The overweighting issue is indeed a priority for our team and we definitely understand the frustration it's causing. We're working on a more delicate technical solution to resolve it, hopefully, we can get that in as soon as possible.

Either you are not reading the official forums or you are ignoring the community. Which is it? How many dozens of threads showcasing people's stuffed wolf and Alpha pens do we need before the message sinks in? This can't possibly be that hard or time consuming to fix. You've adjusted spawn rates already, so we know you can do it. I've just now killed 27 wolves in a killing pen we were forced to make and 8 Alpha's. All within a hour. They are ruining the fucking game. The current situation is fucking asinine and it's making people give up the game. I've personally lost 6 friends to it, because the tedium of fighting massive packs of wolves and Alphas just to engage in the tedium of farming all goddamn day to have a couple hours' worth of fun is too much. I have personally submitted tickets, screenshots, video, ccc, etc. Never heard a word back! Reduce wolf and Alpha spawn rates, speed, damage, health, and damage reduction! ENOUGH, IS ENOUGH....

Wildcard has never tested anything. Regardless of whether it was EA or not. We have always been the very first people to see any build in a play environment because Wildcard, by their own admission, pretty much ships any build as soon as the code compiles. The problem is that the OP is not necessarily wrong either. The developers use us as their only form of testers, meaning that most of them have never played the game, likely will never play the game, and that problem is exacerbated by the fact that they really don't care for or listen to community feedback. Most of the changes made via community feedback come from issues highlighted by Reddit or this community that generate what could potentially generate a PR firestorm and hurt their public image What Wildcard does/has/will do, is not an "EA" experience. Most EA games use the community as a testing ground, and reacts to how the community responds to changes/content/mechanics. Wildcard inherently ignores the community and uses EA as a cover for the fact that their company, as a whole, cannot produce content that is not broken. Compare and contrast actual EA projects by similar indie companies. Wildcard vs GGG, Ark/Atlas vs Path of Exile, is a very common and fairly accurate comparison. In Ark/Atlas, Wildcard puts out literally impossible content that persists for 8 months and is part of the core and integral PvE experience, ignoring (And in some cases openly mocking/degrading people giving feedback, as was done with the Ark Boss system). GGG releases bugged/impossible boss content and patches the boss out for further inhouse testing inside 24 hours (OG Vaal). We shouldn't normalize Wildcard's EA cycle, because it is not normal.

