If claim flag maintenance is going to be put into effect, it needs to come directly out of the bank only. Individual claim flag maintenance will only further RUIN the system for small companies and solo players. claim flag maintenance directly at the flag makes the game even more tedious than it already is currently. Running around, and sailing around to each flag to do maintenance is simply a tedious mechanic and completely unfun.

Can you say why you think it would ruin it for small companies and solo players?

The bank is a good idea, but you would still need a way to pay claim maintenance when there is no bank. I can't imagine a claim system that requires you to own a bank. Unless you are thinking the first 3 or so claims are free, ones after that require a bank and maintenance.

I played a bit of Wurm, you simply had to put some gold in every so often. You could put in enough for 1, 2, 3 months if you wanted (any amount really). Assuming that it works like that, how is this harder for solo players (assuming they can collect enough gold)?

The issue is the overlapping of claims, Whats the point of paying for a claim if someone else can overlap it and take your stuff anyway.
If they really want to fix the claim system then the flags must be in designated areas that cannot overlap other peoples stuff and remove the water claims.

he is saying you'd pay it through your bank. Possible formula 1x 2x 3x something like that.
