Trying to mod... can't import any meshes or models? What?

I might be overthinking or under thinking it, but all I get anytime I try to import any models is

"Importing meshes with ComputeNormals is currently disabled. To enable, run the editor with -AllowComputeNormalsOnImport"

I'm facing the exact same problem, I'd love to put in new sails and cannons, I don't think we'll have any answers.