    1. Ship-Rear Cosmetics/Skins So we have figureheads, steering wheel skins and soon, sail skins. This might be a large suggestion, but the Brig and Galleons have cosmetic "cabin" styling on the backs of them. I propose new skins be made for the Ship itself that adds cosmetic changes to the back of ships. Maybe dragon heads from the back, working up the side? A skull? Hydra head? Cyclops hands? 2. PvE Servers, Allow Ship Claiming After Inactivity Currently, there is no ship claiming on the PvE servers. I feel like ships should be claimable if the player and/or company has not been online or entered the area within maybe 2 weeks? 1 week? Or simply cause the ship to be "Unclaimed" after 1 or 2 weeks of inactivity. 3. Repair All Structures It would be a tremendous Q.O.L. improvement to allow NPC crew to repair all structures including ceilings, cannons, walls, chairs, e.t.c. when the ship is anchored and the NPCs are unseated. Optionally, create a new structure to be placed on a ship in which you assign an npc crewmate to be in charge of repairing all other misc. structures on the ship. 4. Unseat All Crew I don't know about other players, but when I get off my ship, I unseat at least 4 crew members to ensure my ship's essentials are repaired before the next time I set off. This would be another amazing Q.O.L. improvement for the ship to have an implemented option to unseat all crew. 5. Man Your Stations Add an option to NPC crew on ships that assigns them a specific position on-board. Then add an additional option on-board the ship for assigned crew to "Man Stations." 6. Handling Sail; Reverse Allow Handling Sails to provide faster Reverse speeds. As it stands, ships can currently back up no matter what. If the Ship layout includes a Handling Sail, this ship should reverse slightly faster. 7. Captain's Deck Currently, the Galleon is the only ship that comes with a snap-able slot for a receded Deck to be placed higher up at the back of the ship. I propose another optional Deck slot be added to the back end of Brigantines and Schooners, like the Galleons, for cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing ship designs. (The Brigantine is especially difficult to make the ceilings and walls line up with the back end of the ship.) 8. Careening @mKHammerBro Introduce a new mechanic to ground Ships to scrape and clean the underside of the hull. In the past, this process was called Careening, or Heaving Down. Barnacles and other sea life clings to the underside and rots away at the wood. This could also introduce a new way to repair your ship's planks or add a temporary repair and/or speed buff to your ship. 9. Mooring @ikarirain Introduce a new item to be crafted at Smithy's from the Seamanship tree, Bollard. There are instances where a ship is too large to reach an anchor-able point, so it's been proposed to allow ships the ability to be moored in by ropes to Bollards, which can be placed on piers or shipyards, to safely "anchor" the ship in your territory, given anchoring isn't possible. Additionally, increase the amount of Bollards needed to moor a ship depending on the ship's size and/or weight. 10. Select All or Individual Sail Controls @Shakarian Ability to control all sails from the wheel, or select which individual sails to give certain commands to. For instance, all sails selected by default. But press keys similar to the cannon crews to deselect certain sails. 11. Look-Out / Telescope @Aristocrates It is known that being at the top of a mast gives the player a slightly larger render-distance so they can see ships and such ahead of time, but it would be nicer if there was a Telescope sort of attachment to build on the Smithy that could be attached to the top of the mast, further improving this render distance for preparation or avoidance purposes. 12. Collidable Figureheads @Grodgen Collidable Figureheads: Currently they have no collision. You can't stand on them and it also limits their functionality as actual figureheads. 13. Rotatable Weight & Handling Sails @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to rotate Weight Sails and Handling Sails 180 degrees when placed, depending on your desired placement at the front or back of the ship. 14. Rigging That Connects The Front Sail To The Figurehead @Kaitlynn Allen Add an option to connect sails via rigging placed at the front of the to the bow sprite/figurehead. 15. Catch Net @RebelMarmoset Add a structure for the front or sides of ships that catches flotsam and/or fish. Consequently, the longer the net is lowered, or the more items it catches, the more it slows the ship down. If you like any of these options, please reply to this thread with your comments and feel free to suggest some more ideas pertaining to ships! And a special thank you to @Jatheish for taking the time to read this! Loving the game.

Lets face it, Galleons and Brigantines are huge, and we like building our fancy piers and docks and parking our ships next to them. Unfortunately, with many islands, the land drops off super deep super fast. So, I got to thinking, why not add a mooring system using the same key that activates anchoring, inspired by another lesser known function, the map key. Did you know, when you double-tap M, it brings up only the compass, and when you press and hold M, it brings up only the map? This function tells me that it's possible to use a single key for multiple functions based on how it is used. This said... The mooring system would involve two craftable parts: A ship-mounted mooring rope (similar to how dinghy and diving apparatus is mounted) and a building-mounted set of mooring posts. You place these mounting posts on your pier, similar to how a wall will snap, and then build the mooring rope on the side of a ship. When your ships mooring rope is near a mooring post, you'll see an icon on the right, similar to how the anchor icon pops up. When it's lit, press and hold X (the anchor key), and the ship will begin a 10-15 second mooring animation while the mooring rope is tossed several times over the mooring posts, slowly tightening until the mooring process is complete, and freezing the ship into place as if it had anchored next to the pier. This process would allow ships to moor to a pier when the water is too deep for anchoring, and can help easily organize the space in a company's large pier by using the docking space efficiently.

