ok i am at lost of what it could be. me thinking its my gpu giving up the ghost maybe

since the last patch, my game has not been rendering some of the grpahics correcly,

after 5 mins of login , i think like 95% of the graphics has rendered but theres a couple of animals that render correctly, see screen shots links below

things i have tried,

setting the nvidia card settings manually from the nvidia 3d control panel, still looks the same

veriftyed cache, restarted, uninstalled, cleared the steam download cache and deleted any related folders for atlas, restarted pc , and then reinstalled, still the same thing,

drivers are up to date, its all fine,

i would be greatful for any advice i can get ,. i personnely think its my GPU on its way out,

I've been having a similar issue in blackwood lately. I'm no expert, but this could be caused by a memory leak in the coding.

Its game issue not your GPU or mby your system is way too old 🙂 So Some info about your PC components would be good help for us to understand where's real reason.

if my system was old i would not been able to run at all, so its not my systems age, its since the last patch they messed it up, my system is fine as it run really well, ok its quad core q8300 but runs well, so its either a game issue or a gpu issue,

We are having the same problem on blackwood.

On certain area's of the map some items show their low LOD, and it looks really bad.

Like the resource box, large storage and smithy.

Ik was playing with a friend on a server when we both noticed it, so i logged off and back in, and the problem persisted.

A litte further out at sea all of a sudden the textures where right again.

Fo both of us, at the same time.

So this has nothing to do with our GPU.

If the above image is indicative of what you are seeing, I see the same thing upon first loading with a very high end video card. This became more pronounced after some patches about a month ago, probably because of rendering optimizations.

It is a pretty typical loading optimization to start with a low LOD (level of detail), and then gradually swap/replace with the higher resolution textures as system resources become available. If your video card has low VRAM (<4GB), you might never get all the high resolution textures loaded in a scene.

i got 8GB and it takes over a full minute sometimes to change from that to the "loaded" textures, i know how it works, i just still find it funny we have to deal with this 8 months after EA because they wanted to go for another quick cashgrab and have focused their resources on the xbox version of the game instead 🤷‍♂️

I agree that it seems to have gone backward at some point. It has been a real rollercoaster since January. I actually thought performance was pretty good after the wipe, but player made content just keeps piling up and bogging down everything, which probably forced their tweaks to deal with it.

The hitches I see now when a new island comes into view are brutal and jarring, and I know that at least some of those islands are completely vacant.
