Teleported to my ship just in time to see the chinese dragging someone weighting a billion kilos onto it. Got it out in time then my neighbors got sunk. How hard is this devs? Don't allow someone to pick shit up that makes them more than 2x their weight. The guy in question is holding 20k at LEAST. Their are tons of videos of people showing this, you just pick things up others drop till you weigh a trillion lbs. inside a 3x3 grid around us about 40 ships have been sunk this way. We aren't launching our galleon and it's just sitting there because of this. Tens of thousands of hours of peoples time are being griefed away Because you cant just be all IF OVERWEIGHT NO PICKY UPPY?

Morons.

Watching them currently and they just funnel him more and more weight by disassembling ships they sink, good job devs, way to go you made griefing viable and profitable in pve

Just a solo player primarily (have a couple of RL mates who have a couple hours playtime a week max), just caught two players from Bad Company  (EU PVP Whale's Wrath) sink my little sloop for no apparent reason in a freeport using weight exploit.

Do you actually do anything about this stuff?

This has got to be the dumbest shit, they just sank 5 ships all around our island, I'm having to sail to the frozen regions to stay away from them.

I guess region locking is racist, and so is fixing exploits to allow fucking assholes to destroy the game. Don't even get me started on taxes from the land grabbing fucks. But if this is a feature and not a bug, fuck this game, even pve can't be safe from griefing shits.

The bug is worse, you can drag someone with a grapple it looks like when they are overweight to move at full speed

Ok if this isn't fixed monday we are going to take our 40000 kilos of metal and sink every last chinese ship in the sea, cause there is also a way to negate the weight to max weight of the player until they change inventory weight. I can drop galleons on a fucking sloop

punish the players? Just fix it, make ppl not able to carry 45000lbs of materials. You think the chinese care about one account banned or 100?

Yes, I think if the company was stripped of thier land and assets and dropped into FP's across the map back at level one (for instance) people would soon learn.

Then companies would learn to vet thier members. I don't actually think it'll happen in any way, shape or form of course. This would be in addtion to a mechanics fix. If you want to clean your house, both are required.

It's pretty sad I can't leave my ship for 2 minutes without this happening in a freeport. May not seem like much to you, but to me that little ship I'd leveled into the mid 20's represented me and my RL mates who can only play for 2-3 hours a week actually doing something. They don't do any resource gathering, just log on for a little bit, sail around on a small ship and pretend to be a pirate.

I've already witnessed a number of small group players give up and leave the game because of this sort of thing.

Honestly, I can even understand guilds engaged in a dirty war doing this. At least it is to some end. I'm not entirely sure what a player gains by sinking a little sloop off the shore of a FP. A bit of wood, thatch and fiber?

You know what I often spent my time doing on my little ship? Rescuing people stuck in a loop spawning in the middle of the sea, ferrying them to land and talking like a pirate at them to give em a bit of a laugh.

It's not like I can even report a player for exploiting.

We actually we're grabbing people from freeports and inviting them to guild and getting them to a new island in exchange for some farming for a hour we would outfit them to hell and back and find them a parcel of land. But right now, this is my mentality

II'm done, I won't sink the little guys but maybe, just maybe if there is enough pain and suffering they will fix it, because we have a galleon in drydock we cannot even let loose because boat sinkers are all over our island, i walked in on a chinese guy overweight trying to sink it before it was even deployed. Might as well get the resources for myself right?

I'm infuriated because I love this game and honestly I think the pvp can even be fun, but I just want to play with my mates without having to have everyone up at all hours policing shit on PVE. Going to bed now, in the morning, chaos.

Honestly man.... I don't really blame you.

Dev's pull your fingers out... as it stands I think I'm pretty much done.

Went on a little journey with my mates, a little journey across a few zones. That's all my mates playtime as this takes a few hours. Get to a freeport 30 mins after one has to log, it's gone midnight already (I'm an old fella, one of my mates can only play after 9:30 after he's got his kids to bed and infrequently). I certainly can't sail back to my base (in a fricking lawless zone cause hell knows finding even a tiny parcel of land elsewhere is probably going to be impossible), I can't leave my ship in any other zone as being on PvP it, and we, wont be there in the morning. So, I have to park it in a freeport and set my alarm for the middle of the night (like a right sad git) because the ship wil need repairing so it is sure not to sink from the super decay in FP zones and plan to sail back in the morning.

I log on at 7:30 in the morning, swim to shore to get a bit of food. Within 5 minutes I get a popup saying my ship has been sunk, rush back to see 2 players from "Bad Company" picking up the megre pickings from my ship (essentially nothing of any value) apparently just to be tosspots.

Oh, also it's my birthday today and I'd planned to do a bit of self indulgent playing. Really don't have the heart for it now. Happy birthday to me eh? *fweep*

Why even have it that a ship sinks when overweight? It already can't move when heavy.

Partial fix suggestion, anchored ships do not take damage from being overweight.

Additionally one of the players using this exploit was called Micro Boy