You're gonna need to get over this one. There is more to this game than PvP. PvE is entirely a valid method of playing this game. And whether you want to demean them in your bubble or not, their opinions do actually matter toward the end goals for the game.

Good Afternoon @Jatheish, I am taking this time to write you in hopes you read it. I have spent a lot of time on the discord helping people with atlas, so much so that I am ranked number 10 on discord. So I hope this buys me at least 5 mins to read this message/post. First off I do have to say that the 2 games you guy have put out are really awesome games. Up until this point have really enjoyed both very very much. Little bit of my background, My brother and I now live on other sides of the country we play games together to stay connected. Ark and Atlas have been amazing for us as both fitted our playstyle and we love them both. We bought and played both Ark and Atlas, we were on servers from day 1. In Ark between us we are pushing over 6,000 hours. Heres where we talk about the problem. Between my brother and I we are pushing 600 hours in Atlas. As a 2 man tribe we have become a big trade selling animals across a lot of servers. We build all 4 ships (in order) Sloop>Schooner>Brig>Gally. As a two man team this was NOT easy. Took almost all of the 600 hours to get there. Last night after I logged of and before I could log back in the next moring. Several of our ships were sunk on the NA-PVE server, 2 brigs, 1 sloop and 1 gally. Who and Why are beyond the point. We don’t know there are several griefer tribe on the island/server we live on. What I’m here to say is that this problem can be solved with one of 3 choice. I will also say I’m not the first person that this has happened to and won’t be the last unless you take action. The options are very simple. 1. Remove ship damage from overweight. Until a more permanent solution can be found. As in ark, When a raft is over-weight it can not move, make this the normal for PVE servers. 2. When a player reaches his max weight, He should NOT be able to keep walking. As in ark he should be stuck in one spot. 3. When you pick up a body with 20,000 weight you should NOT be able to walk like your holding a 30lbs body only. Again this was corrected in ark. Any one of these three corrects can solve this problem and eliminate the ability if players to grief PVE players. PaX Vayln (Echo Hill) NA-PVE N12

Are you guys ever gonna balance these out. Wearing metal armor and metal weapons are useless. I try to explore. Get the xp and then proceed to die. Then die about 30 more times trying to do a corpse run. I've watched elephants and rhinos die to a solitary wolf, snake or vulture. It's getting harder to log in everyday since exploration is kinda pointless. taming is pretty much pointless. I've played the game. got land, got a base built. built ships, watched ships get sunk by other people griefing. Takes 2 carbine shots to kill a single wolf. When im getting tagged by snakes, wolves, crocodiles and vultures all at the same time. It's a bit much and the reload isn't fast enough. Then you have the pointless lvl 200 alphas... Yeah so I can waste 200 arrows to kill it just to have another spawn in its place.

This thread is not about taming is broken or taming sucks or tames cant live, etc. Its for those of us working with the system and trying to improve it, and those who want more information about tames. #1 Taming Change Needed IMHO: Riding skills should be separate branch of the tree. Its stupid that for riding 2 you need taming 1 and breeding 1 (and commands 1 but not commands 2). For riding 3 you need taming 2 and breeding 2 (and commands 2 but not commands 3). You shoudnt need to know how to breed or tame to ride. (you can make an argument for needing commands, but even then, because i can ride a pet shouldnt require me to be able to whistle it about to attack/follow/stay put, etc). Move riding to the survival tree. Onto pets... For me the must haves are: Bear - Probably the most useful tame to have. Now that you dont need honey to get it, its even easier. It solves all your fiber and berry/vegetable needs. It can haul a cargo wagon around to move a cannon somewhere to assault something (if thats your thing). Its a fairly decent fighter. Really good as a pack horse for other gathering people or animals. Should be gotten as soon as possible. Elephant - Solves your wood issues. Hauls a lot. Decent fighter, less than bear. Can seat 3 people, the two on the sides can fire weapons while mounted on it. Rhino - Solves your stone and metal (if metal node) problems. Fun to get a head of steam on. Little pesky to tame as they seem to resent it. Ostrich - Fastest land mount. Mine can sprint for 4 minutes (timed) without stopping and nothing on land can catch it. Not great for much else, but love it for getting around Tiger - Solves your meat and fish needs (can kill most fish in 1-2 hits). Fast mount, great fighter, bleed attacks allow for hit and run if you want. Nice leaps too. Cute when you level it up. Other pet notes FYI Giraffe - Almost as fast as Ostrich. Can seat 2 people. Can run in water where other animals or you would be swimming. Wolf - Almost as good as tiger, no bleed attack, but i do think it still gets a pack bonus if you have multiple ones. Good for meat and only tier 2 so less points needed than tiger. Parrot - Easy to tame inside cage. Gives fortitude bonus based on its level Monkey - Gives a Heal over Time buff, and who doesn't love to throw poop at people. Easy tame Crow - Gives an intelligence buff, tame like parrot. Chicken for eggs, Cow for milk - Able to cook some decent food (and hopefully more recipes as time goes on) Just my thoughts, ill answer questions if i know em....

