After spending 4 hours travelling to get an elephant and using it ONLY for gathering wood, and almost having it die to an alpha Snake, I cannot in good faith call the "nerf", for that's what it is, to elephants a good thing, or defend it at all. This is a foolish choice that completely ruins the reason to tame an elephant. Sure, you can maybe hold a stack more than a player, but what's the point? The bear holds more weight and can defend itself far easier than an elephant, is faster, has a better turn radius, and is a far, FAR easier tame. Please, if there is ANY chance to go back on this decision, please, do it. Elephants were the reason I didn't mind not finding any axe blueprints. I knew I could just use my elephant instead.

having 300+hrs in their are many things still wrong with tames and other issues. but nerfing elephants weight reduction better come with a huge weight carry buff to the animals. if not they will be completely and utterly useless.. so I say everyone who reads this needs to upvote this post to make sure they hear your cries. but this nerf is a catch 22 (damned if you do, damned if you don't) I really honestly don't see anything positive coming from nerfing the elephants unless there is some sort of counter balance, which is not included in the patch notes btw. so I say to all who will read this.. upvote this to the top so the dev's know this is a VERY BAD move. they say they read the forums.. lets find out.

If you agree with the post please leave a like or a +1, helps to get the dev’s attention. Nerfing fire arrows...the only means we have left for efficiently handling alphas Nerfing fire arrows against mythicals and then requiring us to go to a Power Stone just to get rid of the new old age debuff? Because of course add the debuff before you add child birth. (c***s) Preventing crop plots from being placed on boats and destroying the ones already placed...did the devs not JUST finish telling us we dont need to settle down or necessarily even have a base? You silly f***s over there at Grapeshot are all over the place. Your cooking system is convoluted and shitty with it’s recipes, so why not ease the strain and let people make garden ships? I mean, you can’t even grow herbs...what a joke. Removing elephant weight reduction...now they’re useless, just like the rhino. - If you dont want to make another creature game, give me cargo ziplines (since you took away zipping while encumbered) or a rail line or NPC workers; SOMETHING. Do the devs honestly believe people slowly crawling back to base on foot with metal you mined by hand is fun?! Stop balancing around mega-groups in PvP for the entire player base. - Is this company too lazy or too incompetent to implement two seperate rulesets that actually make sense for both play-modes? You will never balance PvE and PvP with the same ruleset, and you’ll never get to that sweet spot of work vs reward if you turn gathering into a nightmarish chore for anyone not in a zerg group.

So, let me get this straight ..... I create my character and start playing the game. Character is 20 years old. Cool! Character ages up to 90 in under 4 weeks of real time. Devs: "Go complete end game content on a golden age island to set your character back to 20 years old!" Me: "I've not even visited a golden age island yet - I've only been playing this game for 4 weeks!" Also devs: "Have an age debuff that makes the game tougher while we're at it!" I understand game design encouraging you to go complete content, but why do I feel like I am being punished for not playing the game enough to be completing endgame inside 4 weeks?

I think its pretty clear they only really care about streamers. Jat even got all excited on the stream yesterday talking about how steamers PM him ideas and shit. Streamers making trips to the fountain of youth with their army of rubes might be entertaining.... but its not a fun game mechanic for most players. At the absolute least they should have reset everyone's age back to 20 so we had time to prepare for this. To just spring it on the community, when most of our characters are already 90+ is just nonsense.

It's such a bad move by them to make us get major nerfs because of our age, when they didnt gave us the possibilty to get younger or to reproduce until today. Waited with that for another month and did it in the february update. Such a bad move.

Okok i understood, you want us to play another game.

Good to know the reason they are removing weight reduction buff off elephants is because of all the "weight bugs" aka none really that the PVE players have been crying for weeks. Congratulation ladies you asked for it, devs fixed it for you. You literally f'ed everybody that plays this game because you fail to keep people off your boats in PVE server. Amazing tbh

Just to follow up on this, companies that are involved in cheating are risking themselves to wipe. We wiped 2 more companies within the last 8 hours, 1 on NA PVP and 1 on EU PVP and will wipe more as necessary.

