, but I think so. We were fighting kraken, our enemy's comapany came very close to the outer border of the barrier. When we killed kraken, they also got achievement and submarine engram.

Zerg are the poison of Atlas. Especially French and Spanish- they are all connected between themselves on EU, it can easily fit 200 players. How are small companies to fight and resist those bastards.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Regardless is people disagree or not, I don’t believe that survival and mmo mix. the only way all of that would work would be to completely get rid of the survival aspect of the game which I am all for. no more drinking, eating, vitamins. Nothing. Just a way to heal yourself when your health gets low. i would never see anyone focused on government when they are still worrying about getting their base own out or starving to death. some of your ideas are pretty good but they would only be good with completely getting rid of the survival aspect of the game. I do hope they get rid of the up keep survival pretty soon. Less time trying to eat and drink is more time questing or doing the above you mentioned. the only problem with the government system isn’t the devs, it’s the players. The type of players that play this game will always have a rust/ark mindset. The government idea will never happen with this playerbase. Even if they devs try to force it. which they could very well force it by completely changing the game and make choosing positions in a government a mandatory mechanic. Which would take away from the sandbox part which I am also fine with. less freedom and more structure would be good for the game

All known bugreports and other poo which just will not be fixed since (or almost) the beginning. If you want to keep on looking like fools, you’re doing an awesome job then. -Tamingbug. Pressing E doesnt work, elephants and giraffes are dramatic to tame. It was perfect in the first week untill someone at your office got a brainfart. Unbrainfart this please. -Bolas have the habit of not bolaing. Even when you stand next to an animal. Still not fixed. -Animals spawning inside bases. Even thru 2 stacked stone floors. Still not fixed. -Tames still falling thru floor. Sigh. Why can a modbuilder fix this and you (paid for the job) can’t? Still not fixed. -Snakes attack thru stone walls. And kill. Still not fixed. -Treasuremap locations still can be build on. Comes in pretty handy, but not. -Found 7 different locations of maps wich are bugged. Nothing happens when standing on top of them. Still not fixed. -Upgraded tools keep on dissapearing from toolbar after picking them up and needs to be replaced each time into the correct slot. Still not fixed. -When walking in the water and trying to walk over a floor, sometimes we get launched and splatter to death. Still not fixed. -Using climbingpicks can result into insta-dead and loss of all inventory. No sachet to be found. Seems fixed. -Lions/tigers pick you up while they attack you. What’s the use of this? Tamed ones cant do the same trick. -Wolves have a crazy habit of jumping like mad over your head. Almost impossible to get to them. -Treasuremaps in bottles give the sound of being picked up, but do not show up in inventory. Still not fixed. -Entire pieces of floor are dissapearing after placing them. Nothing in logs to be found. Still not fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - We cant find the skin, the truly "You make this game great" one. Anyone know where to get it? Sigh. -Armour keeps on dissapearing or being replaced by the normal bp. Comes in handy when fasttravelling to cold/hot biomes and there's only half an armourset. Still not fixed. -When sailing and walking on ship catapults characters to the other side of the ship or even off it. Still not fixed. -Sharks attack like crazy since last patch. THEY DO NOT DE AGGRO ANYMORE?? This post will be updated when I found something new OR if something will be fixed.

We were doing some nice fights on the sea and in enemy harbors yesterday. We probably discovered new toxic meta. You can build everywhere and everytime rn. We were on our gally in their harbor and owners simply put large shipyard behind our backs and blocked us completely. We destroyed that harbor and were moving away with gally, bam, big wall placed directly in front of us so we crashed into it. So rn you can't go to enemy harbors with your ships because you will get blocked with spammed large walls. You can practically wall enemy ship in a few seconds. There should be some kind of building cooldown if there is a fight going. I strongly advise everyone not to go inside enemy harbor until they fix this.

