We're kind of going on the assumption that long term they wouldn't develop content just for single player and non dedicated only. That wouldn't make much sense, so the operative assumption is how to bring them to officials eventually, and the initial GC statements about that don't seem promising.

Amazing that people think this statement means it will never appear in official, but any command of the english language knows what this is saying it is not going on official right now at this moment, is exactly the same thing as saying it might go up shortly but we are not going to tell you that so that you do not think we are planning to wipe...   Notice that it does not say 'This will only ever be available'

This will be available to play on single player and non-dedicated at the moment.

Yeah I played it a couple of years ago. It is still in alpha?????

yeah it’s actually really fun. I love that you can dig. Built a huge underground bunker.

also went into creative mode and puts 1000’s of tnt all over the huge hospital and blew the whole thing up 😂

He mentioned in another thread that they are about to release alpha 18. Now I don't doubt that he's having a blast with the game and it may indeed be coming along nicely, but the fact that a game is still being labeled as alpha state 18 iterations in and counting when it's been out for years to the point where people like me who've never played it should be expected to at least be aware of it tells you much about the tortured and wildly inconsistent nature of modern game development.

Maybe It's like empyrion with not a hand full of devs. There it makes sense, that alpha state takes longer.

Yeah but 6 years? Note the initial release date to steam.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_Days_to_Die

they seem to be a small team, and they are constantly re-revising the game (like entire core game features) and adjusting them only for the sake of making the gameplay experience better and trying new stuff and a reminder that Anthem was in "Development" for 6 years too and it didnt manage to entertain me not even 2 whole weeks 😅

6 years is a long time. I'm not sure for 100% but I think there are only 2 devs @ 7dtd. I played it too, one or two years ago. Not a bad game but after the first zombie-wave it's too easy.

not sure how the old versions of the game player but now as your game stage (you level) increases you face harder zombies now, you go from regular zombies to zombies + ferals, to zombies + ferals + radiated zombies, actually in the upcoming A18 a "Demolisher" will make its entrance too.

Okay, but my point is no matter how small your team is, at some point I would say especially if people are paying for your game, you need to move it’s development forward in a way that makes measurable progress towards a finished product. If you’re 6 years in and still on alpha, as a player I’m gonna wonder if you have any real plan for what you want the game to become.

Yeah it seems like video games bring out the worse in human nature. Maybe because it is just pixels we are destroying and letting off steam instead of real life? I guess so but it might be deeper than that.

all I know is I start wishing bad things on people when I play clash royale. That game really brings out some hate in people smh

Some of those comments ought to come with a crazy speculation and bad data analysis warning.

Maybe a handful of pvp players looking for somebody to gank.   Is there some other large group somewhere all excited about getting to play with xbobs?  If so, please post links.   Or is this just you, contemplating the adoration and anticipation of thousands of players just waiting for you to join the game?    I don't know where you come up with some of this stuff.

Yeah, those 3 guys you quoted from the stream are a massive crowd.

You keep saying this when it's clearly not true.

Steam numbers in Feb. - 11,385

Steam numbers in March when a wipe is announced - 3,029

8356 people left the game when the wipe was announced.

Steam numbers post wipe -April - 5736

You think that number shows that 2707 new people started playing the game because they liked the wipe.  What it really shows is that after the wipe, only 2700 out of 8356 people came back because they didn't want to start over, didn't like the new claim system, or had given up on GS being able to produce a decent game.

Player wipes do not improve player numbers.  That wipe killed the server population, and it's never recovered from it.

What killed the Population was that the wipe was announced weeks before and it made No Sense to Play Till wipe.

We had Lots of People who wanted to start again at First, but they allmost all found other Games to Play during the waiting time.

I am testing WPE and it really makes the game more immersive, but it still needs a lot of tweaking, it was a good decision not to release it yet.

In the first camp I visited I already had a pirate NPC trapped under the ground making it impossible to conquer the settlement. If this happens on the official network it must be very frustrating. see screenshot below...

WPE Procedural - Procedural needs adjusting, Pirate NPC structures appear buried in the ground and their cannons often point to rocks, it would be nice for each flag to demolish all structures of a WPE conquered within the flag radius.

NPC Pirate -  If you are low level and play Solo you can forget you will not be able to win without firearms and a lot of patience.

NPC Pirate Ship - are too overpower a Brig Pirate lv.20 is more damage resistant than a Galleon SOTD lv 35~40. Despite being fun, for a second you forget that there are no humans there and much more fun than fight with SOTD the ships even repair themselves despite not having NPC aboard.