The Ghost Ghost ??? Chinese company has been weight sinking multiple ships in different companies that live on the South East island of the grid with them for more than a week, but the evidence we've screen shot and submitted has only been from last Thursday. They have sunk a bunch of the ships of those of us that live on the island with them, along with any ship from people/companies that are just traveling through the grid and anchored at the island to log off for the day. Saturday is when they hit most of our ships and multiple report tickets were submitted about them, ~10 to 15 tickets were made, providing this https://imgur.com/a/wWGISv1 and more as evidence. The last pic in that link is the response we got from one of the devs yesterday. I log on this morning and see that they sunk yet another random company's ship that had anchored near their base last night that isn't even from the island nor grid and see that as of yet, none of the devs have come in and gotten rid of this group of players. It is unacceptable and utterly ridiculous that a multitude of your players have submitted proof of what they are doing along with them admitting that they're doing it, just for you devs to do nothing about them. I get it, y'all are trying to figure out a way to stop the exploit from happening so people don't get griefed by it anymore. That's great! Yes, do that! However, one of you should realize that what that company is doing is absolutely heinous activity, and goes against your code of conduct for the players. You need to do something now about these specific players and I'm sure other groups that have been reported to you doing the same thing, you need to remove them and their home and claimed areas from the game. Not continue to let them grief other players and keep them from enjoying a major part of your game while you figure out how to fix the exploit. Let me guess, even after you find a way to fix the exploit this company is still going to get to keep their home and land and players no matter how many players they griefed before you figured out a fix? So they aren't going to receive any punishment whatsoever and just get to keep playing the game knowing they fucked over other players and got away with it? It's absolutely ridiculous the way y'all are going about this @Jatheish @Amberenix @Baker @DebbySaurus @Dollie @Evza

Wolves seem to travel around in groups of 3+. lately we have been seeing 6 or 7 plus, sure a rifle can 1 shot A WOLF.... but the others eat your face before you can even switch weapons. They are chasing horses all over the island and not staying in their spawn area so as soon as they leave after that horse they spawn more. either make wolves weaker and easier to kill OR adjust spawns please!

Thanks, it's so frustrating you have to laugh. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger collection of obvious examples of developers that have done no or next to no research on the subject matter they've chosen to represent, so they decided to ask the nearest 4-year-old to do it for them. "Hey, little Timmy, how do vultures behave?" "Um, they growl and fly around and eat people! All the time! And if one gets in a fight, they all get in that fight, from everywhere for miles! All the vultures join in! And they like to eat sleeping people or animals, and if your arm hurts, they'll eat you too!" "Sounds legit, let's put that in guys! Next, tell us about crocodiles!" "Crocodiles are mean and big as houses, AND they like to EAT houses! All the time! They've got super sharp teeth so they can bite through walls and boats or ANYTHING! They also climb over huge rocks or mountains!" "Damn you're saving us so much time and effort on research, Timmy. We're so glad you could take a day off from pre-school to help us out!"