There were actually some good changes that were made during this last update. The thing is the changes weren’t drastic enough. This is the time to make a really big choice. Either get rid of the survival aspect of get rid of the mmo aspect. Yes mmo really only means a lot of people on one map but other parts come with that You guys will end up failing if you trying to do both. there will never be an economy or government if you stick with the survival aspect. If I were to give you my opinion on what to choose it would be to get rid of the survival aspect of the game completely and totally. you might disagree but this is still very much ark. It is still build a base, build a boat and go raid people. and with companies instead of factions I see very little that isn’t just ark survival evolved. the update did bring in slightly more players than i thought but the peak before the wipe was announced was 25k and the peak now is 12k with this weekend peaking at 11k already. so yes this updated and the changes increased the numbers by 10k during the wipe phase but it only brought back half of the people from before the wipe. not dumping on you guys for wiping by the way. It was a needed choice of course. The changes needing to be more drastic though. even though I think companies in general needed to be eliminated, if your choice is to keep them you need to make them as small as possible. If people really want big groups then do factions. Even if you aren’t part of the same group and don’t play together? Who cares, you are in the same factions. At the very least it would enable a LFG function to where people from the same factions could group up to accomplish certain goals. The other good news is they couldn’t be betrayed because they would be in the same faction. so he is my half compliment half realization. You guys have been doing a very good job getting more communication out there and I will applaud you for showing you do care by trying to make this big changes. That you have done a good job on. as far as the actual decisions go, or lack intensity of those changes this is where the compliment ends. If you are not looking at the big picture you see the numbers went up from the 2k to the 11k it currently is, which is true small picture. Big picture is a different story. In all reality they have lost half of their playerbase since the wipe was announced. You can look at 2 up to 12 all you want. But it is really 25 down to 12. so to end it, time to choose. Mmo or survival. Both will be a fail

Attention Devs!!!! THIS!!! Here we have a company who’s claimed an island and is ADVERTISING for other players to come there. Why? Because almost NOBODY WANTS TO SET UP ON SOMEONE ELSES LAND! Your “new” claim system offers absolutely no reason at all settle on claimed territory. The only benefit is to the owner in PVE!!!!! Nice ad by the way. Except every island has resources.

They really brought it on themselves. You want to be a mega or a big company? Guess what, you just got some responsibility added to you. As a mega or a big company you shouldn’t even be raiding anyone. And I mean never raiding whatsoever. You are the peace keepers now. You are the government. Just like the world powers, it’s your job to sit there and intervene if the smaller groups are getting attacked by bigger groups. The Megas should be the trading companies and economy builders. Never raiders. here is where the blame is placed on you. Megas haven’t learned their place yet. Go ahead tell me I’m wrong. There are now raid windows because of you. Bosses have been nerfed because of you. If you knew your place none of these changes would have had to be made. Don’t blame the small companies because you only have yourselves to blame. You don’t like easy mode? Don’t be the cause of it(yeah you are). You want to be able to raid whenever you want? Don’t be in a mega/big company. the one reason and only reason I don’t mind that Megas are still around is that they will single handedly cause this game to be so easy that even a casual player that only plays a few hours a day can get everything in game. They will try to blame the little guy but in all reality they only have them selves to blame. they will learn the place eventually or this game will become what the casuals want it to be. Go ahead and tell me I am wrong. It’s already happening.

The idea that dividing islands does not work on PVP is megacorp thinking, if colonies was actually small tribes and solos as originally promoted this would be a none issue. Just look at the real world there is always divided lands in the world that people are fighting over to redraw the boundaries. That is why I promote the hex grid because it allows flexible redrawing of boundaries. Work to gain power to take over larger islands a hex at a time - it should not be given to you just because you are the faster gold farmer.

I think this is an oversimplification of something that has multiple factors affecting it. If it's incumbent on megas to be the peacekeepers and never raid, we can pretty much count on that never happening. It would just run counter to why the vast majority of pvp players even play. Pretty sure almost no one got excited about Atlas and signed on for EA because they thought it was a diplomacy sim. I can just see the marketing slogans now: Sit through hours of complex multi party negotiations delineating breathtaking territorial and travel rights treaties! Threaten small guilds with the gaming equivalent of a time out if they don't play nice with each other! Become the school yard cop, using your muscle to keep bullies in line preemptively! Enjoy the adrenalin rush of slow incremental progress toward hegemony and peaceful cooperative play!

