Manage all the servers on your Cluster with Atlas Server Control. If you want to run all the servers from one machine, you can do that too. Mod support, yes. Automatic updates? Absolutely. The Server Grid Editor has been integrated and config editing has never been easier! Even the Redis Database is taken care of by ASC. Some Basic Information - During the first run of Atlas Server Control, SteamCMD will be installed and the Setup Wizard will start. - ASC is Beta and will contain bugs and unfinished code, there will be buttons that do nothing and minimal error handling increasing chances of crashes. - I strongly recommend a clean installation of ATLAS Server Control. This will ensure no permission related issues arise. - ASC contains a Setup Wizard to assist with creating a new map or importing an existing. RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR If you dont, you'll endure days of pain and suffering. Items to be addressed - Scheduler needs refactoring and features completed - Server Grid Editor implementation is third-pass, still more work needed. - More than a dozen instances of (OMG) code that needs rewriting (still). Wiki is Here I'll try to answer questions when I have time, which unfortunately is not very often. Don't forget, there is a lot of unfinished work in this release, if something is not working, it's probably not complete. Downloads Download HERE - (Guilded Support Community)

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

All known bugreports and other poo which just will not be fixed since (or almost) the beginning. If you want to keep on looking like fools, you’re doing an awesome job then. -Tamingbug. Pressing E doesnt work, elephants and giraffes are dramatic to tame. It was perfect in the first week untill someone at your office got a brainfart. Unbrainfart this please. -Bolas have the habit of not bolaing. Even when you stand next to an animal. Still not fixed. -Animals spawning inside bases. Even thru 2 stacked stone floors. Still not fixed. -Tames still falling thru floor. Sigh. Why can a modbuilder fix this and you (paid for the job) can’t? Still not fixed. -Snakes attack thru stone walls. And kill. Still not fixed. -Treasuremap locations still can be build on. Comes in pretty handy, but not. -Found 7 different locations of maps wich are bugged. Nothing happens when standing on top of them. Still not fixed. -Upgraded tools keep on dissapearing from toolbar after picking them up and needs to be replaced each time into the correct slot. Still not fixed. -When walking in the water and trying to walk over a floor, sometimes we get launched and splatter to death. Still not fixed. -Using climbingpicks can result into insta-dead and loss of all inventory. No sachet to be found. Seems fixed. -Lions/tigers pick you up while they attack you. What’s the use of this? Tamed ones cant do the same trick. -Wolves have a crazy habit of jumping like mad over your head. Almost impossible to get to them. -Treasuremaps in bottles give the sound of being picked up, but do not show up in inventory. Still not fixed. -Entire pieces of floor are dissapearing after placing them. Nothing in logs to be found. Still not fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - We cant find the skin, the truly "You make this game great" one. Anyone know where to get it? Sigh. -Armour keeps on dissapearing or being replaced by the normal bp. Comes in handy when fasttravelling to cold/hot biomes and there's only half an armourset. Still not fixed. -When sailing and walking on ship catapults characters to the other side of the ship or even off it. Still not fixed. -Sharks attack like crazy since last patch. THEY DO NOT DE AGGRO ANYMORE?? This post will be updated when I found something new OR if something will be fixed.

Love how viable arguments that don't agree with the idea get simply ignored and not even botherd answering... There are many more arguments to the entire list I wrote above that explain why this won't work. Everyone here praising the idea seems to completly forget how many trolls and nasty people are around. Everyone seems to think, they would only get good neighbour and everything is love & peace. Which is never the case! What you gonna do if the one guy that has the sugar-spawns in his part feels funky and builds and entire wall around his land (metal is copper in that case)? What do you do if u have land in the middle and get built in? Can't even leave your island anymore? There are so so many diffrent scenarios that are so much more likely than random ppl sharing an Island in peace. And if you are not random people sharing an Island then you might as well work together now allready and take an Island. Btw still waiting for a solution of the biggest issue: how would the war-time be decided and how to prevent this being massivly abused and create Islands that are non-raidable. People also seem to forget that owning an Island and actually keeping it has very little to do with the available land. There is enough land available. There are still Islands claimable right now - and no I am not talking about some shitty land in the Arctic-regions, good land in good regions. Actually keeping the Island is the hard part. Beside the upkeep there is the defense that is absolute key. The idea of splitting Island will actually make it harder. And nobody in their right mind will share an Island because of this exact reason. Maybe this idea can be something for PvE - I don't know. But it is absolutly not viable in PvP.

I have used a diving platform on a sloop before, not sure if it is still possible. It was used to build a harbor with docks which needed 20+ pillars deep every few meters. The small sloop was handy for navigating through small spaces because of all the ships, rocks etc.