Well said. People need to stop acting like they are some sort of Prophet of Ark, Heralding the Doom of the World! "I played Ark, so I know what I'm talking about!" Yeah, take a look at how the Ark community (for the most part) is. There's a reason a lot of people steer clear of the public servers... and it's not because of the game. From what I can tell, Grapeshot is intending to take Atlas in a different direction. And while I enjoyed Ark and played a lot on private servers, I'm not interested in just another Ark With Boats. I'd much rather see where this game appears to be going, encouraging teamwork and cooperation, while still bringing a sense of danger and never knowing quite what's ahead around that next island.... Friend or foe? While there are a lot of well-founded complaints, there are also a lot of complaints that seem to stem from a lack of any degree of understanding on what the game is about or where it's going. Just a lot of "This is too much like Ark! But let's make it even more like Ark! Stupid developers don't know anything!" And if people are adamant about only playing solo and absolutely refusing to work with others and want the world to know how miserable they are... go play a different game. A single player game. Where the entire game is built around them playing solo. And that's coming from a person who typically plays a lot of solo, but also understands the world doesn't revolve around me. Enough with the "wah, wah, I'm being forced to play with other people in a MULTIPLAYER game." Either adapt or move on. PVP doesn't have to mean "maniacally murder anything and everything you don't recognize!" It can be present in a more intelligent way as well.

Seems the spawn points are on maximum overdrive. Will have 10 wolves spawn in. I can Kill them all, then within minutes 10 more wovles spawn in, along with two crocks and two tigers. Cannot get outside of my own base long enough now to gather the resources necessary to continue killing to at least gain XP. This is making it impossible to play. What gives?

When will you repair the breeding system? Now you want from us to stay online for a few days to make one animal, we must to take care on them, feed and warm them. It's not possible to do this. Here is an example of a bear. We need to wait 4 hours for breeding, 4h 37min, 46 sec for that they can feed normal, and warm them for another few days? Please fix it that it will be possible to everyone.

I needed salt. SALT. Rumors were there was salt 5 zones to the east. Loaded up the schooner with my best kit, ready for anything and for any length of time. The Patriot was rigged with a Large Speed sail and a Small Speed sail, the most it could handle. She was fast, amazingly fast and the wind was to my favor. No armament, just speed and storage. She could sail past a Ship Of The Damned without needing to even change course and without concern, she was long gone before they could even target. I found my salt after hours of sailing and exploring. Not only did I find my salt, I found some rare seeds and an insane concentration of metal. After one evening of farming I was ready to leave, over 5k Salt, 1,600 metal, some seeds, and a storage chest full of sugar (a nice little bonus). I was ready to sail home. The Patriot was still under weight and I was feeling good. My Company would be pleased with he haul. I was already thinking about how soon I could return with a bigger boat for a bigger haul. The wind was not so favorable for the trip home, and it was HOT. I sailed as far as I could before needing to retire for the evening, surviving heat stroke and one typhoon before I found a nice little island to harbor for the night. I went to bed pleased. I logged in the next morning feeling great, thinking about the Companies reactions to seeing The Patriot back home after such a successful haul. Enough salt for weeks or even months! My elation was short lived. I repaired and stocked up and set sail into unfavorable winds. After 20 minutes I was into the next zone where a typhoon was waiting for me. No worries, sailed through these before.... Then she sank. Sank faster than I could repair. The Patriot was no more. The 5k Salt was no more. All my best kit was gone. The metal, the seeds, and most importantly my spirit was sank. All lost. I didn't even try to swim away when the sharks and jellyfish came. But I did gain something: Even though I suffered a spirit crushing event, I had a freaking blast. I don't think I had a more fun than this 2 days of gaming in years. The scenes were stunning and the exploration was amazing. I must have stopped at 10 islands along the way, each one an adventure by itself. I have already learned from my mistakes how I will do it next time. I will be prepared. And it will be a blast. I have rage quit so many times when crushed like this, but this time (after a 15 minute cussing session), I was back at my base farming the mats for a new schooner, a better one, for the next trip for Salt And Glory. See you on the water.