I agree that players don't have the right to tell each other how to play as long as they are staying within the game's Code of Conduct etc, but if you think no megas go after smaller companies, then I have some questions for you: Do they have a post office in your world? Local government? Or is everything just run by the pink elephants? Your friend's mega may not go after smaller companies, but this is nowhere close to universally true. In fact I would wager heavily that it's closer to the opposite. Most megas in a competitive environment will go after low hanging fruit, that is just the nature of competition for finite resources. By the same token that Realist doesn't have the right to tell others how to play, you don't get to piss on our legs and try to tell us it's raining. Your friend's mega may not target smaller fish, but that would make them more the exception than the rule.

Lol ofc this post comes from someone who doesn´t play the game. Raid windows because of megas. Game is for casual players because of megas man just stop, you lack experience.

I don't know why it happening but so far ALL MY TREASURES are spawn in the very top of cliffs. It's not just "hard to get to" cliffs, but those - "no human suppose to be there". - I saw half of Army of Damned (AoD) falling down after spawn. I summoned them 4 times searching them far below - and keep seeing the message "no digging one guard is up" - I saw AoD spawned on tiny ledge where I suppose to jump in from my pick and somehow zerg all solders together, surviving all damage they land at me. One step aside and I falling to my death. - I saw AoD fall to the ocean, where I just didn't have enough stamina to destroy all solders and there were no island to regain it. - I saw AoD fall to the ocean, opposite side of any available ways back to the top and I just didn't have enough time to jump down and then back to dig a treasure. - I once just didn't have enough stamina to climb to the top. I tried like 30 times from different places. And guess what happened last time? Oh they were there: I hit my climbing pick and died. DEVs, do you know that climbing pick still randomly kills people? And when they do - no corpse left, and all stuff you had (including treasure map) is gone forever. Is that ADVENTURE OF LIFETIME - sail 2.5 hours, hit climbing pick, die, and sail back 2.5 hours - just naked, freezing to death? I'm sorry for being rude, but this last time game should not say: 'you died". it should say "ha-ha-ha f...ck you!" At least it would be honest. Is that changes you made with this 1.5? Well - they are bad one. Why did you do that? So things would not be that easy with tames? Well - things now just screwed. I just keep wasting my game experience. Because I spend hours and hours TO SAIL FOR NOTHING! (around 30% of your EU PVE servers are lagging as heal for me btw, so now it's not just sailing - it also 33% of torture). So I just curious - how we suppose to do it? Should we bring like 200 roofs, foundations and pillars with us, to build a stairways maybe?

One of the main issues oif course is that both the handling and weight sails are in the wrong direction to what they would be on a real ship. But we do need correct sails. We could also do with a working bowsprit complete with its sails
  25. 1 point
I do notice sometimes that in real life the position of handling sail would not just provide any speed. Sometimes it even should work as a break parachute. Like here. Question is - why this handling sail filled with a wind FROM OPPOSITE SIDE of where wind actually blowing? Or here. In this case this handling sail should not provide me any speed, but break be down instead: There must to be done something with it. Because now it's just...

The annoyance was the point. Prior to colonies companies like ctsg had 20 companies already. With a 50 limit then might have to try and manage 50 that can't all be allied. Who knows, maybe they might even cop the social credit penalty and actually play against each other for a change in the new meta? We can only hope....... Or nah, just raise the limit I guess.....

