Hound1ZA 7 Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) Hey everyone, So I've been going through the forums after getting back after dong human things and sleeping, only to be met with my Sloop being destroyed in a free port. I see a lot of complaints that there are griefers weighing your ships down and destroying them to get your loot. How are the devs not combatting this? This completely ruins the game, not to mention the Claim Flag spam that clearly people don't need and everyone else needs to just waste their time sailing around never to find any spot to call "home". I really would LOVE to hear from a dev on this and I'm sure everyone else would too. Let's hear from you guys, we've stuck through the single most rocky start to an MMO, the very least you can do is reply to us. EDIT: Please note, this is on PVE servers. We play PVE to play against the environment and explore the game but this isn't possible if you are a human and need to sleep and eat and work with all the griefers. Percieval 1,067 Posted January 6, 2019 And what is it ignorant about it then?

Ignorant meaning they think they've got no issue like this since they've done nothing to combat this or even mentioned anything about it. The fact that its Wildcards sister company and Ark went through the exact same issue with pillars and foundations and are doing the exact same mistake Wildcard made themselves. Being the first two weeks of release and the rocky start, you'd think they're sitting there trying to calm people down or at the very least acknowledge some of the issue's and are working on some sort of fix. I fully understand that its an EA title, but to have something that's going to completely ruin peoples enjoyment in a product/company they're trying to support just should not be the case. But hey, they've got our money so who cares, right?
moriak 12 Posted January 6, 2019 Ships in Freeport decay really fast. There is a problem with the weight exploit but that doesn't mean that your ship was sunk using it. If you leave a ship in Freeport, it will decay and sink within a few hours. By Wednesday you should be able to rent land from other companies. So if that's what you'd like to do you can start looking for a reputable company to rent land from.

I was away for six hours, is that long enough for my Sloop to decay away?
TrevorJD 117 Posted January 6, 2019 The simple fact is that griefers can overload on PVE. Period. That shouldn't still be a thing two weeks after launch, early access or not. They already have the knowledge for how to stop it with the Ark "tribe only on platform saddle" code.

You can see the exact time if you drop a camp fire in a Freeport

Coggage 239 Posted January 6, 2019 Good lord, another "my boat sank in Freeport" thread... That must be around the 97,000th since launch day.

Now I know and that was a small part of my rant. Congratulations for overlooking everything else just to call someone out. If you actually read the reply's I even own up to assuming my ship getting sunk. Imagine that on the internet! Maybe next time help someone out instead of just getting on that high horse of yours. Or just don't say anything, it's that simple.
PillWhore 8 Posted January 6, 2019 The devs are just busy working on server stuff and fixing bigger problems than the ships atm give them more time to work on the stuff that makes it actually impossible to play, with the ships sinking on pve at least you can build another and keep playing even though that sucks. Fact is there are bigger problems and they will get to yours. If you just looked you’d see that they are doing their best to communicate with the community and early access takes time 11 minutes ago, Hound1ZA said: I had no idea, kill me. Don’t feel bad about not realizing your ship sank in Freeport there isn’t much to say it’ll sink that quick
Coggage 239 Posted January 6, 2019 "Everything" amounted to you saying the Devs don't reply and that everyone is complaining about "whatever". Nothing there of note really, as you were just padding out the fact your boat "mysteriously" sunk. There are threads EVERYWHERE in here and on Steam about it. Do you read the forums at all? No, I bet not.

Seen only one response from Jat here on general, he literaly have like 60-70 posts only. 2. Atleast 1/3 of posts in here or on steam are about overpowered or broken predators, they did nothing except for sharks which barely matter. 3. Many posts about ppl land sniping or sinking with stones/overcrowding ships in PVE, they tried to fix the claims 2 times, both times failed. 4. Ppl complain about walls of SoDs even after 80% spawn reduction, mainly on grid borders, they still didn't put the same restriction they did for shores here. 5. There are very few but still complains about whales either one-shotting or being just radiculous as climbing islands. They realy don't communicate, when was active on some indie companies, there would be always 2-3 devs talking with ppl... daily.

As far as we know, they're working on it, but like they stated, they want to fix the core problems of the game first like connection issues (bit understandable) before going full on balancing stuff. That's what they stated and that doesn't mean they don't know about certain problems. They have balanced stuff already like the SoTD and sailing, even though I didnt like the last one.
