I enjoy Atlas as well as Ark I started playing them both for the same reason each of them are a very niche game. I stopped playing Ark because with each update and each expansion the game started leaning to this space age content that ruined many aspects of the game. Lets face it nobody really wants to see a player zip passed you on a jet-pack shooting a laser weapon while you are deeply immersed in a prehistoric moment on a game. I always figured cartridge weapons in Ark was riding on the line of acceptance however it was easy enough to accept with thoughts of Jurassic park in the back of your mind. With Atlas I approached it with some apprehension same creators same mistakes? For a while no it had seemed that Atlas was going to hold true to the pirate theme (Well besides the ships of the damned which should be the same type of ships we use only modified in ways to make them unique given what they are.) But as with many other gamer's I am able to accept certain things as being inevitable. With the announcement of the submarine I am starting to think to myself here we go again. Now with the new photos of the tames. The creature with the shell sporting a mowhawk idk the other looks like someone was carrying vials of dna containing Elephant, Camel and Impala specimens tripped on a misplaced extension cord and mixed all three specimens together before creating the test tube abomination that we see in the screenshots. Many people in these forums say oh its early access be prepared for the game to change drastically and I agree with that loosely. If your calling card to the game is the logo you have created or the depiction in your cover art then you would be safe to assume that this is a pirate themed game. Ships with sails flintlock pistols blazing away sword fighting buccaneers sailing the seven seas looting and plundering the entire way should be the norm. Mythical creatures oh heck yeah Cyclops, Hydra, Mermaid's luring you to certain death with a sirens song now you have got my attention. Fighting ships that look like bad renderings from an early Rob Zombie production not so much. Fire elemental's and rock elemental's why are they even in this game seems to be a very lazy approach to a lack of villains in the cast so hey lets just copy and paste this guy from our other game and just to make it interesting lets take away any toolkit he could have to destroy these things and see what happens. The soldiers of the damned are all but laughable if your so stupid as to attack them without a tame you may kill one and damage a few more for them to only disappear below ground and regenerate for the next round providing that they don't bug and you don't get the treasure anyway. PVP claim system rework that's nice how about addressing the core issues for PVE? Starting with the PVE claim system you cant take those back without conflict and conflict isnt allowed on PVE so what is the plan with that. If you don't have some sort of system in place for claiming then building in PVE will remain a joke. Removing alliances from PVE is not going to resolve any real issues only creates more for those that are uncertain about joining a company for fear that they will be kicked out and lose what they have done. (I have seen this happen in the chat many times.) So for PVE what are the options join a company and hope they are decent people which that is a rarity in this day and age or, stay in your own company and hope you can pick up randoms that will not create issues themselves. The only answer to those problems was sharing alliances with other companies. You get to keep your company and keep the things you have spent so long earning in the game while sharing the group experience and in many cases the only way to truly progress in the game is with a large group completing powerstone's defeating the kraken etc. One thing to help with the company issues is to make things like ships tames and buildings owned by the player instead of the company. That will eliminate those little issues like players joining companies and losing the ships and tames they worked so hard to obtain. Griefing is another serious unaddressed issue companies parking ships to block your ships in building structures just outside of your base area effectively blocking you from being able to build or utilize your own ships. Giving the Chinese players their own server would go a great distance towards resolving most of those issues. And before someone says utilize a reporting system how are you going to report someone named square square square square square from the square square square company. But we have decided to add submarines to the game they will be unarmed vessels used in the exploration of shipwrecks.... Well maybe we will ad a harpoon or two. Hmmmmm can one imagine the possible ways this thing will be exploited already. Why the need for a submarine may I ask add the shipwrecks and buff the diving suit making it a viable option for sea exploration. I can't help but feel there is one person on the dev team that wants to add laser beams and rockets to every project that person encounters. I have a cure for that hand that person a pc buy them a copy of No Man's Sky tell them to make that game better. Problem solved we could get back to what the player base actually wants which is simple. Ships that work properly crew that work properly tames that work properly and an environment that works properly. You shouldn't have to go searching for tames when you log on because they teleported while you was offline. Your crew should not hop off the weapons unless you tell them to (Including those moments when your tames and or crew go floating off into god only knows where in the heavens while still in the mounted station position.) and there should be a way to easily assign crew to a station so you can hit a button wherever they are on the ship they can return to that station. When something is clearly out of range your crew shouldn't fire at it. Larders ammunition boxes and resource boxes should attach to the ship in the same way you shouldn't need multiples of each to cover your ship. Ballista spears need more speed and range you can fire a ballista alongside of a Galleon with six upgraded speed sails at 25% weight and they will go the same speed and they barely travel the length of a Galleon. Ship parameters are way out of proportion one click into accommodations, survivability or crew should reward the same results no matter what ship one click = one crewman, 10% more survivability or one hour longer added to pay period weight added should depend on what ship it is. Starting weight on all ships needs to be buffed in general If you upgrade the planks on any of your ships you cant haul enough weight to keep them repaired due to natural decay and cyclone encounters which I have had an entire Galleon with journeyman planks front to back destroyed by two back to back cyclone storms in the same grid. (For those wanting to say carry resources in your box the entirety of my resources was 20000 wood 35000 thatch 35000 fiber 5000 metal 1000 hide and 1500 gold.) I had two players on my Galleon repairing during the first storm the second storm hit less than a minute later and destroyed all we had repaired. Ship plank hp compared to resources required to repair are in desperate need of reworking you pay the punishment in upgrading planks when you craft them you shouldn't need to be punished so harshly every time you take a little damage. Bottom line fixing what is there is what is needed not adding more crap that don't work.

