Wipe the servers, and keep moving forward with positive changes.

Recommended Posts

Too many players got an unfair advantage early on that snowballed when others could not access the servers.  Roughly about 22k players outside Freeports expanded rapidly. While half the playerbase could not even log in at all or consistently stay connected. A wipe is overdue by a few days already now that the game is much more playable. Increase the skill points back per level so smaller teams or solo players can stay competitive. Limit claims or expansion somehow by large tribes.

The game is getting better and being improved and fixed regularly. Wipe the slate clean and relaunch it if the files are corrupted. Dont overthink it. Fair is fair and now everyone can actually explore and claim land like a smoother launch would have permitted.

Maybe fix all the exploits, do something about aimbotters before a reset.

Considering they never fixed it in ARK, probably won't in this either.

Also a restart timer of every 12 or so hours to keep the server caches fresh would probably be a good idea in the future. Surprised they don't already.

I am not sure if having everyone logging into the starter zones will be better this time around anyway.. Servers are a lot better but still not sure if they could handle that again haha

They would have to reopen Lawless zones like they did before to prevent Freeport crashing. Also disabling corpses, lowering animal amounts in Freeports and all that jazz. Same thing as before except half the playerbase doesn't get to sail around for almost two days while the other half is stuck in limbo.

And possibly add an increase in time it takes to claim land the more claim flags a player or tribe has to somewhat limit rapid expansion by large tribes too quickly. On the backend of it taking a claim from a player or large tribe with a lot of claims is shortened in time.

It will just be the same clusterfuck it was the first time.  Big companies will STILL take the big islands, I know because I'm in one and we TOOK it from someone else.  It's not going to really fix much of anything like people think it will.  Only the people without land playing the rush lottery again and those who don't win will be back to complaining.

I wouldn't doubt a wipe will happen at some point since its EA.  It's to be expected.  Don't however expect it any time soon.  Its week 2 of EA ffs.  Group up, make alliances, find land.  This new patch with claim changes should make that easier to find friendly companies willing to let you build in a spot in trade for taxes.