Hiho In the past there was an option in the claim flag wheel to change the build allowance but now i dont have these option. Is this a bug or is there another way to change? Thanks for help :)

Which is exactly why wargames have used hex grids for decades. Make them small and they can very easily follow coasts, rivers, and mountains. You could have a hex grid small enough that it cost only 1g - barely enough to fit a hut. But spend 20g you could go up the river, down the coast and over to the mountain. The very reason that it is arguable how you would macroslice something is why you use a microgrid. With hexes you could have someone own the sahara, someone owns the coasts, someone else owns the middle east, someone else owns the congo with a hermit living in Madagascar. In time that map of who owns what could change (because the game meta changes) because the grid is granular enough it has inherent flexibility to shift borders. Or you could have a several dozen solos all coexisting without building on top of each other. Or you could have the megacorp spending 100g owning and risking it all at one location.

Fantastic Service! Just departed and could not be happier - I even used my discount to help another sailor out. I will be back - and the rest of you who are not specced for taming - use the service, its brilliant. Malaria Mason (Mal)

He thinks it's just a wasted mechanic. But maybe it is easier to make it additive tax than actually take it out completely, because it may not be easy to remove it entirely for PvE and keep it for PvP. But I have no idea because i'm not involved in the development, all I know is the way it is now hurts no-one so there's not point in making a fuss about it. He says it's another stupid mechanic added to the game, but this mechanic wasn't added, it was changed. People like to fuss about stuff that doesn't need fussing over.

So between the announcement made on Friday about new islands coming in the Summer, and today there has been a video stating it WILL require a wipe? Or are you just assuming that based on old videos that mention wipes that the addition of new island WILL require a wipe?
  17. 1 point
Lawless is where the real PvE is, all i've seen is people helping each other but yes you get the odd few who want to block off resources or whatever but I certainly wouldn't want to be living on a flag island. It's tailored to large companies, I would guess at it changing again in a couple of months to something else, maybe giving people want they wanted in certain number of flags to put down on land.

you see this JAT? you read your twitter JAT? what did i wrote you to do with colonies and empires? setting colonies to 20 i said? why is it still 50 now 75 and still ally allowed? you wanted empires to die JAT? like i said, in 3 twitter posts, small and mediums have no chance bc 50(75) with allys is too high, it equals a mega tribe. i was reading some different intentions from Wildcard beforehand. --> Colonies PvP: Freeform building, with more progress-protecting and time-enforced PvP rules creating a cooperative atmosphere, and limits to ensure the game is more oriented towards single players and small to mid-sized groups. but it seems like this is the way they wanna go.

I wasn't a fan of splitting such a small playerbase into two pvp servers in the first place, but once you decided to go that way, this is ridiculous. Big clans decided to stretch the rules of the small company server refusing to play in the server you made for them and you reward them with a 50% bigger player limit... I really don't understand this. It's been just one week and we are already seeing that kind of join me or i will zerg you attitude.

except at no point did it say one person would own entire islands , or have ability to remove whatt they dont like within 24hrs of being placed pvp fine pve doesnt work
  21. 1 point
SO because YOU are cool with this, then WE all must be? What a DINK! After the last "Wipe" that player base never returned back to the big numbers it once was. I can assure you that any more wipes will scare off another large chunk of the player community. EA or not, it does not matter, players still will not appreciate all of these wipes.
  22. 1 point
i have to agree with u on this one , the sheer boredom of the sailing mechanic is why i rushed around getting beds set up in various places so that i dont have to continually sail , if i want the resources from that area i throw a quick sloop together for transport , there isnt enough in the game at sea at the moment to warrant really paying attention when sailing, set course open sails and go afk , with the wind in right direction even sotd are not a problem they may get a few shot off but am well out of range before any real damage is done
  23. 1 point
Nope, but I'll continue to expect a higher standard.

Because they want us to keep the spam off the islands. It takes one more thing off their hands. And now, they can blame it on bad settlement owners.
  26. 1 point
really ? you mean the PVE server ? you see the emty islands ? our colony system is crap for PVE! smal Companys have no chance for landclaiming ! a pirate who pay taxes is really fantasy lol. watch in your mother company Snail Games the tittle Bounty bay online / VoyageCentury online... this was a pirate mmo. there you can jump to the other ship and fight wiht the enemy NPC crew. and the people who say this is an EA title, look in your game diretory, I only see ARK content from A-Z. This is not an EA title that is just making quick money, with ARK content which i already paid. this is not a re-development game, but an ARK extension under a different name so that the season pass player has to pay for the game again. shame on you! so fanboys now you are allowed to slaughter me.
  27. 1 point
Thats just.....weird. Don't let winning that contest go to your head! Considering where this game was at release and where it is now after 4 short months I am liking the work they are putting in. Major differences. Sure it needs a lot more work, some overhauls and system tweaks, but its much improved.
  28. 1 point
You were until you said that. Now we all do.
  29. 1 point
What evidence based on Atlas's development so far leads you to believe they can?
  30. 1 point
Another wipe, even in the summer would be the worst move for the game. I know it's in EA people should expect wipes blah blah blah, but wipes in EA should only be a last resort necessity. However, as the majority of space on the grids is water, it may be very possible that they can place new large islands without needing to move any other islands and therefore may not need a wipe. Also, what people need to also consider is that originally the Devs said they were arranging new hardware for NA PvE. Now as Empires is being taken down to be replaced with NA PvE, there is that possibility that if it was true about new hardware, that maybe new grids from that hardware will be added to the existing servers.