Here is some news : I'm still working on the app, I collected all needed data. I have to do some administrative things about the website before I put it live. And I need to rework the taming related on the level of the animal, my calculations were wrong, I need to rework that feature. (english isn't my native language, if you see any "bad english", especially on the app, tell me where and how to improve it Thanks)

He is the community manager. Jeremy is the real problem. Ark didn’t get better because jay left. It got better because jeremy left. jat isn’t the one thinking of the ideas. He is the one getting trashed on for reporting those ideas to people. its called shooting the messenger and you just did it.

It would be nice if you guys would fix what's already in the game before worrying with adding content. Also, seriously stop giving dates, you're always incorrect.

Don't make stupid promises like monthly releases please, we all know how it's going to end. Honestly, you should know better by now.

Players will come back to the game once Jat is gone. Dudes like universally hated, feel free to check steam communities and social media. Ark improved 120% once him and his band moved on. Same needs to happen with Ark. Every idea he puts in place is trash, and further ruins game play. Hence bubbled PVE ships. Now PVE gets lawless trash building EVERYWHERE.... Remove Jat and the game will succeed once again. #Wall Jat Out #Make Atlas Great Again

Lets not forget the Giant crab they are adding that you can build a base on its back. Great game ruined by lazy developers with no vision.

I’m not saying my OP holds any merit, all I was saying is that is a possibility of what could take place. This is the prime example of why I believe it would be nice to have had some details already made known to the pve community so we could plan ahead and look for possible exploits that the developers may have overlooked. If a landowner has no rights to a structure that was previously built does that mean if a island was pillar spammed and the current owner has quit the game does that in return mean that once his timer expires and the new owner takes over there is nothing he can do about it ? I’m not sure but they said the tax bank would cover the claim flag and anyone who gatherers materials from the island will be taxed, ok so we also have a upkeep cost for our own structures as well right ? Would it be hard to upkeep pillars vs the upkeep on the claim flag, how hard will it be to force a new landlord off the island, if all you do is spam pillars each time you log in and that landowner has to spend his time running around looking for each pillar you’ve placed ? You mentioned the blocking in of ships, what is going to stop that regardless, if the window is any amount of time at all that means there is a chance that the landowner can’t demolish the pillars if he takes a day off right ? So your ship is stuck , are one of you going to be the landowner and spend all your time policing your island ? I’m not sure but it may be fun being the bad guy for a change and just annoying landowners for no other reason then because the game allows it.