Like.. I can't actually believe how badly they handled this... Guys.... WE DON'T WANT TO PERMA SAIL JUST TO MAINTAIN COSMETICS. WE DON'T WANT TO KEEP LOSING/SWITCHING CHARACTERS. If some people do want that? Let them buy a rename token, and let them re-customize their characters. DO NOT : 1. Send us to an island, where PVP is still turned on, and the aggro ranged on PVE enemies is 5 miles, for enemies that are ridiculously high level. This results in the most frustrating experience I've had on the game thus far.. People sailing around cannoning people's boats while they're running to shore to get the fountain, whilst these people are under pressure to get this done before their character dies. What happens then? I have to sail all the way back, where it will likely happen again.. That is not fun.. I just want to KEEP MY CHARACTER, and keep in non-fugly. Why must you make that a chore?? 2. Not give us any real indication which island to go to.. Great fun wasting time there.. Each time we get to the island?? We have to run through the cannonfire of every OP npc on the island. This is the most unpleasant shit I've ever played in a long time.. I'm done with this game; and i'd guess a lot of other, who were hopeful they'd get to keep their characters are too.

Fix everyone's age to 20, because this shit is unfair to punish players for having financed this clusterfuck for you. Then fix how fast people age, because you shouldn't age 1 year per 10 game days. Make aging a reasonable thing that makes something resembling sense. THEN and ONLY ONCE the systems are functioning for combating aging, do you patch in penalties for age and screw people over.

    1. Fountain of youth -You constantly have to visit it to remain young. Nobody who wants a character looking young wants to constantly sail to the fountain of youth. The fountain of youth is supposed to make you ageless. It will appear on ONE golden age ruin, meaning the server will be overcrowded. They put it in the game right as we're reaching 100, meaning there is a good chance people will lose their characters completely.. Assuming death is in the game; if it isn't, ignore this one. Can we access the fountain below age 90? Who knows.. If not, it means we're still forced to look old and ugly up till 90 before the quest pops. On PVP servers people can grief others who just want to not lose their character.. I'm sure being killed at the fountain of youth won't be the most frustrating thing ever... So stupid.. Seriously guys.. Using the fountain provides stacking perma stat bonuses... I assume this is to match those who breed?... Who knows. Just stick the damn thing in a freeport, and let people who want to use it, use it. People are already pissed you put an age mechanic in to begin with, let alone making us search for a damn random spawn. 2. Kraken -"defeating the kraken now gives you 33% feat cooldown reduction" Will you stop screwing over the smaller companies who'll never get this passive? Just let it drop mythical weapons or something. People who have the companies to take out the kraken ALREADY HAVE A HUGE ADVANTAGE. Why? Because they're ALREADY HUGE COMPANIES.

