Atlas numbers dropping fast!

Recommended Posts

No one wanted to see this but with the trolls on here telling people to drink the cool aid and the game is EA and everything is fine day shows in the numbers everyday that its not fine. The bad reparation the game is getting from youtubers and no new players joining in just old ones leaving as well as some hardcore supporters. One would think the Devs would STOP and THINK...

Maybe we need to take a step back look at what people are saying other than the fan boys and see how we can get wind in our sails again. Unless they truly  happy with the players they roped in and dont care about maybe hitting the big sales and becoming a big company. It will all just feel like a half hearted cash grab to many people as if Atlas was a after thought of a game and it will end up just like "Dark and Light" another wild card off shoot that I myself was super hyped as well as alot of other Ark players till we saw the bad direction of the game.

BTW people post concerns and complaints because they care enough to voice an oppion hoping that things will change... its the people that up and quit with out a word that could careless, chew on that!

It's normal for early access titles to lose a lot of players.

It will settle down to the people Woh are ok testing EA games and are enjoying the game.

People will come back for large updates and leave again after.

Nearly all EA games are like this.

the Problem is, that there is no Option for a "come back for an updaten", because there will be no land to settle 😉

Of course they are, I havent been able to log in for days, I think today is day 4.  It took them 2 days to even acknowledge there was an issue, even then it was a post nobody saw on Discord.

Can you imagine when they finally get it fixed people logging in to find their claims taken and/or ships gone?  Thats insta-quit for most.  It would be spirit crushing.  The truly insane part is, I AM REALLY ENJOYING THE GAME.  Im not one of those salty people who complain because of some dynamic or mechanic isn't to their liking, but I also just want to play and would seriously consider quitting if I lose my shit and needed to start over.

We also heard all along that conan would get better because it was EA drink drink drink rofl less than 4k people play that game on a daily bases now and no new buyers

Dark and Light currently 303 people playing. I wonder exactly what devs were part of Dark and Light and if those devs are part of atlas. I see the exact same path, terrible, terrible decision making. Both offshoots of Ark....

To me both have one thing in common. They focus on balancing before bugs. Their balancing generally has a negative effect on EA testing.

You can't make drastic changes constantly and expect to keep 50k players. No matter if you "turn it back" later with another patch, once people quit only a few come back at a time for big updates. And each time, it's less and less. Until you get Dark and Light 303 current players.

Lemme put it like this, The minute they took away all the skill points in one of the early patches. I knew the path this game was going right then and there.  It showed their thought process.

Ich gebe dir so verdammt recht mit allem. Atlas ist als hätte man einen Sportwagen in der Garage, aber keinen Sprit im Tank. Naja, eigentlich weit schlimmer als das.

He is writing about the ignorance of the developers and a dead forum cause they ignore it anyway.

I'm one of the 303. It was confirmed on the DnL official discord that some people working on DnL are now working at Grapeshot on Atlas... One of the people who would post updates, Stormborn, wasn't heard from awhile, someone noticed she was on the Atlas discord now, they posted the other day to confirm she had moved... given the slow pace of progress on DnL and the cluster fuck currently going on in with Atlas, can't say im surprised.

We were told Dark and light was Ark with magic and that game got a ton of buzz and died now we are told Atlas is Ark with pirates and it had a lot of buzz and now dying looks like they never learn.

We were also told PixArk would be Ark with Voxels... and it has been abandoned too...
definition of insanity: “doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.”

Yup its like they really care how Ark is doing and just keep making these off shoot games from it for some quick cash grabs

Agreed.

This I why I keep saying add SP mode and true LAN server support, like Ark.  This would help the population stability. People who aren't up for all the exploits on official could still play the game in single player mode.

Also, major updates need to come with WIPES. This is the only way to bring new and returning players in. Also, supports adding SP mode, give new and returning players a testing environment to test out character and ship builds and hone their skills.

One of the reasons im not enthused by single player and unofficial servers is that by design, those modes can't capture the feel of the full game... a 2x2 square private cluster can't replicate the official servers scope... it's too expensive.

There is already a 3rd party program that switches servers for a full map experience on a normal PC. Sadly, Atlas servers will not function over LAN and my mobile isp dosen't work for port forwarding a internet server.

Constant wipes will decrease player base to 500 testers. And maybe they will be happy with server performance :classic_biggrin:

Do you feel +5% server performance by the way? ROFL :classic_laugh:

Not wiping the servers will lead to a slowly degrading players base with NO influx of new and returning players.

Plus EA wipes help reinforce the idea of a wipe for launch. Who would want to buy a $60 game with no fresh servers.

single player shouldn't be limited in the same way multiplayer is, your computer doesn't been the entire map at the same time in single player. It should just load up the one you're in and surrounding nodes. When you move, it loads new nodes. This is how huge map single player works.

Well, if they add it, or it becomes intuitive to set up ourselves, then it's something I'd definately give a go.

Maybe before launch they do wipe, but for EA time wipe is a catastrophe. Most of my guildmates are still playing because they have base, ships and tames. A lot of work was done and no one wants to start over again.