Where in ANY of these threads has THIS scenario of what may very well go down been brought up ?.... it has not or I would not be posting.... look... you see my post count..... I obviously do not post enough to be a troll.... I am sure you have checked my profile to see what games I own and how many hours I play (something I don’t know how to or care to check about others)..... I loved Ark.... I love Atlas..... I’m gonna play it no matter what.... i would prefer that the PVE system be a grief free mechanic in which I can spend my free time playing as I enjoy.... building..... I see myself building and enjoying the game when. It comes back.... I also think I see how this system is going to play out.... i started this thread to discuss this likely scenario..... if you want to discuss THAT, then have at it..... if you want to continue to try to passively censure me then consider yourself dismissed.....

I really don’t want to have anything I build to be approved by the “housing association” of the island. Nor do I want to control what others build. I am hoping to live lawless again with mechanics that curb spam. We had a great time without claimed land and I hope that whatever the new rule system is, it will allow for independent gameplay. I really enjoy interacting with the community side of a MMO with the ability to create like an individual.

Guys what if we wait for PTR and see how it goes? All these topics are based on theories which can or cannot come true.
  14. 2 points
Rules are rules. If players are wiped because circumventing them, no one would raise a PR campaign to save them. In fact, I would praise th edevs for curbing the zerg so small tribes can breathe. This is not a “H.O.D. Vs Wildcard” situation.

I never told you can't test smt. I told you this PTR is meant to test functionality, not how to abuse the system you can test it on live servers. You got a looot of Ifs in your post man owner of the island will be able to destroy buildings which are built less than 12 hours. No matter of the ownership of Island. You presume that everytime Settlement owner changes he can freely destroy everyting which stands there within 12 hours from his claim. Nope he can't.

Which is why the Devs should limit the number of people in an Alliance to something like 80, and only allow one Alliance, not two. Think about how this system they are talking about will work. I could literally have an 800 man Company, still working together. So you would divide into groups of 200. You have 50 fighters in each Alliance, and they would all be in one company. So then the 50 man fighter companies would also join together in a 200 man fighting alliance. This group, this Mega will rule just as they ruled before, and people will leave and never come back, no matter what an update promises, because this update, with the Colonies, and Empires was supposed to give the little guy a chance. When it doesn't, he is gone for good.

I have about 400 hrs since launch and I keep finding new and creative things to do. Most of it lately has been building a 300+ animal safari park with tames that have been abandoned (thank you everyone). I look forward to the new Atlas but I will definitely spend less time playing because right now I have to rush around to collect boatloads of animals before they are gone. I don’t know what the record is for free range tames but the lag I’m creating in L9 pve is pretty awesome. Navigating the tames to feed them is like flying through an asteroid field. Never tell me the odds! i’m sorry, I sound insane. lol