My company and I have been discussing the recently released patch notes for the upcoming V15 update. I'm not going to be the first, nor the last post discussing this update, but there are a few things that I feel that should be addressed time and time again until appropriate measures are taken by the developers. I want to preface this thread by saying that the previous released patches gave us players the idea that you are actually listening to what we are saying. Sadly, the most recently released patch notes took that feeling and threw it straight out of the window. Some of the proposed changes are so out of line with what is needed, that I feel genuinely demotivated to keep playing on the official servers. Regardless, I will start off with the changes that I think are good. Some of you might disagree and I do welcome all feedback, even if it is not in line with that I state here below. The good In my opinion not a bad idea, gives player an incentive to go to the power stone islands (again) to get themselves a permanent stat boost. The debuff kind of forces you to do so, which to me makes sense. I kept these changes in my post, as I wanted to portray that there is a sizeable amount of changes that we do appreciate. Not everything is terrible as the recent set of posts might say, but more on that later. The ones above are changes that I feel are good and make sense. I don't see the need to add on much reasoning to it. If you feel otherwise, please do state what you feel should be different and why. A few honourable mentions: This is a great change. This was asked for by the playerbase and you delivered, so thank you. Please do consider looking into alpha land creatures next, as those are still an issue for your players. Yes. THANK YOU. A small, yet very valuable QoL change. Great stuff. The questionable Honestly this sounds good, but I do feel that some players might have issues with this. Doesn't this make the ghostship powerstone absolutely irrelevant? Unless you give ghost ships another use, I'd say there's not much incentive left to actively search for them. I can see why, but I'm sure some players always have issues with nerfs to income. Personally I haven't used gold as much so this doesn't effect me as much, but I am interested in what others have to say about it. I think we need more context on this one. Tame damage resistance to what? Is this tamed creatures getting a buff in terms of the damage they take, or is this players taking less damage from enemy tamed creatures? To be honest I can see why, plots aren't meant to be on boats, but it was an awesome feature. I'll always remember my farm boat. Good change, but I see this repeated in the V16 patch notes, so when exactly do we get it? Next patch or late February? Fire arrows are overpowered as they stand, and they still will be after this patch. What we needed is a buff to GUNS and Melee weapons. PVP-wise there still needs to be a nerf to fire arrows, as the damage the flames on the ground do still wrecks everyone regardless of their armor. PVE-wise fire arrows are good and they didn't need an extra nerf. Please consider our feedback when we keep on telling you that the PVP-meta is currently absolutely disgusting, as naked players carrying fire arrows dominate anyone else. PVE-wise we NEED more ways of dealing with the enormous amount of predators and alpha creatures on our islands. What exactly does this mean? Can we no longer damage Giant snakes/Cobras with melee attacks? What's the point of that? Personally I don't really use these, so I'm not sure if this was called for. Maybe others can chip in and share their thoughts on this one? I get that the game isn't supposed to be revolving about taming creatures, but in the current state of the game it kinda is. I'm okay with making it harder to tame pets, as long as this doesn't fuck up their range. I don't want to get hit from taming pens while not standing near them at all. I need some clarification on this one. What does this entail, exactly? Sounds great on paper, but doubling performance every time is not how it works out ever, so please don't exaggerate this so much, lol. The bad You've seen the reaction this change has brought on your forum and Subreddit. I don't need to add much to this. This is a terrible, terrible, terrible change. Gathering in this game already is tedious. Sailing across multiple grids to find and tame an elephant in order to make the gathering less tedious, is tedious as well. Not a single player on any of your 4 official servers would have ever told you that the process of gathering resources is too easy. Because it isn't. I don't usually speak for everyone, but I do think the majority of the playerbase can back me up here when I say that this nerf is so uncalled for that you should be ashamed for actually proposing it. The elephant does not need a nerf, it needs to either stay the same or even be buffed in terms of gathering, as its base carry weight already is way too low. It's gathering speed is low as well. Same goes for the rhinos. A bloody rhino can't carry a couple stack of rocks, so you need a second transporting mount to carry a couple of stones back to your base if you don't want to go back and forth 100+ times with your rhino. Please revoke this change at once, and LISTEN to the actual feedback your players have given you in terms of what needs to be changed concerning the tamed animals. This change is making an already tedious process even worse and will hurt you in the end too, as players lose interest in playing on the official servers. This is so bad I actually had to write this entire book to vent my frustrations with this development team right now. Jat, Dollie, we love you, but you NEED to address the situation. You can not shove this one under the rug and say you are dealing with stuff but need more evidence. There's a stockpile of evidence coming from multiple parties that are in no way related to eachother. People have seen in-game names, steam names on streams of multiple popular streamers, who are in different zones. This was not just one person who managed to get into an administrator account. Even if you can't ban the players in question due to some higher up stuff leaving you with your hands tied, you NEED TO TALK TO YOUR COMMUNITY ABOUT THE SITUATION AND SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS IT. I can't stress this enough. By not mentioning it you are only fueling the talks of you being forced to leave this company untouched because you are owned by Snail Games or what not. Please change the direction of this conversation and make an official statement on it. Even if you can't ban the company in question, please just address your community in an official way. This is your number 1 priority. Not a single other topic has ever had so much traction since release so you can not just ignore it. Thanks for your time.

We've an issue with the Rejuvenated buff at the moment which makes it not persist through death. I'd recommend not going after the Fountain until it's resolved in an upcoming (hopefully minor) update. Unless of course you wish to remove the 'old age' debuff, but I am not sure if we'll be able to retroactively restore the rejuvenated buff for anyone that loses it presently. No ETA on that atm.

It's pretty crazy the devs thought in a game where everything takes mass amounts of wood to take out the only tame that makes farming it easier. Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants this back ASAP!

How you can suggest forcing people to repeatedly seek out a fountain just to keep their character is beyond me. It is the worst thing about V5. People just want to get on playing the game, they don't want to have to worry about stuff like that.