Love how viable arguments that don't agree with the idea get simply ignored and not even botherd answering... There are many more arguments to the entire list I wrote above that explain why this won't work. Everyone here praising the idea seems to completly forget how many trolls and nasty people are around. Everyone seems to think, they would only get good neighbour and everything is love & peace. Which is never the case! What you gonna do if the one guy that has the sugar-spawns in his part feels funky and builds and entire wall around his land (metal is copper in that case)? What do you do if u have land in the middle and get built in? Can't even leave your island anymore? There are so so many diffrent scenarios that are so much more likely than random ppl sharing an Island in peace. And if you are not random people sharing an Island then you might as well work together now allready and take an Island. Btw still waiting for a solution of the biggest issue: how would the war-time be decided and how to prevent this being massivly abused and create Islands that are non-raidable. People also seem to forget that owning an Island and actually keeping it has very little to do with the available land. There is enough land available. There are still Islands claimable right now - and no I am not talking about some shitty land in the Arctic-regions, good land in good regions. Actually keeping the Island is the hard part. Beside the upkeep there is the defense that is absolute key. The idea of splitting Island will actually make it harder. And nobody in their right mind will share an Island because of this exact reason. Maybe this idea can be something for PvE - I don't know. But it is absolutly not viable in PvP.

I think we found it .... If any technician should read this ... we found out what it is: Since we started building on a wooden platform and only later pulled pillars down, all connected structures seem to be part of the wooden platform's structure limit. As soon as we build from a different foundation (unfortunately it doesn't snap to the original building), no components disappear anymore. But as soon as we raise the wall on the wooden platform by only 1 or build a railing somewhere ... somewhere at the main building a random component disappears. Dragging a workaround down over pillars ... adding snappy pillars back up didn't help. We try it now with foundations ... Kind regards

He thinks it's just a wasted mechanic. But maybe it is easier to make it additive tax than actually take it out completely, because it may not be easy to remove it entirely for PvE and keep it for PvP. But I have no idea because i'm not involved in the development, all I know is the way it is now hurts no-one so there's not point in making a fuss about it. He says it's another stupid mechanic added to the game, but this mechanic wasn't added, it was changed. People like to fuss about stuff that doesn't need fussing over.

I understand where you are coming from and what the Idea should achieve, but it won't. At least not in PvP. There are many points not discussed and thought about in your idea: - You opperate with the premisse that these Island-parts would get available then and create land to own. Which they won't. Because this would mean weak defense. One piece of land in enemy hands is enough to start dooms day. It gives room for mortas, ramps for bear (those 58+ foundation range will cover a lot then) and much more. If you wan't to protect your land, you can not leave defense in someone elses hand like that. Therefore everyone that claims Islands and also actually hold them (which many don't) will claim the entire Island. - what would happen with the war-time? south has war-time, the east-side not and so on. Do you know the mess and abuse this creates? Allready now the Peace-Phase creates some things that are not really optimal. Imagine one part of the Islands is owned by a solo-dude that leaves for holidays. His defences are not the greatest, and his war-timer is when you are all sleeping. Next morning you wake up and someone took his land. They changed the timer to counter your timer and now they besiege you. BUT their land is in peace, so you can't kill them. They just run to their land and keep nuking you. This would also create a complete broken OP way of perma safe your ships. Every part has diffrent war-timer and you just moves your ship & tames from peace-zone to peace-zone. Ofc this is done now as well, but at least you have to sail to the next Island. How does this make good pvp? Imagine this in the hand of strong companies! Such Island will never be raidable and claimable. It will push all the big dogs that are bussy fighting each other currently, to go after the small ones. It will make them completly untouchable. - Someone might now bring the argument: well the people will have to work together to hold the Island. I am sorry but I call bullshit on this. If this would be an option for the people not owning land now, why do you not use it now? Beause we do! We are a small company and own & hold 2 Islands. We used the entire time before wipe and on PTR to practice and plan our claim. We found our settlers all ready on the PTR and everyone was working together to our common goals. It was hard work, but it is very doable. We have 5% taxes and amazing settlers that love being with us. They are btw happy to not have the responsibilty of owning and protecting the land but still being a very big part of the Island and contribute. - The Islands and Servers are so extremly unbalanced that Blackbeard truns himself in his grave. This would make it even worse. There are entire Islands right now that are completly useless. They have no till very few ressources. Broken spawns and so on. There are even entire servers that are worthless because key-ressources are missing (no ingots as example). And then there are this extremly broken OP servers with shit like 3 diffrent types of every single ressources (including gems). Most of the Island that are somewhat viable right now, are only viable because of their entire Island. Breaking them into peaces will not create viable land. I think if the devs would work over the Islands in terms of ressources and spawns and fix that -> this would create new land to own and actually stay there & hold it succesfully. We have an Island on our Server that had nobody owning it more than 2 days... And it's even a big one for 46 points. During our prep-work we came accross so many small Island perfect for solo-players that are simply not viable. It is not possible to reasonable live and grow there. You are to much nerfed by the broken ressourecs and spawns that your defences will be lacking. Again - I understand where the idea comes from. But it is not thought through till the end. There is btw still claimable land around - go get it!