You call that a guy a snowflake because you heard the term while watching Alex Jones on youtube. I'm sure of it. That guy only posted that the game is not what it was implied to be. With the PTR and v1.5 right around the corner i figured that I would come here and finally make a post. Especially since I have actual updates about what we will all see for ourselves come game time This weekend we had a meeting on discord. There were a few leaders/admins/officers from the top 10-12 companies, along with a good amount of their members from the Na PvP server. 161 total to be exact. During the 90 minute discussion many issues were brought up including the cap limits set for each company/alliance. That particular discussion lasted about 45 seconds because NOBODY knows exactly how many members are returning. To be frank, we all agreed that it doesn't matter either. We can always find a way around any cap limit that the devs set, but we just don't want or need to. The devs themselves have already spoken to us on multiple occasions about this very matter. We don't plan on trying to keep big numbers like last time. Trust me, ask any leader/admin how their days were when they had 500 members, messaging them and asking 1001 questions. It sucked. The limits being set are fair and to be honest, more than we even really need. That being said, once the PTR is over and day 1 of v1.5 arrives, it will be a totally different ballgame than before. We all know which of the existing islands we want. There were only 2 islands that multiple companies were targeting that were the same, but after a brief discussion, and a few future trade agreements lol, that got squared away. So we all know pretty much where each other will be for the most part. Although we are very excited to see the new islands just like everyone else so we just aren't 100%. As far as the solo/duo and the "little companies", none of us bullied you before as a zerg. If BLDX or CSTG did, that sucks and im sorry. We all would MUCH RATHER talk and either recruit, setup a trade/barter agreement, or to just have safe passage to do maps. So many of these threads stating that "we were zerged off my island then it was left barren" are just false. As a matter of fact, we had strict rules that shitting on the small guys is not tolerated. Nobody wanted to be "that company", kinda like how BLDX is known. But I am also 100% certain that there were many times where you got raided by a group that belonged to a "mega" company, but you were in fact only raided by a small group, no more than 8-12 players total. That's not a zerg. When you have 30+ ships, all brigs and galleons, waiting in separate areas to zone into the enemy server at the same time , that's a zerg, and omg it's awful. Whatever the case may be, we had many people this time around saying they will indeed be going after everyone they see and they don't want repercussions. Everyone seemed to agree. So now yes. you will probably be seeing larger groups going from island to island waiting to sink ships and do whatever they can for free resources. A few of them, i wont mention names, have posted here and on reddit numerous times about this. I guess some of your opinions on the quality of players that are in "megas" made this all happen. I won't personally be taking part in any of that but i thought it would be a good heads up to the community since it's fair play anyway. Another pretty important part of the meeting i can share is that for the 1st 2 weeks there will be a truce between all large companies in the powerstone areas. I think that would be a great time for anyone interested in obtaining the items needed to eventually get a submarine to come along and enjoy the........lag ><; Another thing. You would be surprised if you knew how many people are testing theories in private servers. Some of the designs they will be implementing into their main fleets were amazing. There are no youtube videos or posts anywhere with these new builds. We were shown 4 of 5 prototype pictures of what they've built and tested, it's game changing. It's like prisoners in jail that have all this extra time to think of crazy things to invent out of nothing. Can't wait to see them in action. Lastly, I would like to say that grapeshot is in a very pivotal time as far as the future of Atlas is concerned. The direction they are headed now is much different than originally planned. The game is evolving quickly but unless positive decisions are made in the next few months, they could lose their player base, what's left it, for good. I will answer a few questions if anyone has any until the PTR arrives. There are quite a few more things i would've loved to share but this is already way too long We have plans for doing the Kraken and for the new shops. Breeding strats and treasure map nights. Just so much. Can't wait!

Why is it the players of the game understand the necessity of vision and direction and point of Atlas more than the developers??????? Listen to what people are saying! Listen, and stop making this ARK with ships. It's pretty much everything I read on here from people. We don't want ARK with ships, it's not why people started playing the game, it's not what people thought the game would be. The reason? Because you guys called it a game about pirates and ships and war at sea. I just don't get the disconnect. Seriously, I just don't understand it. I imagine developer meetings and any other meetings in this company to be like a landfill of ideas. There's some really good stuff in there, but it's a pile of steaming trash and that is why the developer updates don't make any damn sense.
  22. 1 point
To the OP, you as a single minded player can feel this way about mega tribes, and about your mega tribe, but can you be certain that everyone in your tribe is like minded individuals that never disagree with you what yall should and shouldn't be able to do ingame? You must be certain based on your company mates actions. Making all of your company take a vow doesnt work, they must never violate your benevolent leadership! If the answer to that is no, then its just another mega abusing rules to crush small companies and make everyone choose between joining you, hiding from you, or quitting the game. So I'm sure that the devs will ask megas about every decision before they make it LOL.

Traditional hostilities with megas that I saw play out happened as such... Small group of players start crap somewhere. Offended group counter-attacks. Small group complains to their Mega allies. Mega declares war on you for daring to attack an ally (that had attacked you first)

lol how this guy pretends he someone special. Ive had megas come and wipe me. then I would move build a schooner take a bear with a canon sneak into there bases and sink all their ships. it works both ways. small group can be sneaky as fuck. I even took a sloop with canon on the rear and ran it right past their towers. and sunk three brigs and a galleon. They eventually sunk my sloop but big deal..... shoot out a plank and move on to the next by the time they get the message that the first sunk the others follow right after.

