What would you like developers to add in the game?

Recommended Posts

I have more than 1200 hours played in ATLAS , my experience is more on PVE servers.

I wish the game had missions in Freeports to players.

It would be very cool to see cities with NPCs that had functions for the players.

I do not know if the final version will look like the trailer, but it's missing something like that for the players.

Yesterday I went with my members to golden age island to face kill Hydra and cyclops. The fighting mechanics of these monsters are perfect, so the reward for the player is very bad. It has no incentive, these monsters are hard to kill and you spend resources that are not worth the effort.

The game has improved a lot since the release, but still needs a lot of changes and we are here to try to make the developers, to hear us, to follow the best way.

What do you think is missing in the game for you?

NPC pirate forts are upcoming shortly but not for official at this time.  You will have to defeat them if you want to settle on the island and use their resources.  I suggest single player or coop which is just released as beta, or see if an unofficial wipes so they can add them.

Factions -

Make 4-8 factions (e.g. swashbucklers, corsairs, imperials) and make a small cluster of zones for each faction as starter zones and safe areas. Everything else is lawless, golden age ruins, etc

PvP faction objectives, add garrison control points in Lawless and the faction that controls them get specialized quests from outposts (like obtain a cyclops eye or hydra blood) and can access specialized vendors there (for cosmetics)

Rewards or at least some reason for PvP. Kill so many players of the Swashbuckler factions

Combining PvP and PvE systems into the same game. This can be done by making factions!

Freeports -

This is where you can turn in quests from the special quests obtained from the control point garrisons above

Centralized vendor systems - an auctioneer type system like WoW.

Animals pens you can purchase breed animals from

Quality of Life-

Being able to move great quantities of resources from one container to another container without popcorning

Fast travel - once you've been to a Freeport you can now fast travel between them. Make Freeports every 6 zones or so

More ships. Like you would expect, you know, for a Pirate game. Actual use for Crew instead of adding a Zoo of tames. Fixing the claim system. Fixing the "endgame" content.

1. automated ship routes. would add a shit ton of player content with just this one mechanic alone. trading routes. widely available piracy targets. more trade between companies and alliances. better and more convenient shipping. blueprint ships more accessible to the masses.

2(A). An entire re work of freeport grids. there is no reason for 4 cloned free port islands in the same grid. if anything it should be one large island with more shit on it. more detailed in the next points.

2(B). The player shops may be okay on peoples personal island but for the most part they were a joke. what is actually needed is a centralised Auction house on the freeport island, smack dab in the middle of town square, where you can list your items/materials alongside other peoples listed items for easy comparison and competition.

2(C). a dueling arena on the freeport island where you can go and have one on one or small group land pvp either by duel request or battle queue. would be nice to bet things on a battle or pay an admission fee where the winners get the spoils. (hell id even pay gold to watch that shit)

2(D). Bulletin boards and bounty boards. Would be nice to put tames up for sale, community events, and recruit in the actual game instead of spamming the chat/discord/forums.

3. tradable items that can not be crafted by players and spawn into the atlas only once.  skins... hats... cosmetics... fuckin anything. purely for the sake of creating a "rare" market that will also be a way to hold wealth and show off without actually having to hold gold. (Similar to runescapes rares like party hats, halloween masks, santa hats and etc.)  You did good with the bunny ears, keep em coming. now we just need the automated shipping and auction house to create the economy and streamline the market.

Im really tired of repeating my self tbh... ive been talking about ALL this shit since the first month this game was released. You want a successful MMO where the players will stick around and buy your shitty micro transactions later on devs? id rather this game didnt die, take a fucking hint from what works great in other games please.

I would say stop repeating yourself then? I mean nobody is forcing you to do so. Plus how much effort did it take to copy and paste anyway?

Not meaning nothing by it but might should of left the end part out of it is all🤣🤣🤣😉

I had higher hopes for Atlas’s economy after the developers initially said they were patterning the game after Eve. I would like to see more depth added to the cooking, gardening and medicine systems as part of this. The WPE is a step in the right NPC direction, but it remains weird to me that the defining act of piracy, raiding merchant shipping, is nonexistent because there is no shipping to raid. It’s like making an X-men movie without Wolverine (okay I know we can’t expect Hugh Jackman to keep playing that part forever but really shouldn’t he be required by law to do so?)

I’d really like to see NPC merchant ships protected by NPC Navy.

Also they can go ahead and release those flying ships any day now, just so I can enjoy the delicious tears of those who weren’t paying attention whinging about their “immersion”.

+ Peasants (NPC), hire-able, who could milk cows, gather manure or automate farming, etc.  main usage would be for single player obviously, but it would also cut a bit on tedious on PvE and PvP. It would also add sense of progression (making things easier for well established player).

