    Patch V407.2 - It's Time to Farm, Pathfinders!

    Ahoy Pathfinders!

    We find ourselves on the cusp of a new frontier as the crew begins rolling in new and exciting changes and content! As mentioned previously - the first of these new features, Farmhouses, are here! Let’s dive in and get a little in-depth about the update!

    :anchor: Farmhouses :anchor:

    Available under the Construction & Mercantilism Esotery of Building, players can construct both Wood & Stone Farmhouses in the Smithy. Farmhouses will require at least one thatch or wood unit for fuel to start gathering resources from nearby nodes, and as long as there are thatch and wood nodes within the area, the farmhouse will continue to fuel itself. Talk about efficiency! Players will be able to determine the farming radius based off of the light blue sphere during placement. Any resource with at least one node within the radius will be collected.

    Additional Details:

    • Structures built within the Farmhouse radius will reduce the farming efficiency
    • The Farmhouse has 30 slots in its inventory
    • Resources collected in the Farmhouse inventory will stack up to 10,000 units
    • When collecting resources, they will be distributed within the player inventory at the normal stack size
    • Farmhouse caps at 8000 weight and will stop auto-farming when reaching this point
    • Stone Farmhouse gathers slightly faster and is more difficult to destroy
    • Farmhouses may not be placed within 12,000 units of another Farmhouse.

    While it will still be faster to manually farm for resources when you need something right away, a Farmhouse is sure to be a necessity in the long term. Be sure to take care of your farmhouse, other pathfinders may be eyeing to pillage it! It can be hard to tell when some resources go missing because you have such a large stockpile up for grabs. 😉

    :anchor: Ships for Gold :anchor:

    Last week we also announced that Buying Ships for Gold would be coming in this update. However, the tides have changed our course! We heard feedback from the community regarding Buying Ships for Gold, and it spurned our creative juices. We’ll be holding on to this to make it into a more comprehensive feature! It’ll be well worth the wait, mateys! 🙂

    As we mentioned last week, all players above level 80 will be reduced to level 80 in response to a leveling abuse. This was not a decision that we made lightly and we greatly considered community feedback on this matter. After the crew considered all options and looked into what was possible within the current infrastructure of ATLAS, we decided this would be the best course of action. The level cap will remain 120, so Pathfinders can pick back up and get right back into their journey. Although this may also affect some righteous Pathfinders who were able to level up far, we felt that this was in the best interest for the health of the game. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. We will be improving our processes moving forward and are committed to making sure that ATLAS is a fun and fair experience for all. 


    With the Farmhouses, we have included a few balance adjustments and tackled a tricky fix as well. We’re making some adjustments to the Army of the Damned Treasure Guards in an effort to make certain content more accessible for all styles of pirating! The difficulty will remain the same, but the reduced mob size should make the encounter more manageable for solo Pathfinders and smaller crews.     Farmhouse

    • Added Farmhouse and Stone Farmhouse to the Esotery of Building Skill
      • Requires Smithy to Craft
    • Initial Balance pass on gather speed, radius, cost to build, max weight, fuel cost, etc

    Army of the Damned Treasure Guards

    • Reduced number of guards spawned per wave to three
    • Modified type of guards spawned

    Abominable Snowman Encounter

    • Removed XP reward

    Explosive Barrel

    • Fixed duplication bug

    Player XP Rollback

    • Any characters over level 80 have been rolled back to level 80

    Torpedo

    • Increased damage by 50%

    You play 1,2,3,4 seson and want anything new? You dig over 200 blue maps to reach you 115lvl? No, no, no, take that usseless farmhouse, take you 80lvl and play. No, sorry, not that time.

    Guys, why are we still using "units" as a unit of measurement and not 'meters' or the in game accepted unit of measurement "foundations."  We're in season 4.  Other than this, I'm honestly looking forward to this.  I would've liked to see us stay capped at 80 for a bit longer (in spite of losing 15 levels because of it), but I'm optimistic this is a good move.

