Kaitlynn Allen 10 Posted January 27, 2019 I'm sick to death that every time it rains at sea you get cyclones! Does anyone know the server settings to reduce their frequency? I still want it to rain at sea, but I want the chance of there also being cyclones reduced to about 20% Thanks in advance  1

Vhalkyrie 38 Posted January 27, 2019 I haven't figured out any of the weather related commands. I tried some from Ark, but they didn't work. If anyone knows the weather commands, I'd like to know.
HelixU4 21 Posted January 27, 2019 use the RainIntervalMultiplier in GridEdito ServerCustomDatas1: RainIntervalMultiplier ServerCustomDatas2: valuehere 1 is vanilla 0.5 is 150% more rain and cyclones 1.5 is 50& less rain and cyclones But do note that this will also affect rain on land. Rain and cyclones are tied together. 2
Firedragon 49 Posted January 28, 2019 I would love to double raining and cyclones reduced to 1/3.
HelixU4 21 Posted January 28, 2019 You cant have one and not the other, not at the moment. When it rains there will also be cyclones at sea. Cyclones are 100% guaranteed when raining. So only way to reduce cyclones is to reduce rain. Â ServerCustomDatas1:Â RainIntervalMultiplier ServerCustomDatas2: valuehere 1 is vanilla 0.5 is 150% more rain and cyclones 1.5 is 50& less rain and cyclones

Rain and cyclones are tied together. Nice find. I really hope they haven't been lazy and just tied Rain and Cyclones together. I don't mind the cyclones so much, I just wish they didn't automatically appear, there should be a percentage chance that they appear, they should not be as common. However, what really annoys me is how they appear to follow you and seem to spawn right in front of you, it ruins the immersion for me.
Firedragon 49 Posted January 28, 2019 Cyclones are ship attracted.

esditas 8 Posted January 29, 2019 ...but its a game function or not? Play ARK with less Raptor or SE with less Electrical Storm ^^ 7DaysToDie with less Zeds ^^ Â The Cyclones will disappear you land on a island instandly or you lose your ship and stranded deep...also a part of the Game... Less Cyclones is no way in my opinion.

Namoni 1 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Sorry to Necro this but god that is wrong! You will have to go through every zone either in the Grid Editor or use notepad++ This is the correct way In Notepad++ you may see something like this "ServerCustomDatas1": ",RainIntervalMultiplier,", "ServerCustomDatas2": ",0.36,", you would change it to "ServerCustomDatas1": ",RainIntervalMultiplier, RainChanceForCyclones", "ServerCustomDatas2": ",0.36,0,", Be very careful going through these settings as if you notice this it is different in how it ends. "ServerCustomDatas1":NPCShipDifficultyMult,NPCShipDifficultyLerp,NPCShipNumMult,FloatsamQualityMultiplier,TreasureBottlesEnabled,DisableClaimFlags,NPCShipSpawnIntervalMult", "ServerCustomDatas2": "2.0,0.5,1.6,1.4,0.0,1,0.21", If I were to change that one it would be    "ServerCustomDatas1":NPCShipDifficultyMult,NPCShipDifficultyLerp,NPCShipNumMult,FloatsamQualityMultiplier,TreasureBottlesEnabled,DisableClaimFlags,NPCShipSpawnIntervalMult,RainChanceForCyclones",  "ServerCustomDatas2": "2.0,0.5,1.6,1.4,0.0,1,0.21,0", This way you still get rain but no cyclones. I found this setting by going through the default ServerGrid.json with Notepad++ and there were several zones that had it applied. Since then I always add it to my own map and have not seen a cyclone since, apart from one zone I missed then went back and corrected, however I do still have rain.  Edited December 6, 2020 by Namoni