Thought WPEs were on by default.  Flew around looking for them.....didn't see any.   Scrolled through the list of launch options....saw the Wild Pirates box unchecked, checked it.   Loaded back in.....Wow, they are everywhere.  First wild pirate ship I saw didn't have any sails...just a flat deck.  Then saw several other with sails.

I agree the camp spawn locations might need a little adjusting.  Nestled against a cliff side with cannons pointing at the cliff make little sense.  Most camps appear to be reachable with cannon from a ship, but haven't even built a bed yet....  Just looking at the scenario they've created.   Didn't notice the lack of NPCs on the pirate ships other than the missing sails.  Game now kinda reminding me of Salt....if anyone has played that pirate game.

i agree but to be honest i prefer that than a rushed "finished" (finished my ass) game like anthem, and since its fun anyways i am so busy enjoying it that most of those arguments dont even make it to my brain 😂

well if you're having fun and feel like you got your money's worth, then really at the end of the day that's what matters the most. 👍

Nah, what they need to do is get rid of the claim system as a whole. No need to screw over the people that live on lawless because they don’t like the claim system

That’s pretty stupid lol. Why would you live on lawless because you don’t like the claim system. It’s not that the claim system is ‘hard’ or that there aren’t any islands.

Yes but not everyone plays in big companies to get the gold to pay for the island. I lived on lawless because people would just erase your structure within the time limit. I did start off on a claimed island and we were welcomed then within 12hrs it was gone so it was 2 fingers up to that idea.

I am another who thinks the claim system should change or just have factions to build within faction areas. I ended up on lawless and I will be going back there again without a doubt.

Until there is a difference between lawless and being a tenant then the 1% will keep those sceptical about it in lawless.

As it is tenants get nothing obvious for themselves and the island owners get cheaper island cost and taxes.

I've been a tenant since last wipe, and aiming to be again, why? - The island owner wanted those taxes and we had "lots" of good resources, so they built and maintained ramps and bridges spanning the island peaks where all the spawns were. They made it easy to gather lots so we did, and they gained the taxes.

You know, the way the game was designed. makes sense.

The WPE's are right now lackluster... You cant take them as a new player and by the time you can take them on their reward vs risk is not worth it. They have minimal gold, no resources, hardly any drops. The big ones are tough to kill.

Either scale them in difficulty based on distance from Freeport or on size of the island or something but right now it simply isn't worth confronting them.

Here is an idea, Have them hoard unsecured treasure maps...Ones you can dig up without the damned summoning and they offer 700-1100 gold. I can make that diving shipwrecks or hunting whales...Killing pirate gangs and taking over an island? 2 houses 48 gold and some fish jerky IF i'm lucky. It's fun yes but it is NOT practical for single player.

the nice situation you are describing amounts to about 1-10% of the total cases in wich a player lives under other, but even if we leave that aside the simple fact that we are supposed to be pirates yet are forced to live under landlords and pay taxes totally contradicts the essence of being a pirate, a pirate's dream has always been freedom not dependance, the claim system sheer existence is in my opinion absurd, as well as gating up content behind groupal activities, i dont think there has been a single pirate in history that became a pirate to "socialise" and "do things togheter" with other pirates, what they sold us is a completely different thing than what they are delivering.

Yup you are right, but this is also a sandbox survival game where you are free to work with, against or completely ignore the people around you.

True the owners of our island were very helpful, but it cost us nothing and they gained. Most the islands I visited had little to none infrastructure, some had ramps to high places, quite a few had signs marking resource spawns, I suppose it'd depend on the work the owners want to put into making their island welcoming to people farming resources. often it's not needed as some resources are readily apparent on arrival.

I must be lucky I've never come across any dissent between land owner and tenants in the game, on the regions I've had bases or the many I've travelled through or to, there has not been any aggressive chat on global it's always seemed very cordial. my only reference to it happening at all is through these forums, and knowing what a small percentage actually posts here I have no reason but to believe what you say to be quite rare.

When I first played on eu pve I finally managed after dying of vit def and weather elements 50 plus times to get to a claimed island, I tried to speak to owners and just got sarky remarks back. So I found a patch with no builds etc and built a tiny hut. Next day I was dead and hut was gone. So I respwned and sailed to another claimed island, same thing again. After that I went to d7 lawless and stayed there. No hassles at all and a friendly island too. Lawless is absolutely fine, although you will get spamming from time to time if your island has resources that people want to themselves.

My experience with the wpe are they’re everywhere. Mostly two camps per island. Trying to move around the island on foot near these camps dangerous. Many times I thought I was out of range they would either shoot s rifle or cannon at me. For npc’s they are very alert and good shots. Being single player I think it’s going to be difficult to claim an island or settle on one with their camps and boats.

I think it would have been better to make them more random vs on every claimable island.