The problem was that the game was already bleeding out. Watching the Stream Charts, you could watch Peak Players steadily dropping week over week. If you go look at https://steamcharts.com/app/834910#3m it is hard to even note when the wipe was announced. It is a pretty smooth downward trend line. The actual period it happened in had roughly a 1K week over week user drop before hand and then a sudden 2K week over week user drop and then continued to decline as normal. Is it really a kiss of death if the patient was already terminal? Perhaps activity would have stabilized some. Perhaps they did announce the wipe too early. But emergency surgery was very much needed to save the patient. They did not believe the changes desired would take quite this long to prepare, so there was little they could have done better at the time. Hindsight and all that. Our group is also wondering how many of our comrades will return post-wipe. There was a lot of excitement and affirmations right after the announcement, but it has grown quiet with how long the wait has been.

True, now we have moved to someone else’s thread and pointing out the same crap we’ve talked about a hundred times over because we have nothing else to do. Well I’m at work or else I’d be playing the game or watching anime, don’t laugh, some of the anime series are better than anything else that has came out in the last 20 years. Some of them I look forward to watching almost as much as I did Game of Thrones.

Problem with reviews of EA games is those reviews don´t reflect current state of the game. It´s a bit misleading.

All this talk about "Megas" is anyways stupid. It's not like there is even a clear line or definition where one company becomes "Mega". Like what is a company going to do if it grows and becomes a so called "mega"? Leave everything on the Colony server behind and go to Empires? Same question in regards to the other case. What happens if you lose members/split up and become a smaller company? What are you going to do on the Empire Server? Leave it and start over on Colonies? And what exactly is preventing "SuperMega" companies? A so called "mega" might face the same problems as smaller/mid sized companies have on the current server in regards to bigger companies/alliances. There is just no solution to politics in a MMO that is directed by its players. What would be needed is proper incentives for certain actions through game mechanics we currently lack but trying to seperate "small" and "big" companies is a fools errant and will need to nowhere (it's at best a short term fix).

Firstly it cant be "personally" if it is the opinion of everyone you have played with, unless of course you don't have your own opinions, but then it would be "Based of the opinion of all those I have played with, I have decided that.......". However my point is that not everyone hates the vitamin system. Personally I like it. It is well balanced and adds to the game play, as it ensures that you have to farm the right foods and learn the right skills to make sure you can survive properly. Based on what I have read from various commentators, it is my opinion that the reason you don't like the vitamin system is because you don't want to ""Waste"" skill points levelling the Vitamin protection up, but would rather spend the points on what you feel improves your style of game-play. After all why spend skill points on preventing vitamin decay when you could punch harder, or learn how to make cannons, etc. Dude, its part of the game. If you wish the max out on weapons and PVP based skills then fine, but then you suffer on the survival skills. Stop bitching about the fact that the game is not what you want, and accept that they are trying to make a balanced survival game that can be played and enjoyed by the maximum demographic, and not just by a bunch of Gung-ho PVPers who want nothing more that to destroy or dominate all other players. Realise that this game is a balance of PVP and PVE, and is meant to be played as such. Like EVERYTHING in life, good games are about finding a balance.

Any time one reads "people want/don't want x" on a gaming forum, it should always be read as "I want/don't want x" and nothing more. The notion that any one person knows for certain what a majority of players wants in any game with more than a dozen people they know personally is an absurd one. Even if what they are saying is reflected by a majority of posters to that same forum, it is not even close to a majority of players as typically around 10 percent or less of a game's playerbase posts to forums.

This thread turned into a shitfest. What are you guys even arguing about anymore? This game has pirates. It has explorers. It has traders. It has WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT in it including companies, countries, etc. You cannot have only pirates. Pirates would get bored and drink themselves to death because there would be nothing to pillage or plunder. These games are what we make them to be. If I wanted to be a Privateer I can be one. If I wanted to form the Spanish armada and hunt pirates and those pesky English I could do that as well. As to ARK, shove that game. It has nothing to do with this one.

