How to get a ton of resources?

Hello there! 

I learned a medium ships and trying now to build one solo. 
And I revealed that it need a harvest a very lot of resources. 

And what way to harvest so many resources without many of boring? 
I have not big interest fro taming like in ARK but is it need all the same?

Yes it is needed, bear for fiber, Elephant for Wood, Wolf for hide and Bull for Tatch.