How about no. If you get the blue feed notification, you should be able to feed, period. This process is broken, period. It must be fixed. Stop defending broken game mechanics. The entire system is lazy programming. It looks nothing at all like taming. You don't repeatedly, nearly kill something and force feed it, to tame it. Never in the history of mankind taming creatures, has this ever been employed as a method of taming. And something trapped, doesn't automatically escape every two minutes. This system is absurd, and MUST be replaced with something that makes sense.

I don't want landlord on top of me in th game. what is unclear with that? Ability to set tax on you only flagged piece of land adding a bit of fun to the game. Nothing special. Example: imagine polar region and you flag the only spot with trees (they are rare there). And then you enjoy free wood resources : - ) WIth 1 pillar per person there will be enought land for everyone. Everyone will be able to own piece of land, sowe all will be equal, we all will be landlords. No slavery.
  41. 1 point
The issue lays in developer's approach: they care about PVP and designing game for PVP. Then they just trying to adopt and reuse PVP design for PVE. And this is incorrect. This is developer's mistake: PVE not always can use the same game mechanics as PVP. How I would see right appoach: claim flags as before wipe. But only 1 flag per person. No additional bonuses to company. Cokmpany benefit from number of memebrs. Claim owner can determine tax and can allow/prohibit other player buildings. Unclaimed land - eveybody can build. Once build - structure can't be removed by land owner. If eventually existing/new owner prohibit construction - other player who already own buldings in the zone can continue construction without expanding. or Just use lawless (ARK-like) approach. This will cause pillars spawn and it is worse then 1 flag claims, but it is defintely better then what we have now. I COME TO GAMING TO BE FREE OF LANDLORS AND BOSSES! ENOUGH OF THOSE IN RL! GIVE US WHAT WE WANT! FREEDOM! FREEDOM! DREEDOM!!!

If I am an island owner, here's how I look at the suggestions - many of the small islands only have 1 or 2 good spots to build. People grab those first, even if they don't want to claim the island. That's a mistake, because whoever is paying the upkeep is going to feel they should have at least 1 of those spots. I know I would. Nobody is going to come along later and claim that island if they can't destroy some of that stuff. And if you don't want a landlord, you just build over the resources, and then nobody would ever want to claim that island. I don't know,, it looks like we are just coming up with more and more complicated systems to do something that could be a lot simpler - everyone gets to claim land with limits based on company size. With the old claim system with claims caps in place, I would go looking for land like this - 1. Do I like this biome? 2. Is there land available here? 3. If there anything awful right next to me? (Giant stone boxes, companies with racist or otherwise nasty names, etc) 4. How are the resources? And then I'd claim the land. With this new system, I'd still do all that, and then I'd have to worry about the landlord if there was one. Will he destroy my stuff? Will he let other people build stuff 2 tiles away from mine? Will HE build stuff 2 tiles away from mine? Is he going to let bunches of objectionable companies build on the island? (Sorry, but I am just not up for spending my free time hanging out with "Sexy Grandpa", or "N**erbomb"... names I have really seen in the game) If the land is not claimed, then I have to check to see if anybody else has already done any of those things, because I can't destroy their stuff if the timer's already gone off. And if I do destroy their stuff, then I get to be the mean landlord for destroying their stuff. Then assuming I jump all those hurdles, and claim land, there are the rules - you can't destroy anyone's stuff if the first thing they built was more than 12 hours ago, unless they are doing "excessive building", then you can destroy their stuff (just the excessive stuff?), and they can have a deed flag, and you can't destroy anything inside the deed. Or I do all those things and become a settler. I can build , but I have to wait 12 hours to see if I can stay, and then I can stay, but I can't expand "excessively", and I have to worry about what the landlord thinks and what he's going to do and who he's going to let build around me. It gets way too complicated. When do I just get to have a piece of land that I can control, and go out sailing and have some adventures? Why do I have to be a landlord at the mercy of some tenant, or a tenant at the mercy of some landlord when I just want to be a pirate?

