Jasper 14 Posted January 8, 2019 Does anyone else find the sheer brightness from torches/lanterns far too excessive? That one torch is putting off that much light. It doesn't look nice and in fact, it's far too hard on the eyes. Am I the only one that finds the incredible glare just too much? Below, is one torch and one lantern at a long distance.

In certain areas, I think I see better even without them.
Thor Ragnarock 99 Posted January 8, 2019 I totally agree, at my outpost they have some up around the building they are quite annoying at night due to just how intensely bright they are.
Jasper 14 Posted January 8, 2019 On other games, it seems I could never have enough torches at times. This one, however, one shines with the intensity of the sun.
Apokh 10 Posted January 8, 2019 Would also be nice, when they would drop the durability loss. We have a extended Trading Post now and nobody wants to pick up a dozen public lanterns every day :/
Acemore 4 Posted January 8, 2019 +1 on this. Both torches and lantern grow way too bright. A brightness setting on the torch or lantern (by holding E) would be an awesome fix.
Razorwire 15 Posted January 8, 2019 3 hours ago, Jasper said: Does anyone else find the sheer brightness from torches/lanterns far too excessive?... Tint a lantern with grey or black paint to tone down the brightness. 2 hours ago, UDO said: ...everyting look yellow... White, grey or black paint on a lantern will give clean light. Razorwire 15 Posted January 8, 2019 Makes a hell of a difference. Standard Lanterns Grey tinted Lanterns
Jasper 14 Posted January 8, 2019 Guess I'm cooking up a ton of dye. That looks better than the hot garbage the base lanterns are.
Razorwire 15 Posted January 8, 2019 Most of our wall Lanterns are grey, you need a few more to fully light an area, but the glare and haze are way down. And before anyone asks; no, you can't tint torchlight.
Acemore 4 Posted January 8, 2019 What if you want a cozy orange glow, but not as bright? Which dye is best?
Razorwire 15 Posted January 8, 2019 Not tried oranges. Red, greens and cyan are all quite vivid though, so I suspect you might be out of luck. Give it a go and report back
Lolifister 14 Posted January 8, 2019 Agreed, way too bright.

I removed all my lanterns cause they were just too bright, even with just 1 in my house. They'll be going back in tonight
