ATLAS: Zombies Evolved

Honestly, you could replace the models of the NPCs in this game with zombie versionsĀ and it'd actually improve the immersion. It certainly wouldn't make a noticeable difference to the gameplay. The AI wildlife in this game all follows the same patterns:

  • Relentlessly pursue players, going so far as to attack reinforced player structures if they can't get to the human meat inside.
  • Are completely unfazed by pain or mortal injuries, stopping only when slain.
  • Lack fear or morale, rushing headlong into a hail of bullets even as they see their own kind cut down around them.
  • Regenerate rapidly once they consume flesh.
  • Wander aimlessly in place or stare at walls when they cannot find a source of sustenance.

Of course, I wouldn't want to play a game like that, zombies as a genre is all played out. But, just throwing it out there... the creature AI right now feels like it belongs in a completely different game <.<

The absolute worst is when you aggro a bird like a vulture or a seagull. You can't get away from them. They relentlessly ding you in the head for miles. I'd say it's probably the most annoying thing in the game, and was added for this reason (joke).

They even however about if you're underwater, then you ding your head when you surface.

Yeah, tbh abusing the fact those idiots go attack structures, luring alphas to home, sitting on the side of wall that would prefer their head to stick out, slap them few times with sword so they keep agro and blunderbuss them to death, very effective when having stone walls, for ppl with wood and bellow..., pray for mercy as this game has none. Today lost tiny shipyard bcs wolves literaly didn't want to chase us, they prefered to eat that shipyard, killed in total 2 alphas and 5+ normal wolves in defense of that thing before it died. The only way to get them off the thing they bite is either wait very long time (not guaranteed, but they might just go after player finally or some animal) or walk up to them risking almost a guaranteed hit and that's almost a must as they stick their heads into buildings making them unable to be hit unless sticking thro the wall, floors, machines etc hide their heads. Today got 3 or 4 lvls just for killing alphas... so "rare".

Our neighbours lost a brig because they left a chicken on board overnight and a wolf gnawed it's way through the hull while they slept..

I cannot even begin to describe how absurd that behaviour is

Oh, was planning after patch 10 that will tame a horse or something that gathers stuff... but if animals have such gps that they can see thro walls then meh, sad.