To piggyback off of ship changes.. A few things I would like to see from ships: Better ship physics (Such as not being fixed to the sea floor when anchoring, and still floating on top of the water, or not insta-stopping when dropping the anchor) Anchor mods to allow deeper anchoring, maybe a mod for purchase at a freeport or such Flags on top of the masts - They look pretty naked and bare right now No longer clipping through walls and falling out of the back of the ship when it's in motion. This is especially bad when spawning at a bed on a moving ship

You can claim while sleeping/offline, as well as while not in the claim area, if, and only if, no one contests the area while you're not in it or in it and sleeping. If someone enters the claim area while you're not there, or are offline, after a really short time, it fails the claim. I've been trying to claim a small extension to have a spot to place a bigger shipyard (since the shallows are ridiculously large on our main spot) for 2 days, and even though the pop on our sector averages about 15 people, enough people wander through - even though there are no resources to even gather there - to reset the timer. 6 Hours is entirely too long to take over a claim from someone who quit the game over a week ago. Not being able to claim these dead spots, and tighten up the claim circles, since theres unclaimed space almost a half claim area wide on either side of this plot, is hurting the land claim system as well. Additionally, 6 hours to claim - 1 hour idle to timeout - You either stand in a claim doing absolutely nothing of use, for 6 hours, or hope that you're unbelievably lucky in no one running through, because in the time it takes them to cross the claim area, it adds over an hour back to the timer. People liked the idea of the more flags you have, the quicker the claim time - when it was 40 minutes. They were expecting that the people with huge quantities of flags would be able to be declaimed in 10-15 minutes, not that 40 was the new baseline for a company with 200 flags, and everyone elses time goes up from then. The claim time needs to be about 1-2 hours for a small company capture, if they haven't played in long enough that it is claimable, and its their only claim, they're probably not coming back soon. Possibly implement a system where every day that they don't reactivate the spot drops the timer by 30 minutes to an hour? Also, people - not the claim owner - just being in the claim area, shouldn't reset, or even contest, the timer. They should have to place a flag, and whoevers flag get to 0 first claims it.

I'm not asking to solo the whole game. There is a serious problem with the carnivorous animal populations. Yay for you that needs to have your hand held or maybe you don't leave your 2 story house ever. I went to J10 this morning to sail my ship and EXPLORE. Got tagged by 3 snakes, 1 gator and 3 wolves at the shoreline. About 5 vultures flying around. So me thinking I could run to the nearest rock to get up high to kill some things got tagged before I even made it there. Then spent another hour trying to get my corpse back to watch it despawn with all my shit. Every morning I wake up and kill about 5 wolves/lions from my cliff platform that has a 3 story stone. Along with 2 other cliff platforms. Numbers haven't gone down one bit. I die on my way to my boat. These are all at the shoreline..... Yep so I could build a fence. OH YEAH that requires resources and the ability to travel to get to them. Oh I forgot-just sail to a freeport. So I now spend another 40 mins traveling and loading up at the freeport with wood, stone, thatch and fiber. Then haul it back and unload and build because heaven forbid I harvest anything from my backyard. Oh yeah I would cept there are to many lions and wolves roaming the area. I kill them then alphas like to spawn in there place. So now im contending with alpha wolves, lions, horses.... I'm sorry if I didn't understand that I need a babysitter to do everything in this game 24 hours a day. We are all in our 40's with work, children and spouses. I guess I just won't log in till my adult babysitters can supervise while I go sail around and do one of the key points of this game-EXPLORATION.