Hell yes, I love what I am seeing! If this isn't an April Fools Joke, then this announcement got me all excited once again to get back in and play! The picture depicted demonstrates how spawns should appear. Lions should be sneaky and meticulous in their process to pounce on prey and not mindlessly and unnaturally jumping through the air across the island in spasms like they were doing before... Although I certainly would love to see more "creatures" added to the game, I just hope that the primary focus first, is aimed at the "existing" content that is still yet to be working as intended. ONLY once these preexisting features are working properly should there be any considerations on adding anything "new" to the game. Also, keep the player tamable creatures to a minimum, don't overdo it. The real adventure here is to fear and run from these crazy and deadly creatures...NOT tame them all and make them your pet. Some pets are pretty useful and make sense that they should become domesticated while others should remain uniquely deadly and beyond our meager capabilities to tame. Don't run into a serious pitfall where the entire game is all about taming, breeding, and allowing tamed creatures to do everything in this game for you. This would be a very bad move. I would prefer that you focus on fixing things first, second, add more effective and defensive features so that we can better keep our ships, bases, and tames safe. Finally, let's bring some focus back on new and innovated player-skills, adding unique pirate-like skirmishes! Players should be able to blackjack, garrote, dodge, parry, and riposte opponent's attacks. When I think of traditional MMORPG pirate games, I envision small bands of settlers scouring town, gathering last-minute items they are certain to need to survive the deadly and foreboding wilderness. I think about traveling merchants shouting to hire groups of mercenaries to guard their wares as they travel to the next few towns. I think of the upstart, would-be heroes vying to wet their newly forged blades lusting to make names for themselves. I can smell the acrid aroma as rival gangs settle their scores in bloody forays! I foresee groups of dirt-covered prospectors drunkenly boasting about their mineral-rich land-claims. I expect flamboyant swashbucklers twirling steel in flashy swordplay. I can see street-peddlers in their stalls exhibiting peculiar trinkets and exotic weapons unnaturally emanating with magical properties. I envision local magistrates, publically executing deviant thieves as more of their ilk pickpocket clean the unwitting spectators. I think of cutthroat bandits, hiding behind rocks and trees along muddy, dirt-roads just outside of town, waiting to rob unsuspecting travelers and rape their women-folk. I foresee ruthless assassins lurking in the darkness of the back-alleyways readying their hungry daggers in hopes of fulfilling their seedy contracts. I envision impressive ships pulling into port, as the locals point and spew the exploits of the notorious ship's crew, either out of immense fear or loving reverence. I think of rabble-townsfolk, desperately scraping enough resource to post a bounty in hopes of alluring capable and skilled pirate hunters to come and rid their waterways of infamous pirates. I can imagine homely-looking children scurrying about, singing old legends of unfathomable lands with strange, deadly denizens and powerful dragons, where the treasure is exceptionally exotic and fruitful! Finally, I think about distant kingdom emissaries scouting for more recruits to join the ranks of royal armies as tension flares and legendary wars are on the brink! These are what I have come to expect when I think about a PIRATE game. So far, what we actually got is seriously left wanting...Come on Grapeshot, you can do this, stay focused on making this a great pirate MMO, not an ARK clone. While that new screenshot certainly seems to revitalize the whole Island-adventure appeal, do consider making this game more about pirates and fantasy adventures and less about animal taming or steampunk crap...the submarine you proposed is already overdone on the steampunking scene...

Our company, The Black Hand, has now completed 8 out of 9 power stones (darn Ghost Ship bugs every time we go looking for it), repeatedly killed the Kraken in smaller and smaller numbers, tamed several drakes and farmed a massive amount of mythos. We have farmed almost every major mythic blueprints (missing nice stats on large sails), and we still have 7-10 people playing. Ignore the haters and naysayers, accept that people have the right to opine and play whatever way they wish, but never give up your own desire and playstyle. Everyone is entitled to their own way to play a game. We are recruiting and look forward to more of Atlas in the days to come.

