Rhino metal only on Metal Rock ? Abit silly

Recommended Posts

With the extremely limited metal spawns on some island and no metal rocks on alot of islands - wouldnt it be benefical to add Rhinos gettting small amounts of metal from normal Rocks ? Like Ark and the Anky.

Only getting metal from dedicated metal rocks seems extremely silly - due to their limited numbers

Thanks for your consideration

Im more concerned about how the rhino can encumber itself in like 5 seconds of gathering.

And yet rhino don't have weight reduction for stone and metals , but they are the primary gatherer of those stuffs .

Whacky decision...

Give em time, im sure all pets will get a balancing and ability pass

Just like fishing is nowhere ready for primetime (being completely pointless right now)

And of course medic tree worthless

Melee trees needing love, etc.

This just seems like one more indicator the game was rushed out, even for EA. A rhino with no weight reduction and design limitations that make its intended role pointless out of the box isn’t design that needs further refining, it’s forgetting your wallet when you rush out of the house to get to the movie theater on time.

Well that didn’t happen with ark until like 2 years later. I am thinking they don’t want it to be completely the same as ark even though it basically is ark already

Damn makes the different tames pretty useless , 2 hits rhino full i haven't tested other yet giraffes etc but will try later this evening and see if results differ

Rhino certainly needs to be able to de-select berries for harvest and a weight buff for stone.  Extracting metal from rock would be a welcomed "feature".

You guys must have super bad rolls on rhinos. I can take out like 5 or 6 metal nodes, versus 3/4 for just myself. I would die without my rhino.

Rhinos aren't meant for harvesting metal.  Thy're only good for harvesting stone and some flint.  You're better off using a pick on metal nodes.

JM pick with T3 harvesting maybe gets 5 more metal per swing than rhino with 130ish melee. It is better to use a rhino. Unless you have a super awesome pick, but the time saved turning around and walking in slow motion back to the rhino to unload and then turning back around to get to another node.... well, that just is not worth it. You can fill a decent rhino up after maybe 5-8 nodes and that is less than a few minutes time. I do not claim to be a math genius, but riding a rhino is a lot quicker.

I simply cannot fathom how anyone who has used a rhino for any extended period of time is not aware of how much of a time saver they are. Sure I wish they could hold more, but it sure beats doing it by hand.

The way the islands are setup in most zones is that some will have large amounts one one resource but be lacking in others and so forth. The idea is to encourage players to travel and explore. If every island had everything on it then there would be no point to wars and conquering other lands.

People need something to fight and slaughter each other over, thankfully the devs recognize this.

Maybe if your island has virtually no pure metal. Mine doesn't but I still sail a Rhino north a grid for pure nodes because it's faster. Time is a resource too.

Are you saying human beings need something to slaughter each other over other than the same competition for resources seen in nature? Why that’s just about the most absur...*remembers religion*

Yup, you’re right.