Disclaimer - This is in the PVE board for a reason. However, many of the concepts would survive in PVP as well. However, the NEED for them is more present on PVE So I've been giving it some thought to the complaints about the claim system, and as usual it doesn't just boil down to simple player greed, and frankly the solution isn't as simple as just limiting players to a number of claims. Most of the solutions proposed so far still rely on the basic assumption that players should NEED to have a significant permanent land presence, and that really doesn't translate well to a player versus environment context. Territory, and territory control, are pretty inherently PVP concepts. If land is owned by a player, then even on PVE, the architecture of taking land from another player is a PVP oriented action (in order for player a to gain, player b MUST lose something), and adding perfect protection doesn't really make that suddenly work (which is the current system, you really only gain land when another player exits the game or abandons it). The solutions aren't to just limit out the ability for people to control territory, although there probably is some reasonable limit that should probably go in. However, no matter what the limit, what we really need is more environment. I'd like to propose the following as additions that wouldn't upset the game greatly, but should drastically reduce the over-focus on the Claim system. The claim system (and lawless zones as they are now, but not how Grapeshot wants them) are so focusd on because they are everything. If there was alternative, non-land control environment, then players wouldn't feel the NEED to have claimed land, wouldn't need to horde it even if they aren't using it, and would be able to play the game without opting into that system. Basically, turn being a landowner into a thing you do because you want to, not because you have to. P.S. As far as weight sinking that was recently rampant, it's important to remember that much of it wasn't true Griefing. Griefing requires the act to be motivated with the goal of causing frustration or irritation to the victim, and while there were plenty of people doing it just to annoy anothers (the ones who were streaming about it etc.) a large swath of the companies that were strip mining ships were doing it for the goal of gathering resources. This is another sign that there was no non-PVP way for them to use some game mechanisms (see below and you'll know more about what I'm thinking). 1) Ships of the Damned should give more loot of a mundane and non-exclusive nature Right now, SOTD give NPC crew and ship recipes, and some coins. That's great, but they really need to give mundane resources. Some amount of Wood, Thatch, Fiber, and Metal, and maybe an exotic material (oil/sap) per kill would provide an alternative source of resources, and motivate stronger players to keep the waters safer for weaker players / players not as far along progression. Let people play hunters of the mystical. 2) There should be NPC ships other than ships of the damned for us to fight Just as with the SOTD, there should be merchant and trade vessels for us to fight and ultimately sink. It's another resource in, and provides a purpose to the salvaging tree. In fact, in PVE, the ultimate pirate ability could be retooled from allowing claiming of ships (NOT a PVE concept...) to increasing the merchant loot from Merchant ships. Let people play pirates. 3) There should be spawned shipwrecks Right now, the salvage skills are only really useful for people who intend to sink ships through griefing. I'm willing to say that 99% of the ships that sank on PVE were through exploits rather than legit mechanisms. This was often done to salve the ships. Salvaging should be a viable play style in a game like this, but the system needs to spawn things in. Let people play salvagers. 4) There should be less requirement to have a land base - it should be an option I'm going to break this one down into 4 sub-parts, but right now there are three main reasons to build a base that are REQUIRED for progression. This doesn't include "I build a base because I want to" which I'm all for, but I'm trying to highlight why right now, the "want to build a base" players are rubbing up against people only doing it to support the rest of their play. Also, much of the foundation spam is from people reserving land "in case" they need it (ok, and to be arseholes but at least some of them are doing it non maliciously and we should give them an option). 4a) allow purchase of farmed items at reasonable rates/ re-enable farming on boats Farming is disabled on ships. Either re-enable it, or let us get farmed items from NPC's at reasonable rates. As it stands right now, I see a lot of farms in lawless. Farmed goods are required to get good tames and good food for the vitamin system. This forces people to build land bases to farm to progress Now yes, You CAN farm on a boat through rain, but it's risky. Letting us put pipes on ships would let us have the buffer of a reservoir. 4b) allow kenneling of tames One of the major reasons to build a base is that you need a place to store your tames. In a PVE context, tames inside my base should be "invincible" because there's not supposed to be a non-exploit way to hurt them. So why even bother with the base at all? Why not have NPC kennels throughout the land where we can store our tames when we aren't using them. Added bonus, we don't consume server resources with bases and parked tames. 4c) allow use of rented shipyards Right now, you HAVE to have a land base for is to build your ship. It's a huge problem and the shipyard spam around islands is totally real. Instead, why not add a system where I can rent a shipyard for 2 hours? I'd build the materials ahead of time, lay down the skeleton, plop on the panels, and set sail. Right now, people plug up space for FOUR DAYS to build their ships. If lawless really is supposed to be more about people getting ready and moving on, put the NPC shipyards there. Have each island have 6 shipyards that people can rent for short bursts to build their ships, and get out. 4d) add NPC storage The final reason you have to build a base is that storage on ships is limited, and vulnerable. Again, just like with kenneling tames, ON A PVE SERVER my resources in my base should be safe, and the only way for players to get them are exploits, so again, why not just take the base out of the equation? Let us deposit resources into an NPC bank, and while near the NPC bank, we get a "loading crane" buff that gives us crazy carry weight (5000 or so) to move stuff to or from our ship storage easily.