Uhm, there is no need for them to put out "5000 islands"... if they would have kept some version of the old claim system, but with a limit on how many flags you can own, the problem would have been solved or at least almost non-existent... Cause there would have been a LOT more land for everyone! Not just companies with 5 members or more. As a solo player, then you could have had maybe 1 or 2 claims. Now, instead, a few companies own the whole Atlas, and the rest of the population is told to rent or go to lawless. When there was a much more fair solution that they could have implemented instead. I don't know how many times I saw players suggest to the developers to simply limit the amount of claims, and scale it according to Company size. I am sorry but this system is deeply unfair. We all paid the same amount of money for the game and should all have a Fair chance at owning a piece of land, However small it would be. I am not a greedy person, I don't need an island. Just a small claim for a shipyard, a base, but I want it to be my own, don't wanna be at the mercy of a landlord. The old claim size was perfect. It was enough for a base for a solo person or small company. They could have limited something like: 1 claim for solo player, 2 claims for 5 person Company, 5 claims for 10+ Company, and so on. With a max of maybe 15-20 claims for the larger companies. Most people would have been able to see the fairness of such a system. But instead they went with this and it makes me sad cause I really have loved this game from the start but it is getting so frustrating with this unfair system.

It makes more sense if you go back to January or early Feb. and think about what the players were really saying. Nobody wanted a whole island for themselves, all everybody wanted was a claim. So if they make a claim be an entire island, and people still want a claim....this is what you get. And that's why so many people didn't like this idea. The whole thing seems like a huge exercise in miscommunication now, although some of that misunderstanding may have been on purpose. Players - We can't get a claim and we want to have land. (Meaning they want a claim) Devs - oh, they want to "have land". ---come up with a landlord tenant system and says this is to help solos and small companies. Says now everybody can "have land". Players - Think they can now "have land", meaning "have a claim", and then find out once again, there aren't enough claims for solos and small companies. Looking back over what's happened and what's been said it seems fairly goofy to have played out like this.

NPCs should repair the WHOLE ship not just Hull.

I would love to see some actual bow sprits that work.... staysails between the masts. And the ability to grapple a ship and pull it closer when at sea or docking.

To piggyback off of ship changes.. A few things I would like to see from ships: Better ship physics (Such as not being fixed to the sea floor when anchoring, and still floating on top of the water, or not insta-stopping when dropping the anchor) Anchor mods to allow deeper anchoring, maybe a mod for purchase at a freeport or such Flags on top of the masts - They look pretty naked and bare right now No longer clipping through walls and falling out of the back of the ship when it's in motion. This is especially bad when spawning at a bed on a moving ship

Maybe you accidentally pressed "G" There is an option on the left side of your inventory screen to show/hide tooltips.

im in a two person company and your post makes my eyes bleed you don't have the right to tell anybody how to play. my friend is in a mega company and they only attack other mega companies so you need to relax my friends mega company doesn't go after small companies its not worth it to them and he has big allies and they don't as well.