    Sounds good and I'll try them asap, but I'm still missing an official message about the lag present in some lawless regions once they hit 20 players or more. A simple "we're working on it" would suffice.

    So no fixes to tier 3 taming or the resources that are marked incorrectly or the shipwrecks that are half way in ground. Not to mention u guys have never have fixed Freeports decay rate now every port is a parking lot. Also not enough whales spawn on the map but if i jump in the water there's 3 sharks that spawn as soon as my feet hit the water.

    Please dont add anything else you need to work on these fixes.

    Alright HERE IS THE PROBLEM.

    Farmhouse require "to be placed on a floor". But correct me if I wrong - foundations are blocking resources spam!

    Aaaand I just CAN'T place my farmhouse. I'm trying to place it on a floor but it required to be placed on a floor, so I just can't place it. This is the way game works...

    Upd: Solved this one. I just have to be like bigger ceilings. The farmhouse itself is 5x3 and I was able to place one at 7x5 ceilings.

    Also few issues I see.

    1) - Can not attach wall hook to light it up.

    2) - Can not paint it.

    3) - Can not climb to the roof via picks.

    And one more question. As I now placed it to my pillars and ceilings, there are some resources around. What if some player (troll guy) will come and gather all resources? They wont respawn then? 

    And If I go to another island, should I search resources far from all players farmhouses, so I don't destroy someones nodes?

    p.s. - The situation itself is a bit strange. There is just no place around my base with flat land and resources around. So I have 2 ways. 1 - place farmhouse like really far from my base. Or place one on ceiling's bottom which is reduce production to 0.25%.  Because of that my house just doesn't produce thatches at all (it burn them faster than gather).

    playing in pve mode is not easy.  reduced the map so that there were more players per grid, however, a grid with more than 35 players is impossible to play.  ping reaching 250 and 10 second lags.  this if you are at sea.  if you see an island the game closes on its own due to the excessive amount of construction on the beaches.  honestly, put urgent build limit in pve mode, or remove this server.  it is currently not supported.

    You made the farmhouse pretty, but unfortunately it doesn't help much because the lawless servers still run so badly.
    On the PVE server C7, the ping is around 200. When you go out on the ship and adjust the sails, these minutes dance to yourself. Taming is no longer possible because either I kill the animal or I am killed by the animal.
    At C7 I would be interested anyway why a company can build such a monster pyramid? where is the structure limit of 8500 which was active before the wipe?
    Please Please Please, make the game playable again so that we can enjoy it again before adding any new features

    kind of wondering this myself if you get a huge company they could just go round islands and block everyone from having farmhouses by smothering the place with their own. hopefully there is something to control this.

    If you place a Stone Farmhouse and then pick it up within the allotted time... It shows up in your inventory as a wood farmhouse.

    The farmhouse spam we've seen yesterday doesn't make performance any better.

    The servers jerky worse than 2 days ago.

    You're not doing yourself a favor if you don't get the game back on track in a reasonable performance soon.
    Who will still buy the game if it is unplayable?

    I'm not seeing any changes to the AoD.  Tested twice with fresh singleplayer games, still getting several (10-12+?) lvl 52 AoD spawning even on common (1.2) quality freeport treasure maps.

    I do like the farmhouses, given we are a company of 2 this has made our lives so much easier and the game a lot more playable given we now don't have to farm resources for hours to build boats, pens etc. However to reiterate an earlier point can we please have some way of choosing whether the farmhouse collects either food or resources seeing as ours are permanently full of berries or herbs and contain very little of the resources we actually placed them down to collect. My better half would also like to be able to paint them!

    Most servers are not so bad. C6 has seen 90 players with allmost no lag and a OK ping. C7 is special because of the gigantic Pyramid that is sucking down performance all over the server. Some admin could take care of it but the pyramid guy did the same thing last goaround and his building was not removed too. So better pack your things, mark C7 with a big STOP - sign and find a new home.