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

Too many wolves in this game. I need kill almost 20 wolves and lions in my house everyday. although I put all base there, they still spawn in my house. I killed 3 of them and they will respawn in 30 minutes. They run faster than almost all animals. Single player can't kill any wolves if he/she doesn't have guns or any tamed animal and they even can't escape from wolves. Alpha wolves and lions do not belong to this game, they just destroyed this game. Nothing can fight with Alpha wolves and lions. The only way kill them is fire and still need use some "bug place". If some one meet them outside only way for them is waiting to death and lose all they have. Please reduce the spawn of wolves and lions. Delete all Alpha wolves and Alpha lions.

I am a female that happens to game. A lot.... Especially in the winter. After work, I game. It is what I do. But sad to say at this point I am just bored with the game. It is not the EA or the broken mechanics. It is just boring. Not enough content? I got off worked and logged in as usual, ready to settle in for the evening. And I was like, ok... Feed the crew and the few tames that I have left that were not killed due to clipping issues and I was like NOW WHAT? And that is when it hit me. There is nothing that I really felt like doing so I logged out. Tame? Don't bother until it is fixed. Land Claim? Ha! Joke. Ok Build? Well the lousy land claim I have has no resources and I am not in the mood to sail forever round trip to bring the mats back to build on my shitty iceberg. Other than that there just really is nothing. It would be great if there was like something to do at the Freeports? Maybe a tavern where players could meet up and play pirate games against each other and NPCs for in game gold or rewards. I can see earning rep this way that might get you followers or something. But for now, I think I will go watch a movie. Sigh

Okay - Firstly, I would like to say that the age thing has always been a puzzle untill now... Secondly, Age in the game is a good feat to have, a really good thing, it addds a little immersion... However, the way it has been implemented, and with the recent patch, is really, really bad! My reason is this - I have logged over 250hrs+ since release, I have battled dying every 2 minutes for 4 hours straight from OP Wolves - Streamed it too... I have rebuilt bases over and over due to night raiders, I have moved from island to island because of grievers, I have rebuilt ship after ship because as a small group with varying times, it is hard to ensure that proper defences can be built... However, back to the age and why it''s a game breaker... As stated, I have over 250hrs+ already, I started off at the age of 20 in game, and now I am currently aged 92, That means, lets say I put 10 hours a day - In 25 days, I have aged 72 years... So, every say 20 days, I am now FORCED to go to these ruins to reset my age, with no guarentee that I will find the right one - It takes 30 hours apparantly to sail across the map, So I'll leave it at 20 hours to go from power stone to powerstone - Lets add another 3 hours on to check each ruin (Taking into account how often I am going to die to god knows what) lets times that by 8 (24hours) - so now already after 20 days of superfast aging, I now face a potential of another 2days and 4 hours to reset my age - But now lets take into consideration that it could infact change position again overnight... So there is an exxtremely high possibility, that I could endlessly be going round to try and reset my age for days, if not weeks untill I am lucky enough to find this age reset... That is a gamebreaker, It's not so bad if you are in a big group and can send everyone out to find it at once, it could possibly be found within a day easily, but for smaller groups/solo players - it is nearly impossible... Now, If i want to continue to play the game, how I want to play the game, without being forced to play the game in a certain way, I have to deal with a stat debuff, which again limits the gameplay for solo players/ small groups... I think, you should at least get the aging aspect right - So if we age, it should be 1 year for like every 10 days playing time, that at least means that we don't have to face this forced gameplay for at least 2 years, it keeps the aging and makes it better, not so fast... and also allows people to play the game in an unintrusive, unforced gameplay style...

The devs dont yet seem to realize - they can release as much “content” as they like. Good or bad doesnt matter, every issue with it will be amplified do to the core mechanics of the game feeling like dog shit. Fix the little things. Make logging in something to look forward to. Make the basics of the game fun and rewarding and stop putting out “content” that only large groups of end game players can attempt to enjoy.(and even that ends up being a corpse run zerg fest). Get back to basics devs. Combat is clunky, ai is busted and tedious(whether it be npc friendlies or pred/alphas). Fix the balance, no one likes dying 40 times a play session just to complete one task. And no matter what you log on to do, thats the experience for the majority.

Spawn at a freeport and make a ramshackle Sloop and sail to the island will be faster than trying to get a boat down there lol

The age debuff and the quest to get youth is def shit. Good luck getting that done solo or in a small company. Time for my company to move on.
  36. 3 points
Revert please, speaking for all members of company here. What is your design goal here ? To piss off your player base ?