I don't normally like posting complaints on public forums, but this situation is getting out of hand. We've had people come by N10 just on treasure hunts and get their boats sunk. People who have absolutely no ties to this server and they get sunk just because their ships happen to be on the shores. As a PvE server we have no counter play other than to try and build big walls or possibly garages for ships. Even a small company like [DEAD], which is primarily a solo player had two of his brigs sunk. He proceeded to quit and uninstall the game. There are many players here who love the game, but this is really driving many of them away.

We had several people in the region end up hitting the 2 sandbars near our island so we built small versions of the lighthouse out on them along with placed signs to try to warn people. I agree there needs to be some incentive for some, but for us the friendliness of most people in the region has been enough incentive to be good neighbors.

They just stated that they have tried it. They do fit. The only table with issues is the cooking pot, standing on deck above it will kill you, but you can easily replace that with a grill. Also "Put your forge on the top deck if you’re that dead determined"

It's an oversight indeed but from you. Please let me give you an example: First of all the smithy can be easily fit on a sloop, as well as a large storage box, a resource box and a food larder. All at once. (as I have on my sloop now). May need to twist the brains to get a few cannons going, but it's not impossible (personally not using any). Secondly, recently built a brig. I have a forge, loom, tannery, smithy all fit on the bottom deck without destroying any of the other decks and without blocking 12 cannons on the middle deck. The top is completely empty and yet unused, so at this point there still are many options. I'm not trying to brag, but just because you didn't think of how to do that doesn't mean it's impossible. And that's my point. Watch a few YouTube videos, maybe they will inspire you on some design ideas.

I see a lot of people saying they are losing their ships anchored in a freeport over night without any reason. The freeports are not meant to be your Safe Haven. The decay is so high that you will lose any ship within a few hours. It's not a bug, it's intended to prevent people abusing the freeports as a no PVP safezone and also to prevent the freeports being FULL of ships in PVE and PVP. If you have seen the freeports before they changed it, you know what I am talking about. So again. Don't park in freeports or you will lose your ship. (also not sure if people actually read this But at least you can try)

As per the subject, I feel that Common quality blueprints should be craftable w/o the skill requirement. By all means, restrict Fine and above to specialists in the trade but in a game with restricted skill points, having common prints openly craftable allows players a little more freedom to be independent.

After thinking about this for some time this is the conclusion I've come to too. The claim system just doesn't gel well with PVE unless there are limitations on how much land you can claim and costs associated with maintaining the claim so there is a higher turnover of owners and certain groups don't take over massive swathes of land. Otherwise I can just see those areas become ghost towns after a few stories come out about how ppl were griefed (true or false, mud sticks). I really like the idea that the devs wanted us to create towns and co-op societies but in a PVE environment I feel this would have been better achieved with thoughtful map design and pre defined areas / lots in central hubs that could be rented from an imaginary overlord with the rest of the map being similar to how lawless is now. People could rent a small lot to trade from and place a bed and some storage in the 'city' Large bases and land grab is more a hang over from Ark and seems inappropriate for a pirate game anyway imo. Ppl are too wary of being trolled to trust a player landlord or tenant under the current system in PVE. EDIT: Also considering the renting lots in a town grid idea type of thing I was just imagining how awesome it would be to walk through a street of player designed houses with players trading or hanging out. Would be cool to see what ppl could create in a small space.

^ This 100% The lack of a thatch harvester actually working better than a tool is incredibly sad. The elephant has put in some good work on wood and the bear on fiber tho if it's any consultation lol. Also like you said, taking the tames out when they just get wrecked by the hordes of crap running around and alphas, makes it even worse. Tames have almost gotten to the point of pointless now..

Yeah we've investigated spawns with my company, and it seems that it is tied to player activity so the more you move around the closer to hell it becomes, and that unless you kill them they will respawn as soon as they are moved out of their spawn area. It's crazy. You can most likely crash a server spawning an infinite amount of NPCs if you're somewhat dedicated.
