Sort out the damn lag we got swarmed and could not play

We just got swarmed by those people everyone complains about they flooded our server with 200 people which forced our defenders out of the server and into freeports.

It was impossible to defend as guns would not reload due to lag

There is also some weird bug that's being abused where as a naked they take 1 damage from melle or guns

Fix the damn stability so we can defend ourselves  and limit the ping

When servers are being intentionally over populated by attackers in order to force kick the players who own the land in server....well its complete bullshit. How are players to suppose to defend themselves when they kicked and the attackers dont? 

In case of server over population the players who dont hold land in that region should be the ones to kicked out, not the other way around.

It needs to be fixed because at this point its game breaking and being abused by the MEGA TRIBES.

nothing to do with overpop the game is ran on piss poor hardware,eu pvp has a multitude of unplayable sectors with 255 when theres only even 50 players on it completely unplayable

Has everything to do with overpopulation when 200 players rush a server that's half full and the server kicks the players that are based there instead of the players who dont have claims there it gives you no chance to defend what's yours. We had every Company member kicked but 2 or 3 members when the server was rushed. How is that not an overpopulation problem? Lag and server performance has nothing to do with how they have the servers population control set up. 

Plus the sudden upsurge in players playing with God awful ping(you know who they are) causes everything to lag to the point that our/your base is undependable.

It's not perfect, but 30 NPC pirates on cannons and guns and 50 pet lions, bears and rhinos roaming around help... they don't get kicked when this happens.

Had a similar thing happen to us as well over the weekend.

 

We had maybe 25 people online then got zerged and server pop went up to about 200.

 

Lag was so horrible it made it hard to defend. Could to grapple on to ships or reload most of the time and hitting something was next to impossible haha. Still enemy got head shots every time somehow :(. 

 

But we made them pay for the land they took the siege went on for 10 hours and we did manage to sink a lot of their ships. So it cost then a lot more than what we had lost..

ah ok so 38 players in a sector from all over the world 22 of them on our isle getting massive lag and 255 ping has to do with overpop ok then lol

Not really sure where you're getting the number 38 and 22 from as far as the overpopulation goes it's when a massive Zerg comes into the sector you're in overpopulating it so the people that were already there get kicked out. That's what creates the lag I've played in plenty of sectors with lower populations and players with high ping and have not experienced the amount of lag and bulshittery then when a zerg overpopulated the server lags it out and you get kicked out of it well they run rampant. Overpopulating a server causes way more lag than just 50 or even 100 players cause.

And mystically, only the defenders get kicked and have lag. Yeah. Technically completely legit. NOT.
Even if i wasnt a telecommunications engineer, working in the broadband business, i wouldnt believe that BS.

And nobody even wonders why the defenders cant reload their cannons, while the attackers can? Its simple: they cant. Lag is lag. If the server has lag issues, every player on that server is affected.
If only a part of the players is affected, its not a server issue, but an issue related to someones personal connection.

well i get the numbers by pressing escape and reading them which proves its also hardware related

The lag is horrible, the building lag is horrible the pvp is horrible. The game is not good at all right now, but i still hope it does well in the future. Looking for other pvp pirate games in the mean time.

This is why server performance has been and is being looked at so heavily by the dev team.  This game cannot reach its true potential without these issues being resolved.  IMO that needs to be the highest priority the entire time this game is in EA.  Its ok to have secondary concerns and priorities as new content needs to be added.  Client updates for performance and other assorted changes need to be made.  Overall though this game does not fulfill its promises unless the servers are rock solid and expanded upon. 

My guess is they need to increase performance of their services as much as possible and then run an audit of their server fleet to determine its weaknesses and correct as needed whether thats through config changes and/or capacity increases.  For this game to run the way it should you cannot do one without the other.