Shows how disconnected they are from the playerbase and whats going on.

Yes, it is a dumb idea. If people start losing their characters, and they haven't even fixed the "load preset" bug, then you're going to see a lot of people quitting I think. This is probably going to be the straw that could break the camel's back. I know i'll probably be one of the people who quit.. I'm not having my character taken away from me because of some retarded mechanic that doesn't belong in the game. I'd rather quit than hassle on dealing with that constantly.

You must be mentally challenged or something. Nobody in PVE wanted this, quite the opposite, to make taming more appealing, since now it's kinda useless. And keeping people off boats in PVE? are you serious ? in PVE you can't shoot somebody that is overweighting your boat, you can only stand there and watch them do it. There needs to be CORRECT fixes in place, not this crap of making everything harder or adding more bugs into the game (floating above ships). @devs need to ADD OFFLINE PROTECTION! Add ability for anchored ships to NOT sink when overweight (make them so they cannot move), make people NOT move while over encumbered. Give us something to fight against alphas (fire arrows were the solution until you nerf them into the ground), etc. Read the damn feedback you are getting on all communication channels !!!!!11``!!!!!

Beautiful... pages over pages about concerns the playerbase has for example about alphas, wildlife, flags or exploits... and the reaction seems to be to add an alpha Dolphin

ATLAS isn't taming orientated game , it is a fking game of grinding !
  43. 3 points
I'd swear they use blindfolds, darts and grain alcohol to come up with their 'ideas' for 'fixing' things.

Yes I traveled to find wheat seeds. Took the trek up north. got the elephant {long tame} Brought him back home.. had a alpha snake spawn in where it shouldn't in a closed in barn...... Went back up with my wheat. got another.. got him home to use.. got like 3 loads, and now its nerffed. Come on guys if you don't want us taming plz just remove it from the talent trees!

Yeah, its kind of disheartening. Tames gathering was nerfed. Now carrying, and they still die stupid fast to even lvl 1 predators. Fire arrow gets another nerf, and guns are still unfeasible for PvE. The ship weight 'fix' still is a half-assed mess. I had 3 seagulls stuck on the lower deck of my half-build schooner in drydock. I was like watching the most macabre game of air hockey ever, and I got stuck on a neighbors brig in drydock while bringing him some extra planks. Why do ships in drydock also act like glue traps? Still nothing about abandoned claims taking 6 hours to take over, if, by some miracle, no random runs through it harvesting, or unallied people just logging off on a third partys claim. People want to be able to survive against even the lowest level predators. People want a reason to tame, and actually use those tames for, well, anything. People want to be able to take over abandoned claims, instead of just having pointlessly dead areas while so many people have no land. Naaaaaaaw, what we get is literally the opposite of that, with each and every patch. It feels like every single change made with the last few patches has taken more and more away from the players, and nothing has been 'balanced', just more and more tedium added, and handcuffing of what people can do. You play on PvE? Get on your boat and go get powerstones, because if you want to do anything else, its going to be a miserable slog and you'll probably die a dozen times while gathering basic mats to do anything. There's a reason why their 'showcase' builds are all private servers, while on official, we're stuck doing the most utilitarian builds to use the stuff we do collect efficiently.

As sarcastic as he is being, he makes an extremely valid point. By added new features without fixing existing problems, they are only going to create more problems for the pile. In turn creating more reasons for players to lose interest in a game with features, mechanics and content that doesn't work as intended.

There has always been a public banlist. Some of the Community who played ARK (amongst others) are familiar with it. We will be sharing it for those who are unsure as to where to find it soon.

Literally logged on to this nonsense patch. -You increase the weight costs of items at the same time as releasing a debuff on the entire population's weight. -What was the need for this Fountain of Youth crap? You want to force everyone into a node that can only support 50 people (cos they rarely work particularly well over that) -FOY. Why have you created another time sync that no one actually wants to do? -Alphas are insanely difficult to deal with normally(pistols/melee), and you've nerfed our tool to deal with them MASSIVELY. - The cost of fire arrows now massively out weighs the damage. - 10 fire arrows before a bow breaks? It took 6 fire arrows to kill my character with 170 ish hp. On normal games, the player base looks forward to the patch notes. This is all unhelpful, limiting and is putting people off the game. Had been close to persuading some friends to joining us in playing Atlas, can't honestly say I even want to play when you cripple us with thought lacking ideas. Let us have fun! Stop putting more limitations and hoops to jump through before we get to actually have fun!