1. Trade winds/ routes that run a horizontal path across the map. When in those trade wind sectors your ship speed is doubled or tripled to make travel quicker. This will lead to trader companies using these and pirate player companies camping these highway sectors for easy and guaranteed pvp.

2. Merge pvp and pve official maps. 3x3 sectors surrounding freeport capitals are pve except for one grid called a capital city grid. The free port is owned/claimed by bigger companies/alliances and fought over every two weeks in events on the capital city grid for 24 hours. The remaining pve grids are untouched. ( i realise this will lead to companies hiding things in pve zones but who cares. ) owning capital city grids generates a passive resource income from activity in pve zones around the freeport.

3. Less skill points overall to encourage more player specialisation.

4. A karma system. Killing settlers of another capital city pvp grid will make all npcs of those grids attack you. Additionally, all npcs in surrounding pve sectors will attack you.

5. Pve islands are split into predeterminded sections for claim( maybe an archipelago style with lots of small islands) . Each section of those claims has water access for atleast a large ship yard. Each company has one(1) pve claim point. Parking on anyone elses claim has a decay timer for all items, ships and tames.

Items crafted are based on crafter companys id number therefor you cant hide pvp items/ships and tames in a buddies pve sector for longer than 8 hours max. The only way for a pvp company to refresh this timer is by moving item/tame ship back to pvp sector for equal amount of time it was in a pve sector. The only way to trade between PvP and pve in a pve sector is by paying a predetermined (scaling with quality) gold value at a NPC trader plus the asking price of the seller.

Pvp loot is allowed in the capital city grid until it is sold to pve players via NPC vendors . This again will result in decay if company IDs don’t match before the item is sold. PvP loot has no decay if kept in PvP grids. So you can role play a pirate or whatever with stolen loot all you want outside of pve sectors and bring it “into town “ to sell it if you want (as long as it doesn’t decay before you find a buyer)

To gain a pve status for a PvP ship etc fleeing from PvP sector has a 1hour cooldown once anchored on a pve island. After that hour it is impossible to damage it. If an enemy catches upto you before that one pve hour cooldown they can plank the ship but not completely destroy it. The ship will be immobile and no clip until it is repaired.

Just a couple of things. Sorry for the long post. Please feel free to add/ subtract or criticise. Alot of these ideas are from ex pve players in my company on NAPVP.

Id like for everyone, regardless of playstyle to be able to have fun together. The pve guys on my company now are awesome breeders/ crafters and content runners, they know where to find materials and don’t mind hauling it/ trading it. My usual pvp guys are happy to help/ protect them from hostiles because the pve guys contribute to the company as a whole.  They also pvp occasionally and seem to enjoy it every now and then. i didn’t even know songs were so good for pvp/map situations until i met a solid pvp roleplayer. He is a full int ( crow on his shoulder with a mix and match fur/plate/cloth int set) pve/ pvp sea captain. He absolutley wrecks alot of core pvpers.

Freeports should have Taverns, fast travel to freeport, less freeports so more players can met there radomly. Some kind of safe storage for your best 10 items, better economy for trading cause now it even dont exist. I wanna see 10-20 player ships in freeport  like in trailer.

And better fighting music like in ARK.

I always find humor in post where the dev's talked about this game being pattered off of Eve Online.  Being a gamer who played Eve for over 10 years.  I simply see nothing in this game that resembles anything in Eve online.  I have actually been trying to understand the direction of this game.  Perhaps I just need to drink another beer.....

Well they're already planning on adding one of the features I've been requesting which is NPC human sailed ships, the land based NPC humans is an added bonus. So that's one down.  It does sound like they'll mostly be hovering around islands, so at some point I'd like to see some traffic in the grids.

I'd also like to get rid of the "All predators are friends" nonsense if we could, considering many predators don't even like members of their own species hanging around, let alone group up with other species to go after prey.

Another thing I'd like to see is aft and fore gun ports for the millionth time. They were a real thing IRL for a reason. Sure, not every ship had them but they should at least be an option, especially for the galleon.

Gun ports for the main deck. Again, not every ship had them, but it'd be nice as an option. This would especially be nice for Brigs or smaller class vessels that only have a single gun deck. I'd also like them because it'd look better having some place to snap cannons on the upper deck instead of having to eyeball gun placement.

And lastly, I'd like to see Frigates added. Up to 2 gun decks, and 22 to 32 guns, they'd fill the gap between the brig and galleon.

Anyway that's all I have for now.

We want auto decay turned off because

We like ruins, We use other people’s ramps and bridges after they have left, we enjoy demolishing and finding goodies, all our structures won’t instantly disappear if we miss the window and it makes the islands look more crowded than they are. EU PVE - 700+hrs 5 members.

Please. Please. Please.