But why, I don’t get it. What’s so bad with a hard cap on points, why would they want to change it so that you can have more islands overtime.
  34. 1 point
Well a large company can easily own a big island, even for 10K a day. It’s that small companies go to small islands, you want to inhabit a large island with a small company? Fine, but you will need to work very hard for it or have others live on your lands (what would be a good thing). 37K is when you don’t know where the hell you are on the map that laggy as it is. 2K per server is actually pretty good haha.
  35. 1 point
You do know that in the second paragraph you’re literally agreeing with me on the alliances and why your suggestion will not work? On the whole unbalance thing, If I can assign who can and cannot build.. I can literally go mayham, wait a bit and take everything. Not to forget destroy everything because they won’t be able to build. You get so many bad and bad experiences from it, it will be insane. That’s all the scenario’s we talked about when you came to the party 2 months later. Your first 80-10 people made me laugh a bit. All of the 80 win so I don’t really get the point you’re trying to make there. If they can or cannot place structures, they will win. Unless it’s 80-80 against each other but a FOB or home base won’t change the outcome too much. I agree that they can’t have massive bases up and that is why I made the suggestion for them during raid times to have a cap on structures. But letting the landlord choose who can and cannot build is an absolute no go and I’m glad the devs came to that conclusion aswell since they changed it to as it is now.
  36. 1 point
Right, you want to bring in what would be a major unbalance mechanic and I’m clueless. Do you even hear yourself? Getting small communities of small and solo players together doesn’t hurt them. If I’m in a solo group and I can share the island with other small groups and solo players so we can make a ‘community’ you really think that would hurt me? You’re extremely naive. I thought @Realist was the bar, this guy makes @Realist feel like a sweet treat.
  37. 1 point
Hold the phone, how the hell does making sure any solo or small group can get on an island is bad for small companies? Yes making sure that solo/small groups don’t have any place to stay yeahhh, that’s the solution here.
  38. 1 point
I have said the same thing over and over again? I made 2 points in the last week. You’re the one that continues to say the same thing, even though me and others have already told you that it will only make it worse. I’m really starting to doubt if you’re even allowed to be on the internet. I don’t say what you quote me to say, I’m saying giving the landlord the ability to do whatever he wants is what will make the mega’s even more OP and the small groups/solo’s even more vulnerable, SOMETHING THIS UPDATE HAS TO PREVENT. Man.
  39. 1 point
I’m facepalming the crap right now. Are you in the ability to actually read and take in what other people say? Maybe read back what I told you yesterday, if you did that you wouldn’t make such a comment. It’s like I’m talking with my little nephew of 5.
  40. 1 point
I am the problem. Right. So making sure new people have 0 chances of finding new land and us (the mega’s) getting a free ticket to cartel forming by getting all the islands and just own them for no reason is not a problem to you? Because that is what you are vouching for. You weren’t here, but I was here when dozens of people gave their concerns about the very mechanic you want to see in this game. People still haven’t backed your game mechanic because they see, just as me that it’s a ridiculous thing to even think about. Then I made the suggestion that it can be capped to have any kind of middle path in this but you would not listen, and now you’re saying it ‘has nothing to do with it’. Do you actually hear yourself here? You’re far, far off from the real world.
  41. 1 point
Man. You lied 3 times right now to make ‘your point stronger’. I have made good and valid points yesterday, forgot them already? Calling me a child again, even though you’re purely acting childish.
  42. 1 point
Very bad methaphor then, since it doesn’t add up at all. As for the OT, stop being delusional and accept the fact that it’s not going to change.
  43. 1 point
The hell are you talking about, it’s not like a thief builds anything in your house to make it easier.
  44. 1 point
Because them not being able to build on your island will stop them from rekking everyone’s ass?
  45. 1 point
If you give attacking the advantage, mega’s will benefit from it most, if you give defenders the advantage, they will benefit from it to most once again. I wasn’t even talking about people not being able to find land, if you make it that the landlord can delete any building, the chances of people finding land will be way less then when you don’t. I was talking about some good raids with equal chances.
  46. 1 point
And what about ‘tweaking’ placement times and so on. Making it necessarily for them to place them in advance of raid hours except during war hours. Notification and it’s solved. You do need to be online though, but that’s something you have accepted as a landlord.
  47. 1 point
Yeah sure, it won’t change it. Come on man don’t be that damn naive.
  48. 1 point
Right. Having a king as landlord destroying anyone’s progress making it damn easy to cartel forming if you play it smart, it will be abused badly in PvP and even more in PvE, yeah you really want the best for the game.
  49. 1 point
Again, doesn’t change anything to what I said.
  50. 1 point
We can, so not sure what you’re doing wrong.