I am not intrested what the Mega tribes will do, this game failed because of many game mechanics favour zerging. If you enjoy zerging and not having a challenge but just want to giggle how 100 vs 10 destroy everything and even find it entertaining i can only feel sorry for you. Only no skill gamers with 0 IQ join a zerg, if companies find ways to go around the alliance and Tribe limit i hope they will get banned and all their structures wil be removed. So ED i hope you guys will be banned asap if you contnue with your plans, nothing personal but i dont like zerg mega tribes in any game. I dont want Ark PvP 2.0 which was a terrible PvP scene with 0 skill req, many Ark mega tribes followed the Devs to this game but this game is better off they just go back to their Zerg wallhalla on Ark and leave this game asap.

im pve and im sailing exploring and rescuing tames as i go along, having fun, loaded a schooner with 3 elephants 4 girraffes 2 horses 5 bears on last trip, couldnt walk my deck lol then theres figuring out how to get them out of their original pens in the first place, ive left more behind than ive saved, i can hear the wails of despair from within. calling to me... remo save me too... I Bring em home , my pens got close to 100 animals and growing, trying to get the most saved from starvation before they go to the big wipe in the sky. point is in a sandbox game theres alot to do, other than posting on forums about how much someone hates the game lol(not this thread but in general) with all its faults this is the best game ive played in years

I really do appreciate the fact that this development team actually works, but this game has still been filled with development disappointments non stop. Nearly all your community owns and played ark. We keep telling you we don't want another ARK, which you guys seem to keep ignoring us on. And now you've started the "Can you guess what this new Tamable is?" ARK crap. We're all playing ATLAS because we want a pirate MMORPG. Listen to your damn community. And don't go "steampunk", that ship has sailed and it's a much smaller market. I have yet to write a review for this game, because I'm seriously trying to give you guys a chance to redeem yourselves from your initial BLUNDERS, but you guys at Grapeshot can't seem to help yourselves. If you want to overcome your "don't buy this crap" rating on Steam, start making the game WE want, not the one you want. Listen to your community. We keep saying PIRATES, SHIPS, PIRATE STUFF, SHIP STUFF... and you guys roll out something new to tame to build bases and carry other tames on? Hello platform saddles, where have we seen you before? You're actually owning your Steam rating more than most games deserve. A negative Steam rating means you're doing it wrong, so start listening. We won't follow you when you create a new company name. We know who you are.

My biggest fear, after seeing the new creatures, is that the same thing that happened to Ark is happening to Atlas. The devs kept adding creatures to Ark that no one really asked for. We ended up with way too many creatures and not enough bug fixes. There are still bugs in Ark that have not been fixed for years. They are now creating a new Ark play style that removes some of the creatures in Ark to make it more like it was in the beginning. I love the idea of new creatures but please do not add a lot of new content until you, at least, have figured out how we are supposed to play the game. There is a ton of content in Atlas right now that does not work correctly. Please fix that before adding new things!

It looks great imo. I think it's odd when people say their opinion is what they think the devs are developing.. no. It isn't. Grapeshot decide what kind of game they want to make, we decide if we want to play it or not. We don't get to decide what they want to do, that isn't how it works. The idea of a fantasy pirate game is fine. The new animals, changes to creatures etc is fine, so long as it's a believable world and everything looks like it has a place and aren't just weirdly skinned things thrown in just for the sake of having something that is alien over what already exists. ie Odd looking lions instead of lions, 2 headed tigers instead of tigers, fat ankys instead of ankys.. etc. Make the animals with purpose and imagination, if an animal has a weird looking horn or nose, give it a whistle or mating call or something to match that change, to give it a reason for existance. Similarly with the ships, the Ships of the Damned look like something from some other weird plane of existance and completely unlike ships at all. Then we get ships to use that aren't really ships, but glorified boats with masts on, sure basic models, to be updated later. So it's all good. If everything is to be updated later and new systems added now and later to improve the game it's all good. And I'm quite happy with the progression, sure I'd like it all now, right now. But that isn't possible and I understand that, as should everyone else.

I look forward to the PTR on the 3rd April and find it funny that so many people complain about the release dates being delayed yes it is frustrating but people will complain more if it is lagged and un playable this is why the bad reviews when it was released in December. I have enjoyed the hours that I have played so far and look forward to the many hours that I intend on playing in the future.
